    My friend told me that nutella pound cake is really good, so I decided to make it with cream cheese ;)
    I was right! It absolutely goes great with the fluffy moist cream cheese flavor. YUMMY!!!
    ---------------------------------
    Nutella Swirl Cream Cheese Pound Cake
    Difficulty: Easy
    Time: 1.5hr
    Number of servings: 1 loaf
    Necessary Equipment:
    18×8cm (7x3inch) loaf pan
    electric mixer
    Ingredients:
    100g (3.5oz.) cream cheese *room temperature
    50g (1.8oz.) butter *room temperature
    50g (1.8oz.) granulated sugar
    2 eggs *room temperature
    120g (4.2oz.) cake flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    vanilla extract *if you like
    50g (1.8oz.) nutella
    1 tbsp. milk *soy milk or almond milk is OK
    almond slices *if you like
    Directions:
    1. Line the loaf pan with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F).
    2. Place cream cheese and butter in a bowl. Mix with an electric mixer until creamy.
    3. Add granulated sugar, then mix with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
    4. Add beaten eggs 1/3 at a time, and mix well with an electric mixer until fluffy incorporated.
    5. Mix in a few drops of vanilla extract if you like.
    6. Sift in cake flour and baking powder, then mix with a spatula until just incorporated.
    7. In a different bowl, place nutella and milk, then mix well. Then add 1/4 of the batter (6.) and mix well.
    8. Add the nutella batter back into the cream cheese batter, then cut through the batter for 3 times to lightly swirl. *DO NOT overmix
    9. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top. Drop the pan lightly on the counter for 2-3 times to raise the air bubbles out of the batter. Use the spatula to cut an incision lengthwise down middle of cake to prevent unwanted cracks on the surface. Sprinkle with some almond slices if you like. Bake at 180C (350F) for about 45 minutes. *Cover the cake with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.
    10. Check for doneness with a fresh skewer. Remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool.
    When the cake is completely cool, wrap tightly in plastic wrap. It will last wrapped this way for few days (in the fridge).
    You can also wrap each slices of pound cake individually with a plastic wrap then keep in the freezer for over a week.

    Made this on Friday for my coworkers and they destroyed it. xD
    I'm American, so here's the amounts I used for a loaf.
    1 four ounce bricks Cream Cheese (slightly more than the recipe calls for)
    4 Tablespoons Butter
    1/4 Cup Sugar
    1/2 Cup Cake Flour
    2 Eggs
    1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
    1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    1 1/2 Tablespoons Nutella
    1 Tablespoons Milk
    And some observations/tips for next time.
    - Nutella usually close to the Peanut Butter and Jelly in a typical grocery store. You can also try looking close to where the Ice Cream is. If you can't find it Hershey's Spreadable Chocolate is a substitute.
    - The Nutella was pretty hard to mix into the milk. Next time I'll just jump the batter and milk in and run the electric mixer through it for a few seconds.
    - Sifting the Baking Powder/Flour is mandatory to prevent tasteless flour/powder lumps in the cake, In a pinch you can add both to a separate bowl and run a whisk through it for about a minute
    - I tried it both refrigerated and at room temperature. I think the room temperate cake is better.

And i really like your nutella recipes! Please make more, i enjoy eating nutella -u-

    Why use almond slices? Why not use crushed hazelnuts instead because of the hazelnut in the Nutella?

    • @WujiErTaiji
      @WujiErTaiji 10 лет назад +1

      More depth and different flavors I suppose. If you cook you also should not only use salt. But it sure also works with the hazelnut.

    • @MeliMusicful
      @MeliMusicful 10 лет назад +7

      @switchfootfan44 10 лет назад +3

      I wasn't upset in the first place. I was posing a question as to why use one thing and not the other. Don't be so quick to assume the worst.

    • @celinabelle5058
      @celinabelle5058 10 лет назад

      Mainly for look. Almond slices look nicer than crushed hazelnuts and they're less of a crunch (some ppl you serve it to might not like the crunch). You'll notice most people who bake use Almond slices as the decoration when using nuts (like on the side of cakes). Although, cooking is all about creativity so if you want to use something else, no one will stop you. :) You could even use colorful sprinkles or mini chocolate chips ;)

    • @switchfootfan44
      @switchfootfan44 10 лет назад +1

      I guess I could see that. My idea is to enhance the hazelnut flavor. I like the idea of chocolate chips too.

      maybe you overmixed it, or maybe your eggs were too small and thus didn't add enough hydration, the cream cheese might also have been too stiff, ingredients can vary alot so its best to tweak and experiment a bit

    • @ochikeron

      yes you can for both. cream cheese can be butter but you want to use the same amount of butter as flour (substituting cream cheese with butter may be too much)
