The 2021 Skeletor is that Mark Hamill is just doing the Joker voice he was doing for the Arkham games, it's like the only voice he can do for some reason, and it doesn't fit Skeletor at all. Unlike Brian Dobson's performance where there's a more sinister tone, but still manages to pull off that "Nyah" voice that people can instantly identify as Skeletor.
That's not fair. One Skeletor deliberately went out of his way to confront Hordak and knew what to expect. The other was written by someone who hates the franchise, and everyone who enjoys the IP.
2002 skeletor was pretty much the best iteration, ruthless, manages the ham fisted lines and the laugh was chaotic. Ironically the laugh gave more of a joker personality than hamill’s joker. To be clear I have nothing against Mark Hamil, he’s accomplished and Batman TAS joker is memorable for a very good reason. But I think he has been miscast, no fault on himself but someone wanted a famous voice actor and wanted him to basically voice joker. It’s off-putting. Even when that is ignored the 2002 has more range. Character design wise both are good, and I would be shocked if the 2021 was not upto standard but they gave 2002 skeletor more to do with his own arc and backstory to fill in. Also despite being short, Skeletor vs Randor and He-Man, was classy. I’ll never understand why Kevin fergie billed this as a sequel to the 80’s original, it’s so far back that it should be at rest. The demographic for that would be late 30’s to early 40’s. Given the tone of revelations a continuation of the 2002 series seemed more logical.
CG Skeletor shouldn't be underestimated, dude literally called the Power of Grayskull weaker than the Power of Wrath and embraced the latter's power and made it his own. Which really, really makes Revolution Skeletor all the more reason to be classified as the weakest version.
As we find out, pit him at his prime against Hordak, and he does indeed still win. This was a Skeletor fresh off a fight, and was not expecting a battle in his own home base, that he hadn't been back to since coming back to life. He also probably assumed that the thing was something Tri-Clops made, which means he didn't even gather a lot of power first. Meanwhile, 2003 was a fresh Skeletor, who just got there, and was likely prepping that blast the whole time coming here(As this is literally his only scene in that episode, which is otherwise an origin story for the 2003 series, both for Greyskull, Skeletor, and a few other elements.
I do like the 2021 because he slips into Skeleton King juuuust a bit. But I swear ever since he failed to kill the king and became Skeletor in 2002 he really, really made it menacing.
Any chance you might throw in the 3D Skeletor/Prince Keldor played by Ben Diskin? He managed to conquer Eternos AND ascend to godhood. Also damn, I never realized how lacking Mark Hamill's Skeletor was. Mark's a great actor, and I honestly don't blame him for the performance because he's older, but I honestly think they cast him more to just say "Hey guys look, we got the Joker actor to play our Skeletor!" rather than getting a close Skeletor fit. It might have been better if they cast someone else.
I had considered having clips of the other Skeletors, but i wanted to keep this fairly short and to the point ( i might do another one ). I agree with you about the casting of Skeletor in Revelations, and given how near definitive his Joker voice has become, it felt odd to hear it from Skeletor.
Difference being 2021 Revelation Skeletor didn't know there was a force field there. He thought it was just a statue. So obviously he isn't going to destroy a barrier when he isn't even explicitly trying to.

Let's be honest, the 2021 "He-Man, Revelations" (and the "second season") is a JOKE, it just, in my opinion, at the best of times it "messes up" what it is "allegedly" is to be a "continuation" to, most of the time I get the impression that the "great-fans-of-the-original-show" story writer, actually only read the "teaser-summaries" of the old episodes of the original show, because there are alot of contradictions and things left out, only to inproptly and incoherently appear long after when they should have even been passingly mentioned. For example, Adam's twin sister Adora, after Adam died in the beginning of the "He-Man, Revelations" series, why wasn't Adora mentioned, all of them knew she was alive and was on Etheria, why didn't they insist she was summoned back to Eternia to take on the role of the new heir to the throne, not to mention, so she could comfort her parents over the loss of her brother? I mean seriously, she is wielding the TWIN SWORD of Adam's sword of power, through which she has been able to talk to both Adam and Sorceress when needed, it is as connected to Greyskull as Adam's sword, so when magic started to "disappear", that should at least have sent her a message to hurry back to Eternia. As for the 2002 show, now that was a great version of the He-Man franchise, but to say it is a "prequel" to the original show, that is, to be kind in choice of words, plain silly, there are TOO many of He-Man's villians that makes an appearence that the original show introduced as "first-time encounter" villians for He-Man, also, the appearences and behavior of almost all the characters in the two shows, clash and contradicts one another to the point of almost of utterly completely being universes apart (pardon the intended pun). Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion, but in my opinion, they should just cancel all work on the 2021 and affiliated sequel seasons, and instead start working on a "new" show, by "resurrecting" the 2002 He-Man series, or at least, try to make a similiar styled inspired "spin-off" with the same design in the characters personalities and style. It would be infinitly better then the ***** (sorry, couldn't think of any sufficient "nice" word to say it and instead just typed several "*" instead) of a show that the 2021 "Revelation" and following connected seasons are. And, on a side-note, the other Netflix series, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", that was also started in 2021, is FAR BETTER, MORE INTERESTING AND A LOT MORE ENTERTAINING, than the "He-Man, Revelations" show (heck, in my opinion, the only He-Man show that may be worse then "Revelation" is, now just I'm saying, just maybe, the "The New Adventures of He-Man" series from 1990.)
The 2002 Skeletor got bested by Orko. Think about that for a second. The 2021 version finally attained the Sword of Power and became Skelegod AND was voiced by Mark Hamill. 2021 wins.
Maybe...but that skeletor got whipped by evil-Lynn and gave into the horny and then lost his power almost as soon as he got it..skeletor in any iteration was never that gullible.

2002 Skeletor was pure villainous entertainment
Mmmm 2002 He-Man. Love it. I don't get the hate for the power sword. Shit was badass when it transformed.
2002?! God damn I feel old
The 2002 Skeletor got bested by Orko.
As much as I love Mark Hamill, he was a poor choice for Skeletor. I'm glad he still had fun in the role though!
2002 Skeletor was white?
I love them all
They did up their security in 20 years
I was looking for the original skeleton memes
That is awesome I love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
…just how many reboots did he-man go through?
Then we have skeletor from the 90s😂
80 filmation skeletor is the worst moron ever created.
Nyheh
Fear meee.. HEEEEE MAN
How ever 2021 skeletor has the voice of mark hamil
When the 2002 version of the series is better then the Kevin Smith farce.
2022 skeletor: Greetings Fools!
2002 MOTU Is and awesome show
Everything 2002 was better.
Kevin Smith can toss his own salad. What he did to the MOTU franchise was unforgivable.
What did he do?
@@fernandosegovia8806 Wrote a shit story. Lied to fans, ran an innocent youtube channel through the mud to obfuscate his gross mishandling of the brand. Queer baiting.
I forgot about how fearsome the 02 skeletor was, now he just needs mark hamill's joker voice
They have been doing the likes of the he man franchise dirty for the past 8-10 years they have no respect for it and its sad 🗿💀
The OG Skeletor from the 80s will always be the greatest. 💀
80 filmation skeletor is the worst skeletor.
Hell yes
Nice, but how can we take 2002 Skeletor seriously when his firing the death ray causes a zoom sound that sounds like it came from a Sonic cartoon?
