I find this performance beautiful. My Italian grandfather was an accordion tuner and repairman in Reseda, California. I remember him working on accordions in his garage when I'd visit him as a child. People would send him their accordions from all over the world. He had boxes of them from Russia, South America, Canada, Germany, France, you name it. He had swaths of leather sitting around, razor blades, and he'd plug in his little electric burner on which was a small skillet filled with wax. When the wax was melted he'd cut small leather strips, put a little wax on one end, then replace the old leather strips in the accordion. He tuned the entire thing by ear. He had no technical gadgets, no means to measure anything with like a ruler, just did everything by instinct. It's too bad he didn't pass on his trade to his kids or grand-kids. After he passed away I wondered where all his clients would send their accordions to now that he was gone.
This really inspires me to get one these instruments and learn them myself!Thank you for sharing this wonderful duet. The way they play is absolutely enchanting.
Hurrah! What a wonderful performance! Dear couple! I congratulate and wish you all the best to perform well in more and more stage performances like this.

Hello, as a German, I can tell you, that they didn`t stop. Only AA stopped, there are now 3 factories who build excellent Bandoneons. Uwe Hartenhauer/Klingenthal, Klaus Gutjahr/Berlin and Handinstrumentenbau Carlsfeld. There in Carlsfeld was Alfred Arnold before............and they sell the Bandoneons. greetings
Holger Stielau Wow, that's fantastic, as another Argentinian, the bandoneon is a really beautiful instrument that in Argentina used to be really popular, especially in Tango (a type of music that was invented here), and I'm glad they are still producing them!
but they dont sound the same as the old bandoneons. The steel that they made back then has a different compost, the AA took their secrets to their graves, unfortunately no steel made now has the same consistency, density and elements, it was not 100% steel. True the new ones sound good but that "extra" bittersweet tone is only found on the old AA's and perhaps some ELA's made in the same era.
Tango Feroz It's just a general stereotype about the accordion is an annoying sounding instrument in the west. It's a similar stereotype with bagpipes.
Excellent! I was wanting to hear what the difference was so I can better understand the tones of the Casio SA-76. I think it would have complemented the performance, however had the gentleman on the left been more focused on the audience / camera rather than his bandmate.

很好听!
Very nice! Laik417! BRAVO!!!
As an argentine i have to ask, why do the germans stopped making Bandoneons?! :(
because costs too much and tango players are so fucking poor!! Not enough to manufacture at mass scales
por la guerra y la poca demanda

CLASSY !
I'll never get why people ridicule these instruments.
+amitamaru where who?

thats just stupid people...no instrument is "ridiculous"
There's always idiots everywhere...I never heard about that stereotype. I guess I dont have that kind of stupid people around me!
In America perhaps, but the rest of the world thinks it's a cool instrument.
So left is accordion and the right is?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
