I had a feeling Sam was behind that. I believe he even posted a photo of an E6 that he kitbashed to look just like the 4-2-2. He had some pretty wild, mostly Pennsy creations as well, and he was also a great source for some rare 1800s and early 2000s photos of the greater NY region (mostly the LIRR, which is also my home railroad). I'm sad to hear that he passed away, as the website has been down for years because of this.
@@Pensyfan19 ya, surprisingly never heard of him but I'm sure I've seen his work a few times over the years. I wish I had seen more of his work, thanks for for commenting! 😀
So happy that Berliner is finally getting some recognition, the site was so vast with so many fun and spoofy ideas. Never knew Sam passed away, thanks for giving me some closure on what happened to him and the site. Edit: I maaaaaaay have access to a copy/archive of the site, but I’ll have to get back to you
@@gigaxacku I thought he deserved the recognition expecialy since his z6 made a very popular video for me. I'm still surprised that I never heard of him until now but he sounded like he had some great ideas! If you have a copy that would be great!
As Pennsyfan19 stated Sam made an HO scale model of this engine. He started with a Bowser E6 4-4-2 kit, then shortened the boiler, frame, and tender. The engine even was able to run. He also built an EMD DDP45X diesel, using a stretched Athearn DD40 frame, and two Athearn FP45 bodies.
@@stuartaaron613That's so cool! Did he put those videos all up on RUclips? I can't believe I haven't seen them before event if they weren't on RUclips! I hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for commenting! 😃
Of course it was S. Berlinerwerke III's website. My personal favorite of his photoshops was the 13-truck shay, based off of a typo from a news article about the B&O RR Museum roof collapse. Very silly but he put some thought into it and tried to come up with a way to make it actually work. Most of the stuff from his website can be found on the wayback machine AFAIK.
How did I immediately know this was a joke? If such a thing had ever existed, Alvin Staufer would certainly have covered it his books.
@@chrismiller5198 You must have a really good sense of humor then! Thanks for watching! 😃👍

As a fellow kitbasher, I admire this kind of skill.
