I sparked up my bowl to watch another of your reactions to PINK FLOYD....again. I agree with everything you say. I was at the PULSE Show, seen them live 4 times, met the band and have an autographed album. I told Gilmour he is "The Master Of The Stratocaster", he smiled. I shook both his hands at the same time. I asked...."How would you describe your technique for playing guitar".... He replied.... "No one has ever asked me that before, but, I'd say, I strike a note, bend it shake it then release it"... He does that better than any other guitar player I've ever heard.

    "Strangers passing in the street
By chance, two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me"
My favourite lyric of all time and also what was at the root of all Roger Water's lyrics, empathy. The thing about Floyd is that all of it's good and the more you hear them the more you "get it", so, it's not surprising that you keep getting blown away. Going to a different place is what progressive rock is all about. The Firth Of Fifth by Genesis will take you to a different place and if you want to experience a different reality, try Yes.

Amazing isn't it, this performance showcases how good they all are/were, Richard Wright on keyboard sublime, Roger Water bass guitar commanding, Nick Mason's drums mesmerising and David Gilmour on guitar is just stunning, but best of all is the harmony between Richard Wright and David Gilmour, their voices blend so well into one but then become much more than the sum of their parts sort of ethereal in their beauty.

I was excited to see that you reacted this today, because as a newer Floyd fan myself, I just discovered this song and this particular version two nights ago and have been listening to it non-stop since. The whole thing is amazing, but my favorite part is the funky breakdown and David's wailing guitar at the end. It's crazy to think this performance is 50 years old now. These guys were both of their time and way ahead of their time. As for future reactions, I suggest Pink Floyd's Pulse concert's version of 'High Hopes.' It's an incredibly emotional, moving song, in my opinion.

What I love about music from this era, just 4 guys with their instruments. They could make your emotions run out of control, your hair stand on end and have a psychedelic trip all at once. This is incredible, there are no bells and whistles, fancy lighting or costumes but you can’t take your eyes off them. I mourn the fact that no one these days makes music like this. Computers have taken over everything, not in a good way. And David Gilmour is a Roman God, of course he will play in a Roman amphitheatre.

Notice rhis is just part 1 of the song. For the Pompeii live filmed performance it was broken into two parts but in the album itself, called Meddle, it is a one single continuous song that lasts 24 minutes. It is Pink Floyd's longest song, it filled a whole side of an LP record.
I'm sure you will enjoy the part 2 as well as this it has a strange begining which in the studio version happens at the middle of the song.
Echoes is ine of my favorite PF songs. The other i also love so much is Shine On You Crazy Diamonds. That is also a long song, about 23 minutes long, but it was broken into two parts in the album, serving as the begining and end of the album Wish You Were Here, which is where the song of the same name comes from which you enjoyed so much.

Dave Gilmour commented one time that this song was Rick Wright ( keyboard ) and him talking to each other. By far the best and last time Dave & Rick did this song was at "gdansk" a must watch ( 25 minutes). .Rick die shorty after. Dave said he will NEVER play it again. Dave came back 'solo" to Pompeii and played in front of an audience ( first time since 79 AD with people) at the Amphitheatre. watch any video from " live at Pompeii" some Floyd some solo. He plays " blackie" . a black strat modified with using only 2 pick-ups. sold at auction for $3.9 million without the Jimi Hendrix guitar strap xxxxx.

Comfortably numb disco ball is a slam against music critics when they said you can't dance to their music. ( did you want to get up and dance? ) Floyd is music you LISTEN to not just hear. Watch any vid from Gdsank where they have a string orchestra and Daves solo at "Wroclaw" also. love to see youngins reaction for the first time. There is SO MUCH MORE for you to see. Give you more to see in the future. FIRST rule NEVER stop a Gilmour solo.

Don't do reaction vids but you speak well with such enthusiasm for Pink Floyd. Glad you appreciate them. Their sound is different from Rock&Roll its nearly a different genre. Haunting and unworldly.

You need to react to HEY YOU and WELCOME TO THE MACHINE. Just "buckle-up" and get ready to go on a journey.

Watch the Dainish Orchestra do the theme from "The good the bad and the ugly". It's very entertaining.

you should do part 2 of this song :D the whole song is about 24 minutes long and this is just part one. THE WHOLE SONG (like the whole 24 minutes) is the best non-drug trip ever.

I always think Organic, with pink floyd. Yes, before their time. But also a feeling of getting back to root's and nature of it all.

This was filmed live in the amphitheater at Pompeii (no crowd, just crew) for release in cinema’s in U.K.
Pompeii was a Roman town near what is now Naples on the coast of Italy. In AD 79 the nearby volcano Mt Vesuvius erupted and completely buried Pompeii and Herculaneum under 15 metres of volcanic rock/ash. It was forgotten about until accidentally discovered about 150 years ago, and has since been excavated.
I was 14 when this was filmed in about 1972 and I went to see it at the cinema at the time ( I’m 63 now) it was a Sunday night showing just one night only….
I was mesmerised and still love it to this day, Meddle is my favourite Pink Floyd album.
I have visited Pompeii and Herculaneum recently and even climbed Vesuvius and peered in ! It’s fascinating and well worth the visit
