Uncle Mike seems to have a genuine interest in his town. He seems to be approaching ownership of both clubs slightly differently with regards to players, but you can see there is much needed investment gradually arriving. The stadium has had some work done on the concourses. There are new murals on the stadium celebrating both clubs, and although it doesn't look perfect, there are sponsorships arriving on the stadium walls to try and ensure that cash flow isn't an issue. There seems to be a road map now for Latics with emphasis on young talent coming through the system and not spending extortionate amounts of money on older players on a hefty wage bill. Given time, Latics will grow again. I hope we can be a good example of ownership soon.
Excellent video. Our story has been told so poorly over the last couple of years. It's great to see someone doing their research. Many EFL clubs are being run at such high risk. The money thrown around is insane and completely unsustainable. Hopefully we've had enough warnings that we are now on the path to a brighter future
What happened to Wigan is the sugar daddy went away, and without that, they went back to being pretty much where they were before he showed up. The problem in football now is it's all about that sugar daddy. I'm waiting for you to cover Oldham Athletic.
Nothing has happened to wigan athletic we are alive and kicking like the phoenix we have rose from the ashes and will continue to prosper and we will return to the top flight in the very near future
@@RNG-133been following wigan athletic since the non league day's from the Cheshire league to there admittance to the football league in 1978 and it has been quite a journey too many great memories to list and now at 74 i don't get to many matches anymore i have to say there are.teams in the football pyramid who will never achieve a fraction of what wigan have achieved from non league to winning promotion to the Premier league to winning the fa Cup it's.fairy tale stuff and all in such a small space of time.

I think finishing 10th and in the league cup final is insane for your first year in the premiership
