The slow players have a lot more experience on the slow game,so their timing is better and also the understanding of the positioning.Therefore they have the advantage on their own game,so no,fast players aren't as good.
When a defender shows you one way especially as a slow defender the best thing to do as an attacker is quickly change the direction into the direction the defenders back is facing, this will give you plenty of time to do whatever you want and if the defender turns and still making it hard for you just turn back into the direction you was running at originally and you should baffle most defenders.
