That kit sounded amazing! She's a great drummer, but whoever tuned and miced the kit deserves a lot of credit too, along with the sound mixer.

Hi Senri san. As Japanese drummer. We are very proud to have you are in not only first Japanese drummer but also first Japanese lady in drumeo lesson .. Great advice to all drummers even the guys feel much inspirations We men normally grip strong and hit hard, but once we knew it would create better sound and beat once we release the unnecessary power. Thanks to all staff in Drumeo to invite her to your programs. Hope you guys invite more Japanese drummer as well Keep drumming!!!!

this video made a lot of sense! i tend to go for sticks with more length to compensate for my short arm but the weight distribution feels really good if you choke back really hard. i notice that my grip falls back a lot esp while playing live. i’ve been trying to correct it but now i feel like it’s justifiable, it’s just an advanced technique lol

Great stuff, often drummers who want more power and projection out of their playong think you have to swing their arms like a huge hammer but the analogy of a whip I felt was spot on. Your technique will be much more important than your build.

If you play it "right", you mostly use your wrists. A drum stick isn't heavy, it doesn't take much effort to give it good speed towards the drum head.
I think the two main reasons for many drummers to have lots of muscles probably are:
    1. They workout to gain _endurance_ (and to look good on stage of course)
    2. They use the wrong technique and wave their entire arms around instead of using their wrists.
If you use your entire arm to hit the drum, you WILL get tired rather quickly and because of that you'll need more muscles than you would have otherwise.
