- A woman who lost her legs in a terrible accident is getting an incredible gift just in time for Christmas. Mandy Horvath had to have both of her legs amputated when she was 21 after after she left a bar where she believes a date rape drug was slipped into one of her drinks. She passed out on train tracks and woke up to a new reality. Mandy recently became the first bi-lateral amputee to be fitted with bionic limbs. #InsideEdition
She's another amazing example that you can still live your life regardless of what you've been through. She was determined and and succeeded with flying colors

I take the hot pocket out of the microwave and stare in all of its glory. /it’s that time again/ I say as I begin licking the outside of the hot pocket, regretting nothing. That is when I hear a slight moan come from where I’m biting. I hear the hot pocket moan /harder/. I realise this is not a normal hot pocket and could potentially be possessed so I take it to the priest to perform a exorcism. The priest takes out the demon from the hot pocket and when the demon leaves it the hot pocket blows up covering my face in cheap tomato sauce and demon-pocket.

Wow, toughest woman I’ve ever seen
I got hit by a train 2 month ago. And lost my leg at tge hip. Im still haveing issue with my urethra being tore apart. Im a long ways from getting back up on my feet and out of bed . But i seen your vidio and i just want you to know im inspired by you and thank you. May God bless your heart

As an amputee, I’m so surprised. She is strong and a big inspiration. I’m glad that she got her prosthetic legs and has become able to walk again

This occurred in Steele City, Nebraska in 2014. Mandy Horvath went out to celebrate her 21st birthday with friends to go shoot pool at a bar. She states she had two beers and did two shots (this was supported by her bar tab and blood alcohol level), then stepped outside to have a smoke. Her memory became hazy after that point. Later that night she was found by emergency services on a set of train tracks half a mile away from the bar, with both her legs missing.
Unfortunately doctors failed to test for date rape drugs as they had been occupied with treating her serious injuries, and they also seem to have initially believed it was a failed suicide attempt. Horvath states that a man she was with that night came to visit her in the hospital, and had told her several of his friends had been injured or killed on those train tracks. The same man committed suicide later that same year. Horvath has stated that in addition to dealing with dismissive police, she has faced "victim shaming" from her community, who blamed her for having been drinking. Also unfortunately no one has ever been investigated for her case because police in her town seemed to dismiss the case as an attempted suicide right off the bat, something Horvath has strongly denied.

That's super creepy. I remember hearing weird things about this story. How does someone go outside to smoke and end up on train tracks. Definitely drugged. Was she purposely left there after being raped to die? Of lose her legs? Just seems so suspicious.
Well, you do have to take responsibility for things you do in your life. Going out and accepting drinks at a bar with strangers, IS a risky thing. Not trying to be mean here, just saying the truth.

Damn, that's an amazing level of determination and strength. I have been completely broken down by hardships that suddenly seem ridiculous when compared to what this woman has had to go through - so this clip was a good reality check for me. Stay strong Mandy, you deserve all the best!

This is really sad, but at least we learned a lesson, Drinking can change your life, and not in a good way.

I am proud of this girl for what she is doing she is learning to do the right thing and is still going back up on her well arms and still is walking again

That’s what she thinks happened there’s no evidence, the person would’ve probably tried to take her to a car not leave her... she may have just had too much to drink.. either way still feel bad for her
according to what someone else has commented, her bar tab backs up her account of having had only 2 beers and 2 shots. I guess it's down to personal alcohol tolerance as to how drunk someone will get off that and I'm not a drinker so I wouldn't know

This is so sad, when ever I go out on the night drinking I always bring a friend that doesn't touch the stuff. That way I have a safe ride home every Friday night. I wish everybody had a friend like that. :(
I hope the Japanese robotics corporation in Japan sees this video and say hold my beer...as they help upgrade her new legs to fully functioning robotic legs. Imagine what that would look like. :)
