I adore Crowley to an unhealthy level. Also I’ve always understood the “5 things this gun can’t kill” line as archangels in general being one of the things.
Here are the only 3 positives from this episode 1) Crowley shows up 2)The terms “Team Free Will” is used for the first time 3) Cas burns Meg Everything else was sad and depressing
The angel family is pretty messed up 😂. Techinically they are all "siblings", but some are more "siblings" than others. Luci even calls Cas "brother", but Cas is a lesser brother lol. Remember when Gabriel mentioned the family squabbles two episodes ago? The lesser siblings weren't even considered in that family picture.
@@Johnnysmithy24 lol. I think your way is much better. But because early in season 4 we see Cas refer to a dead angel as sister in a way that sounded like an actual sibling loss and not just "brother/sister" as people from the same congregation usually call each other, and because Lucifer referred to Cas as brother, I started seeing all of them as siblings, and that makes for one messed up family 😆
Having a large family can be such a mess, lol. I have personal experience with this because my dad has 9 siblings who all have multiple children. I have 30+ cousins, but in Serbia, we refer to our cousins as brothers and sisters (that's why I can see the archangels and angels as cousins). Add my actual siblings into the mix, and family gatherings can turn into a war zone really quickly, which is why I pretty much noped out of them years ago, lmao
Lucifer is the fourth Archangel. Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, Gabriel, in that order I believe. The possible 5th thing is a character we aren’t introduced to yet
As much as I absolutely HATE losing Ellen and Jo, I can forgive the writer's decision knowing they planned to end the story after this season. Also Mark Sheppard is always a win
You are right. They burned the picture because they had no bodies to burn for a Hunter's Funeral. This was a heart breaking episode. But I loved the introduction of Crowley. He was so cool!
I am in agreement, absolutely love this season. Crowley rocks (Mark Sheppard is fabulous), so does Bobby. Losing Jo and Ellen is still heartbreaking and brings the tears. A little tidbit, the "kick it in the ass" was something that their director (Kim Manners) that passed away in season 4 (I think) used to say, so when Ellen says that it hits me too. I was surprised that the colt did not work, but not surprised because I could not imagine that it would be that easy.
They all say it at various times throughout the series. A___, Jody, C_____, M____, Dean, I think even J____ say it late in the series. Whenever it's called for in the script to say "kick a$$, they say "Kick it in the a$$" instead.
Jo and Dean could have been an a beautiful badass ship IMO. A part of me will always be sad it didn't happen. But I do love her turning him down this episode and then their goodbye KILLS me. Kim Manner's the director/showrunner they lost this season to Cancer is known for saying: Kick it in the ass and that is one of the reasons why they had Ellen say that as her last words. I have always been a bit mad they burned the photo. They better have a copy. I really think the show should have kept Ellen and Jo around way way longer. CROWLEY!!!!!!!!!! Cas tossing Meg on the fire A++
I have a copy of that photo in my study. Devastating to lose Ellen and Jo at once, but at least they got a heroic death. Samantha and Alona are both much loved by the whole fandom and they both still cry watching that scene.
Lucifer is the other Archangel, that’s why he’s so powerful, he’s a fallen Archangel. They were created in this order 1- Michael 2- Lucifer 3- Raphael 4- Gabriel Those are the 4 Archangels
Damn you Jeremy, your commentary is dangerous. There I was, all up in my feels with the Jo and Ellen scene and then you start asking about fire’s effectiveness against a Hellhound and drowning fish. That’s not even touch your “author of the Bible” comment from earlier.
I know it's sad losing Ellen and Jo but listen, I'm just here for Cass and all of his weird and badass shit because I love him so much. Just downing like five shots in a row. Then Jo asking if he's ever heard of a door handle and he pops out of the car like, "Of course I have." I fucking love him so much LMAO.
I like to think that all of the archangels are grouped into one of the 5 things. Maybe the horsemen are the second? God of course being one of them.... I have theories about the other 2 but I can't say what they are yet
@@NebulaMJ I think so too, the Archangels are grouped as one of the 5 things. The horsemen, Eve, God and Amara could be the others.@Jerbear if u see this, please don't google them to avoid spoilers
@@rgarcia1133 I agree that the Archangels count as one even if that wasn't the original intent at the time, because there have been enough characters that could reasonably survive the Colt since then that counting them separate would put the total way above 5. My personal fave theory is that the "5 things in CREATION" line excludes the primordial entities (i.e. God, Amara, Death, the Empty/Shadow) since they would technically pre-date creation and would obviously survive. So my top contenders are the Archangels, Eve, and the Mark's bearer (Cain). With Leviathans, the Shedim, the other 3 Horseman, or the Knights being 1 of the other 2 groups. And honestly there's a REAL good chance Jack survives too, but that's a unique case. ETA: I almost forgot about the Shedim.
One of my favourite episodes of the show, despite the fact that we lose Ellen and Jo, and probably the only episode of the show that consistently bring me to tears. Ellen and Jo's last scene is so incredibly well acted, and despite my annoyance that we lose them, I do think this way was well handled, giving their deaths a proper weight and respect. Aside from that, I also really enjoyed how we saw Bobby be their rock, that's one hell of a man. Castiel's interactions with both Lucifer and Meg were really interesting, and I enjoyed seeing Meg interact with Lucifer as well. There's something about her kind of devotion to Lucifer that I think makes her more interesting. I really wish we could have had more of Ellen and Jo in general, and the brief glimpse we got of them interacting was Castiel was way too small a taste, I needed more of that! And we get introduced to Crowley, one of my favourite characters, in what is probably in my top three of character introductions. Mark Sheppard is amazing in this role!
I couldn’t bring myself to watch this until now. I always cry like a baby when Ellen and Jo die. It’s kind of funny how I always knew the colt wouldn’t work on Lucifer because he’s not a demon. He’s an angel lol. An angel blade would work much better. At least we officially have Crowley. RIP Ellen and Jo. I would have done exactly what Ellen did. I would never leave my kid behind 🥺
Are we not trying to keep Jeremy from knowing things ahead of time? Or are we all going to start commenting on things about Crowley (and other characters that don’t come in for years! 🤬🤬🤬)? Jeremy is VERY good at guessing things ahead of time as it is, could y’all please stop dropping spoilers?
Take my comment with a grain of salt, but I heard the writers stopped putting Jo and Ellen in the show because the fans got jealous essentially and didn’t ship Jo and Dean together. The fandom kind of had this “only Sam and dean matter” mentality and it really hurt the show because we couldn’t get recurring characters ESPECIALLY women.
Supernatural had been called out for always killing off the female heroines. I remember being very upset when they killed off Jo. Also, Dean cannot he Lucy’s vessel. The vessel has to fit the angel and Dean is not a match.
Okay I called it! I knew you were going to love Bobby and Crowley, and I was right, last one I said was Charlie who you don't know yet, I really hope I'll be right!

Yay Crowley introduction
"That's my good girl" gets me everytime 😢
Crowley is the best
I completely BAWLED at Jo and Ellen's death scene. 😢
😭so did I went I first watched the series
I lost it when Dean kissed Jo on the forehead. That's a benediction.
Team Free Will introduction, Crowley introduction, Jo and Ellen death and a Lucy scene all in one episode *chefs kiss* 🤌

When you remember Ellen didn't want to outlive her daughter like she did her husband, that scene hurts even more....😢
That photo of everyone together is legendary ❤️ I loved Ellen and Jo. Glad we got to see Crowley 😊
One of the greatest Supernatural episodes
The 4 Archangels in Supernatural are Michael, Lucifer, Raphael and Gabriel.
Lucifer is the other Archangel, that’s why he’s so powerful, he’s a fallen Archangel.
They were created in this order
1- Michael 2- Lucifer 3- Raphael 4- Gabriel
Those are the 4 Archangels
Crowley was awesome! It's nice to see his nuanced character introduced here and moving forward
4th archangel is Lucifer.
🤣🤣🤣 I'm screaming "the author of the Bible 🤣🤣🤣
It was hilarious whe. That vampire tried to play it off like he was one of the things that can't be killed
I've been waiting for Ellen and Jo's deaths since season 2. With so many seasons everything gets so muddled and I thought they died a lot sooner.
Enter Crowley **hip hip**
Crowely is amazing character in this show.
I thought Lucifer/Samael was the last archangel
Season 5 is really good but really sad.
