Fantastic video, had PT Native thunderbolt setup, got rid of it for a number of reasons, went to Logic, it’s good but just can’t warm to it so looking at coming back to PT so this helped a lot, for me PT is good enough for me now.
Great great video! I normally don’t comment on videos but I really enjoyed this Just found your channel today, (pro tools 2021.6 video) I’ll go through your videos from the past years
Awesome! Thank you! I think over the last few weeks I've found my footing a little bit more and hopefully things might be a bit easier to watch than some of the older videos.
I have a question so if I got my own home Studio so I should just get the pro tools Standard all I’m doing is just becoming a recording artist just recording my own songs plus buying beats to
Standard will be fine for that. Unless your productions get into crazy track counts or you want to work in Dolby atmos, ambisonics or spatial audio I’m not sure you’d need ultimate.
I’m looking to get into the eucon control surface ecosystem (eucosystem lol) and I’ve heard that ultimate has more features regarding the pro tools dock and s1 (not sure tho) For now I’m good with pt vanilla, but when I get the control surfaces that may change if the difference is worth the money
With eucon stuff, if you have an android or iOS phone you can install avid control on that and give it a go. one of the cool features with Eucon is you highlight or select specific track types only (track, aux, VCA or master) so if you have that or a tablet you can get to grips with it and see what it's like (as well as using it for meterbridge mode).
you'll need to install eucon on your computer and pair your phone there. once you've done that in the pro tools menu "setup >> peripherals" choose the ethernet controllers tab and click enable eucon at the bottom.
Bro if I subscribe on Ultimate , will i be able to use pro tool offline?? And what do i need to run Ultimate?? I've got a normal MacBook Pro laptop on Big Sur. Please I need your help please.
Sorry man I missed this somehow. With the license it’ll work offline but you’ll need an ILOK dongle for pro tools On a normal MacBook Pro, what year? 2017 and later probably will be alright? Have a MacBook Pro 13 with i7 and 8GB ram and it struggles a little. Main studio system is flying and having no issues
Seems like if you’re doing music and setting up a at home studio pro tools Standard is fine and you do not need to upgrade unless you want to… what you think?
@@g.o.9513 I need to update this video as things have changed. I’m on ultimate but really now I’d probably be fine on standard. HDX is great system for studios and tracks with the DSP loading / unloading but unless you’re doing atmos stuff I think you’ll be fine.
@@tthetechnician3912 there is an edu discount for ultimate on subscription. You do have to go through verification with avid before you’re able to purchase it. Link below shop.avid.com/ccrz__ProductDetails?cclcl=en_GB&rdp=1630392138796&sku=DYNA20006&viewState=DetailView
@@tthetechnician3912 I think avid have made it harder for people to find perpetual as they appear to be shifting their model towards subscription. Traditionally it was hard to find edu pricing for ultimate. For a perpetual licence it may be worth talking to a retailer

very informative, thank you.
Great stuff - thanks.
Are you an ultimate or standard user? Would you upgrade or are you happy where you are? Is it worth it?

For the amount of money that Avid charge to upgrade to pro tools ultimate. Steinberg Nuendo 11 have more features with a better price tag.
I’m intrigued by nuendo, may have to check it out but ironically the price was what put me off for a long period of time years ago

The difference is the headache of dealing with ProTools. Avid paid me to say this.
Ultimately someone with a decent talking speed. Can leave the Playback speed on Standard.
Ah, have it edited the flow too fast?
