It depends on what point this would be done - before or after cats would produce the behaviour. In general, cats do not have analytic thinking or something, so most likely they would not change the pattern as their brain got no means to react to such a particular trigger.
Interesting. I think it would depend by the cat's individual character. My fours will start eating the other's treat without too much ceremonies for example, but quieter ones maybe would just stay still and hope they will be rewarded sooner or later.

It is interesting as this video shows the proof of Thorndike's "Stimulus-Response" theory in psychology, where he has done the theory of learning "using"/with cats 😊 Imma explain it shortly as possible= First rule, the cats "have" to feel hungry/the need/want to eat, if not then they wouldn't want it. So the stimulus here is the bell, and if they ring the bell they'll get the food (food as the response). The response (food) makes them feel happy or satisfied. If done repeatedly for training, they'll get used to it and they'll know this process will make them feel happy because they're getting food to fulfill their needs (creates greater bond for the process). This is different from rewarding them with treats~

Studies have shown in rats however that they kept ringing the bell forever if they were to get food only sometimes when they rang the bell. It is believed that gambling addiction works in the same way: because you don't know if you're going to get something you'll keep trying for that reward.
