Deep man. The 2017 class is looking better every year. It’s funny how at the time people look at the draft, then how they look at it from hindsight after several years. At the time the 2006 class was just the greatest ever, and 2007 was just okay. Now 2007 is legendary and 2006 is just, well, another class with a lot of talent throughout and a ton of busts.

miller, watt, jones are locks. peterson & smith probably. green maybe. then you have sherman (probably) & kelce (maybe) from later in the draft who are also in the HOF discussion
The AJ green - Andy Dalton combo came right after the departure of the Carson Palmer - Chad Johnson duo as well. Crazy to think how that works. They had an amazing tandem of QB - WR for over a decade and yet had very little success in the playoffs

Crazy how much elite talent the SEC had that year. 5 of the top 6 picks in the class. Plus 3 other players in the top 10 (Von Miller, Aldon Smith and Blaine Gabbert) having their college teams join the conference the following year
I remember watching this draft with my friends in my teachers room back in 5th grade. Damn, time sure does fly. I vividly remember Von and Julio getting drafted.
JJ Watt went 11th, and Richard Sherman went in the 5th round. 2 future HOFers there. Also Jason Kelsey and Mike Pouncey also were drafted this year. Lot of talent in this draft.
Robert Quinns inconsistent but he can pile up the sacks few in history could. Pouncey a really good center, Ryan Kerrigan set the Redskins all time sack record iirc. Cam Jordan the heartbeat of the Saints defensively, and arguably the past season since Brees retirement. A pro bowl starter in the second round Dalton whether you love him or hate him he outproduced any QB in the first round outside Newton. Kyle Rudolph was in that draft a great receiving TE for Minnesota. Theres a ton of others im not even mentioning. Helluva draft class overall it feels. What about doing like, "The best Day 2 Draft Picks of [ insert season] " or something like that.. basically every draft video out there only focuses on the first round, or notable picks throughout a certain draft... I wanna see dialogue about those 2nd & 3rd round guys... Because thats where the heart of football teams get taken... 1st round is almost always boom or bust guys.. but 2nd and 3rd rounders usually are guys who are still well known college studs, but fall in the draft cus of "poor combine" numbers or "lack of _____ " ... Just some food for thought, keep up the great work!!!

That moment when, despite all of the incredible talent, only two of the players in the top ten of this draft are on their original teams (Miller and Smith)
That is an amazing top 11. And it's worth noting that of the four guys who could be considered busts, both of the non-QBs were great at first and only had their career derailed by doing lots of stupid off-the-field stuff. I think that says a lot for the NFL scouting that year, but also for the importance of NFL teams finding a way to provide life guidance for their players, especially the younger ones. Even if you approach it from a purely selfish perspective doing so is an important part of the team's investment in these players. Not to mention the more altruistic reasons.
