+Sebastian Shaw it only has two bands which are specific to AT&T so if those are supported on the network you choose to use then yes, but that may be unlikely.
I have 2 other questions that I hope you can answer :-) 1: I have just ordered the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition W200E (for Europe) with a NANO-SIM slot. My question is if I just can order another SIM-card for data-sharing via my current data-plan for my phone or if I have to order a complete new SIM-Card with its own data AND number? 2: If I have to order a complete new phone number - how is it best to manage those two phone numbers - No one knows this new Watch number but will always call my phone - so when I do not have my phone with me, probably no one will call the watch - Is there a better solution other than informing my contacts that I now have two numbers?
thanks for the feed back, it helps a lot. I do hope in the future, they would add that feature in.. one more question thu, do you if there gonna have the watch for T-mobile or any other carriers?
Very good video. I have the watch for about a week now, and it is not bad. It has trouble making calls at times, but I did not expect it to be as good at it as my phone. But, I want to know how to access and erase text messages. I was able to erase a message once when I to it by pushing up the small carrot at the bottom of the screen. But, I cannot seem to access my old text messages to erase them. The same with the phone call log, emails, etc. Finally, I saw about not being able to talk through the mike on the earphones to make a call when listening though the blue tooth earbuds, but can you take an incoming call and use the mike, or are you forced to use the speaker? Thanks again.
I appreciate to you to mention bluetooth headset part. There was no information about that part in other's review. I'm on my way to buy urbane 2nd. Thank you.
Ok. I just got off the phone with LG support call center. And they said it will cost me $50.00 to repair my watch band and I all so have to pay for the shipping. All repairs must be sent to them for all repairs. It takes 2 to 3 weeks
Only 3 questions: 1.Can I use it without a SIM card? 2.Can I playback music directly from internal memory to a wireless bluetooth headset ? 3.Does it supports NFC on android 2.0? Thanks
Jeff, first- thank you for the video..very informative. I am thinking of getting the watch, although I have an iPhone 6s, I realize I will not be making/receiving calls. Not a big deal, but, I would like to be informed of either a call coming in, or a text...not so I can use the watch to respond..I just want notifications...Does the watch vibrate when either one is received do you know? Also, would you know if the watch can be upgraded to different watch faces in the future? Thanks! JP
Does it play music from just the watch? You showed it worked through a bluetooth.. but what if you just wanted to listen from the watch speaker while doing drawing or woodwork or something?
+Dry Sift Wizard When I had the watch last year that did not work. I returned my unit when LG recalled them but I ordered a new one now they're back up for order and it should be here later this week. I'll test this out and get back to you!
Great video. How's the battery life in cellular only? Also, are you noticing that Google isn't always working in cellular only? I got the watch yesterday and am noticing some glitches.
+Evan Berry I actually returned this watch when it was recalled by LG last year but I did order a new one that is coming next week. I did have pretty great battery life even in cellular when I had the one last year
+Evan Berry I actually returned this watch when it was recalled by LG last year but I did order a new one that is coming next week. I did have pretty great battery life even in cellular when I had the one last year
quick question: The phone is listed as having stand alone GPS. Does GPS work without cellular connectivity? If for example I have the watch without a sim and I want to track my run with Endomondo, can the watch use the GPS to track my run? I'm asking because not many wearables have both heart rate monitoring and GPS.
+Andreas Kontaxis The GPS only work in certain apps when stand-alone, so far I know it does not work for stand-alone navigation, you must be connected to the phone to use navigation in Maps. I have not used Endomondo (I'll download and give it a try for you), but the GPS does work to track runs in LG Health. Let me know if you have other questions, and thanks for checking out the channel!
+Shaik Afnaan Alaudin In my opinion, the Moto 360 2nd gen is the best watch you can buy right now. It gets great battery life and has a really nice display plus ambient light sensor.
Have you attempted to pair this with the iPhone 6 or later? If so, which features work and which don't work? I'm considering getting this watch but I want to know how compatible it is with iOS. Thanks
+jeremy shephard I'll give it a try pairing to my 6S+ for you when I get home later today, just takes a few minutes because I have to factory reset the whole watch, but I'll let you know! Thanks for checking out the channel!
+Zack Schmiesing To Marshmallow? Absolutely! Google will probably start rolling out 6.0 for other wearables in the next few weeks I imagine. Thanks for checking out the channel!
+Yumsy Lee The first generation is good, but I find the lugs a little bulky. I would recommend it for screen quality and battery life, but if you have a small wrist it looks big.
Yumsy Lee You can get the WiFi version of the Gear S2 without a data plan. It is probably the best watch for smaller wrists I think. I did a review and comparisons of the Gear S2 on my channel.
+Jeff Springer The Bluetooth version or the WIFI has no voice calls, right? Samsung has the worst battery life but I still prefer over any other phone because of its features. I want the watch to have voice calls so I can use it whenever my phone is low batt. =)
+David Sears To be honest I can't remember...this video was so long ago! I sent the watch back when LG did the recall because AT&T offered me a $200 bill credit to send it back in. I did order a new one since they've gone on sale again and it will be here later this week. I do plan to make more videos on this watch when I get the new one in!
I dont understand how it does not reroute calls to bluetooth headset... thats actually a huge make/break factor for decision making. Is that an issue with the gear s? or even with other smartwatches that dont have their own sim and rely on communicating with the phone? (wondering if its an android wear thing or specifically this watch/LG in general)
+taimaishu99 It is a pretty big issue, but I'm sure it can be fixed easily via software update. This is not an issue with the Gear S, I have one and use my bluetooth headset all the time to take calls from the watch number. The headset works fine for music so I assume they will fix this soon. Thanks for checking out the video!
thanks for getting back to me on the gear s, and no problem about checking out the videos, great work. also I'm sure a software update would be easily done it just seems like a big oversight , I just hope it doesn't have a slow roll-out rate or idk what would even happen if I purchased it (I'd have to get the AT&T version and slip in my T-mobile sim, but does it update by carrier? seems troublesome at least for now)
You don't...but sadly LG cancelled sales of this watch because of a display defect, so you can no longer purchase it. I returned mine because they were not planning to support it with software updates sadly. Thanks for checking out my channel!
Jeff, thanks for the informative videos you provide. Question, am I going to lose any functionality by using a galaxy note 4 with this watch? I was looking at some version of lg health yesterday on Google Play and it said my phone was not compatible with that app? I was wondering if lg was playing like Samsung and making some functions/apps incompatible with other makers phones? I am not crazy about the looks and problems with the Samsung gear S2, and the Gear S1 just send to big for me.
don't worry , the LG health phone app is only for LG phones and comes pre-installed on my g4. However the watch version of the app works independently and therefore no functionality will be lost when using any other phone.
+Rsmin You shouldn't lose any functionality, but this watch does have quite a few limitations as a stand alone device compared to the Gear S, in my opinion anyway. So far I have had some reliability issues in getting notifications to pull down from the cloud when I am away from my phone and using the network connectivity on the watch. Thanks for checking out the video and channel, let me know if you have other questions!
+Jeff Springer , thanks for the response. the original gear S was just too big for me and the new one is too small plus I am seeing a lot of issues with that one. Also, I am getting tired of Samsung so looking to maybe the LG V10 next year, so that is the reason for me checking out the LG watch. Not my first run at android wear. Thanks again
+David Sears Unfortunately it seems not, the watch redirects you to bluetooth settings to connect a device. See my conversation in comments below with Kevin for more details.
+Jeff Springer The reason I ask is that Android Wear 1.4 is said to bring sounds and phone call support to watches with speakerssuch as the Huawei watch and Zenwatch 2. Can it be the difference is that the Urbane is LTE while the other smartwatches are bluetooth?
David Sears You can take a phone call over the watch just fine using speaker, just won't let you play music. It also rings when you get a call. I don't see any reason why they can't allow music to play over speaker, I'd guess it will be fixed in software update. Seems silly to not allow it.
Hey. So it's been a few months and with the official release coming, I'm looking to get one. How do you still like it after 4 months? I currently have the regular urbane watch and find it to be pretty good. Thanks!
+Kayden Tyler To be honest, I shipped mine back to LG when they requested I do so due to the recall. They also offered me a $200 bill credit to comply with the recall so you can't beat that! I did use it for 2 weeks and it was great. I've already preordered another one now that it is back on sale, so once i get the new one in I'll have a full review on this watch on my channel for you to check out!
+Jeff Springer I can't decide which carried to get it from. The price diff is crazy! Verizon has lost their minds! I may go with att but I'm gonna go prepaid either way. Wish I could use project Fi with this.
I agree. Although since I have Verizon on my iPhone with unlimited data, I may keep it in the running. I would like to use the watch as a stand alone phone. To be continued. LOL!
+Simon Hutmacher In the AT&T variant i have I tried putting in one of my T-Mo sims and I could get it to recognize the sim but I only saw 3G connection not LTE while using the T-mo. Thanks for checking out the channel, let me know if you have any other questions!
+John Paul Crabbe This watch is $300 off contract at AT&T, it's $399 unlocked from Amazon (link above in description but they are out of stock right now), and Verizon is selling for a whopping $499 off contract!
Hi, do you know if lg fixed using bluetooth headset for calling as well? Especially for a smartwatch it's important to be able to use bluetooth for calls! Thanks, Yiannis
+Yumsy Lee Well, you can't buy the 2nd Gen any longer. LG cancelled the launch of this watch due to a display defect they noticed that causes issues over time. I had to return my device due to the recall to AT&T. It did require a data plan to use the LTE feature.
+Jeff Springer I wanna get the Gear S2 but it sucks with the monthly data plan. How can they ever come up with that one? I dont like Apple Watch but it is great having it. Just buy the watch and it works.
Another reviewer said he recommends to not use it in the shower, is there an issue with it's IP rating? Have you submerged your device with any issues?
+TJ Dash I've taken mine in the shower, and gotten plenty of water on it in the rain, I haven't had any issues with either so far. Thanks for checking out the video!
+TJ Dash I have read (not really confirmed) that hot, soapy water can present more of a challenge, probably because it has a greater chance of degrading a seal. My watch repair shop suggests not bathing or showering even with my "real" watch (a Tag Searacer) to maintain the integrity of the seal. It may be out of an overabundance of caution, but I'd probably skip the intentional dousing with water when possible, but I wouldn't worry about wearing it in the rain, etc. I see Jeff indicated he's worn it in the shower, but I personally wouldn't do that unless I had to (showering somewhere I didn't have a safe place to leave it).
+Greg Hausman I think you're right about soap...I do try to be careful if I shower with the watch to not get soap on or around it. I always shower with these things that claim they're waterproof just to test, I really wouldn't do it either regularly if I weren't doing it for my review purposes.
+Ramon Hall it did not offer that functionality, however do note that LG cancelled the release of this watch due to a recall due to display defect. I had to return mine to AT&T for that reason as well.
+IDLE 0095 (Robert) What do you mean? Do you have a sim in yours? Is it connected to wifi? The bluetooth icon was because I had it connected to headphones, you need to connect it to an audio source aside from your phone to see the bluetooth icon.
Hey Jeff, I want to use my sim card from my phone so I can switch between my phone and watch, but don't I have to have my phone connected to a data plan and the watch connected to a data plan? Will that not work or can I pop my t-mobile sim into my watch and use the watch with my phone plan? Trying to save money while still taking advantage of the LTE functionality.
+Drew Doescher Well, bad news is, LG canceled the launch of this watch today due to a un-named hardware issue. But, I was able to switch sim between my phone and watch it worked fine!
+Jeff Springer wow I'm so mad. Do you know how long until it will take to fix and be ready to sell..if not will you keep us updated. thx for the reply, really hope it's out before Christmas.
+Drew Doescher It is pretty annoying. I wrote up everything I currently know over a High on Android if you want to check it out: bit.ly/1NG4zVW, sadly it may not be coming back available...but I'll definitely keep updating over at High on Android when we get news!
+Drew Doescher I'm not sure yet, if the recall is due to a safety issue, I obviously want to return it. I'm going to wait and see what comes out in the next few days and decide.
can you use voice commands to make a call? too bad you cant program the buttons. I really like being able to hit the button and speak to call on the gear s
+Jeff Springer how would that process go... will it wak up when i say that or will there be several touch commands to get google to listen. samsungs gear s is just one touch button to enter voice comands
hi...first, i'm sorry for my band english...i read on internet that LG retract sales of LG watch urband 2nd edition...is that true?if yes how you can get that watch?where is the location of simcard?what is type of simcard?micro or nano or what?how we can insert that simcard?sorry for ask lot of question...thanks...
+Angga Zan LG recalled the watch due to a long-term display defect that deteriorates the quality of the screen over time. I ordered the watch before it was recalled from AT&T, but I did return my watch to AT&T once they were recalled because I did not want to have any issues with my display over time. The simcard on the watch is inside the back panel, there is a little piece that allows you to unscrew the back and insert the nano sim. If you look at my first video on the channel for the Urbane LTE I show the sim card tool in the unboxing.
+erddeo Yes, you can use the watch like any other Android Wear watch, it does give you a brief error about not having a sim card in but it goes away eventually and you can use it as you'd expect as long as you have it paired to your phone. Thanks for checking out the video!
Does the lg urbane 2 has sound for notifications ? , when you get some kind of notification on your watch does it only vibrate or has a sound ? Like the Apple Watch for example . Thanks
+Asaf Noiberger No sounds for notifications, still vibrate only on the Urbane 2 so far. Thanks for checking out the channel, let me know if you have other questions!
so I pulled the trigger on this device. still learning about it. confused about apps for it. I downloaded adriod ware. under essential watch apps, i see alot of stuff that isnt for watches??? is there a way to narrow down to only what is for watchs?
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center Those are the apps that work with the watch, which means it has a watch notification compatible component. Unlike the Samsung watches there aren't really many stand alone apps for Android wear...mainly because this is the first watch to ever have stand alone capability. The bad news is that LG canceled launch of the watch today due to an un-named hardware issue, so we might want to get our money back. I'm still trying to find out what that issue is.
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center Definitely will keep you updated. I wrote up everything we know over at HighonAndroid, including my thoughts on issues I've experienced here: bit.ly/1NG4zVW
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center I really like the watch. wonder what the hardware issue is that they cant fix whats out there vs recalling them. I know the charger need help.
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center My main concern is that large companies don't do a recall this big unless it is something that is unsafe, at least in general. I'll decide to return mine or not depending on what comes out as the reason for the recall over the next few days.
+Jabriel Carter The only way to text on Android Wear currently is to use voice commands, you can't send a text with keyboard input on the watch. This is one place where Gear S excels over Android Wear if you want that feature. Thanks for checking out the channel, appreciate it!
also does it pair with any other LG network provider as long as its LG like i have Gear S sprint paired with Galaxy Note Edge sprint but it can also pair with another Samsung device regardless of the service provider
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center I got mine from AT&T because it was cheaper and I have a line there, but the unlocked one is better if you don't since I tried a T-Mo sim card and could only get 3G in my AT&T variant so far. Thanks for checking out the video and channel!
+Jeff Springer chating with at&t. they say , if i select no annual contract. they say I can cancel the plan w/o termination fees. Dont trust these celluar compainies. anyone here can confrim this. or am I headed for a big headache?
Zombie Outbreak Control Center what they say is correct. Mine is not on contract either. If you pay $299 you won't be on contract. If you pay the $199 that's what locks you into a 2 year agreement.
I live in the Netherlands, I heard this watch will be available in Europe. Can I use it without a SIM card and make calls via my phone SIM card with my watch?
Do you know if there is anyway to get a keyboard for the watch? like instead of doing the voice to text you have a keyboard just like on the phone or just like how they have it on the Samsung gear S2? I can't use the voice to text. If so what is the best one to use?
I scored 3 days with light use. I did turn it into theater mode during night 11pm-7am, always on display, 24hrs a day, cellular off, Bluetooth all the time. With reasonable heavy use, always on display, it lasted me a whole day, and died on the second day morning.
+IDLE 0095 (Robert) Just vibrates. You can enable some more sounds in accessibility options but thats mainly for visually impaired people. For now sounds are really only ringtone for calls and music if use the built in speaker. Thanks for checking out the video and channel, let me know if you have other questions!
this is the I have been looking for you. I just need to know one thing will it work with Verizon will I be able to use my Verizon Wireless SIM card can you please answer very quickly I plan to purchase this LG watch tomorrow thank you!*
Verizon uses different frequencies...I believe CDMA. You must buy a VERIZON version of the watch part number W200V. Verizon charges double what AT&T charges, but their monthly service is only $5
+jeff springer can i use this watch like a regular use phone with pairing with any phone and can i make a call on it means does it have mic to speak.I m new in smart watch world so i asked this question
The asus zenwatch 2 lets you reject incoming calls by covering your phone with the other hand, also the same gesture wakes the phone or sends it to sleep. Does the urbane use these same functions?
+James Stockett LG watches work better with LG phones in the sense that the stock apps integrate better. LG Call for instance works really well with LG phones and the watch together. It is also easier to manage your health data if you use LG's health app too. One thing to note is that LG did cancel the launch of this watch, so if you haven't bought it yet, you won't be able to get the Urbane LTE. I returned mine to AT&T because there was a recall due to display defect.
I did hear that from a Authorized dealer. What watch do you recommend in place of my gear s with a premium look at feel that also work with lg and has a speaker?
+James Stockett The Huawei Watch has a very premium look to it, and from what I've heard, it feels great, too. It has a speaker that will be enabled in the Marshmallow update, and it will work with any phone on Android 4.3+.
James Stockett sorry I didn't see this follow up post. Peter is correct, the Huawei Watch has a speaker inside that should become usable once the watch gets 6.0 update. The only watch currently with a speaker that is in the same form factor is the Gear S2 3G which I don't particularly love.
can i use this as just a smart watch as in can i not use it as a phone but use it just to recive call and sms and email notifacations with out putting a sim card in it?
+Muhammed Yusuf YILMAZ In the AT&T variant i have I tried putting in one of my T-Mo sims and I could get it to recognize the sim but I only saw 3G connection not LTE while using the T-mo. Thanks for checking out the channel, let me know if you have any other questions!
Actually you can, but you MUST use other LG bands. I recently purchased a cool leather clad one on ebay for about $55. They have the antenna in them. www.ebay.com/itm/262789202496?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
hi there cellunlocker.net.... tech question for you... i have the lg urbane 2nd edition smarthwatch & want to unlock it... can you tell me how i can get it to work on sprint network? their office say that the LG sim card they have will not be effective as at&t has a different network then theirs so swapping out the sim card doesn't seem an option... what else can I do and what will it give me?
Hi Jeff I am having trouble getting Google voice search and map to work when not attached to the phone -like directions from here to work it just says trying retry etc This watch is CDMA calls are fine and works fine when attached to my iphone or note 4 i live in the uk is this the wrong watch model number w200 wcdma 2100 lte 1800/2100 that is what is on the box thanks for any help regards BOB
+robbie vernon its because the watch uses A-GPS so when not connected to the phone you won't get reliable results in apps requiring GPS in my experience anyway
I pre-ordered one of these from verizon than apparently LG goofed up with faulty parts and recalled all of them back. So I bought a tag heuer connected at least the Swiss can get it right
+Jeff Springer the only one that has a stand alone now is samsung gear s and s2 I have the s2 and had the Gear s i wanted a android wear 3g_4g watch now that there's none coming out I opted for a luxury watch brand for when I take my lady out
+FishySmallFins HSS Network You need a phone for the initial setup then it could be used standalone, however LG discontinued sales of this watch sadly.
+Jeff Springer 😱 do you know if there are any other watches that can be used without the phone like this one? That's a feature I would love. The only reason I was getting a watch
S. Martin Lou-C Gear S and Gear S2 both have 3G cellular models. This watch is better in my opinion as it is the only watch with LTE, and I also prefer Android Wear to Tizen.
this is a smart watch I have been waiting for and looking for all this time I'm so glad I saw your video I just need to know one thing will it work with Verizon Wireless because I plan to purchase the Smartwatch tomorrow so can you let me know right away will I be able to use a Verizon Wireless SIM card please get back to me and answer this question quickly thank you again so much!*
Thank you for making this video Jeff; not much out there about this device yet and I appreciate the time you took to make your videos.
I wish that they would release a bluetooth version. It's absolutely stunning.
+daver787 At this point it looks like they might not even re-release the LTE version after the recall, it is a nice watch so that's a shame.
+Sebastian Shaw it only has two bands which are specific to AT&T so if those are supported on the network you choose to use then yes, but that may be unlikely.
Apologies Jeff , I didn't check the release date of your video.
I have 2 other questions that I hope you can answer :-)
1: I have just ordered the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition W200E (for Europe) with a NANO-SIM slot. My question is if I just can order another SIM-card for data-sharing via my current data-plan for my phone or if I have to order a complete new SIM-Card with its own data AND number?

Jan Tønder Talk to your carrier they might organise two sim cards with one number
Hey Jeff can I just confirm that the watch has GPS and that the android wear version will allow you to install runtastic?
thanks for the feed back, it helps a lot.
I do hope in the future, they would add that feature in..
one more question thu, do you if there gonna have the watch for T-mobile or any other carriers?
great! I actually bought it already, but I'm having trouble with the calling using Bluetooth.
Thank you for your good presentation. Is there a Hotspot function available?
Very good video. I have the watch for about a week now, and it is not bad. It has trouble making calls at times, but I did not expect it to be as good at it as my phone. Ok. I just got off the phone with LG support call center. And they said it will cost me $50.00 to repair my watch band and I all so have to pay for the shipping. All repairs must be sent to them for all repairs.
It takes 2 to 3 weeks
Never disappointed. GREAT video.
Thanks for the support as always!
Only 3 questions:
1.Can I use it without a SIM card?
2.Can I playback music directly from internal memory to a wireless bluetooth headset ?
3.Does it supports NFC on android 2.0?
Thanks
Thanks for the video! In the About section, did you happen to catch the SoC this is running on?
+Keith Achorn It had Snapdragon 400, I returned mine to AT&T when they recalled it or I would give you a screenshot with the exact info.
Great video. I am having trouble deciding between Samsung watch or LG. I have a S6 Edge Plus, may I ask your opinion? thanks
Jeff, first- thank you for the video..very informative. I am thinking of getting the watch, although I have an iPhone 6s, I realize I will not be making/receiving calls. what is the best smartwatch 2016 jeff? im looking foward to buying one
+Shaik Afnaan Alaudin In my opinion, the Moto 360 2nd gen is the best watch you can buy right now. It gets great battery life and has a really nice display plus ambient light sensor.
Do you have any problems trying to play music with spotify?
Have you attempted to pair this with the iPhone 6 or later? If so, which features work and which don't work? I'm considering getting this watch but I want to know how compatible it is with iOS. Thanks

+Zack Schmiesing To Marshmallow? Absolutely! Google will probably start rolling out 6.0 for other wearables in the next few weeks I imagine. Thanks for checking out the channel!
+Jeff Springer yeah, no problem. Very informative video. Definitely earned a sub.
making calls without phone is a big leap ,foe smartwatches.good job, LG!
Is the first generation better? Would you recommend it?
+Yumsy Lee The first generation is good, but I find the lugs a little bulky. I would recommend it for screen quality and battery life, but if you have a small wrist it looks big.
+Jeff Springer I have a small wrist. Im using the S6 Edge Plus. What smart watch would u recommend without paying monthly data plan?
Yumsy Lee You can get the WiFi version of the Gear S2 without a data plan. It is probably the best watch for smaller wrists I think. I did a review and comparisons of the Gear S2 on my channel.
+Jeff Springer The Bluetooth version or the WIFI has no voice calls, right? Samsung has the worst battery life but I still prefer over any other phone because of its features. I want the watch to have voice calls so I can use it whenever my phone is low batt. =)
Jeff,
Are you using the largest font on the watch?
+David Sears To be honest I can't remember...this video was so long ago! I sent the watch back when LG did the recall because AT&T offered me a $200 bill credit to send it back in. I did order a new one since they've gone on sale again and it will be here later this week. I do plan to make more videos on this watch when I get the new one in!
And can I pair it with iPad/iPhone/iPod via Android Wear?
Thanks for checking out the video!
thanks for getting back to me on the gear s, and no problem about checking out the videos, great work.
also I'm sure a software update would be easily done it just seems like a big oversight , I just hope it doesn't have a slow roll-out rate or idk what would even happen if I purchased it (I'd have to get the AT&T version and slip in my T-mobile sim, but does it update by carrier? seems troublesome at least for now)
Very informative reviews. Good presentation. Thanks.
I get notifications, but seem to have to open the phone to read it. Is this correct? Also any news on 2.0?
do u need to have your phone with you all the time like with the apple watch to use it?
+SuperArjun90 Thanks for the info...
+Rsmin Np
Hey Jeff did you see my comment about the name of the app I recommended to try with the iPad Pro?
+Ttomisabeast I did, I downloaded it but haven't had a chance to play with it yet.
Can you play music from the watch speaker? Just curious.
+Jeff Springer Okay, thanks for your time Jeff. Have a great day!
just saw your video and I'm wondering if I can use Bluetooth headset to make and answer calls? I'm thinking about getting the LG tone infinim.
+Walter Perez Yes you can now do this since the re-release
Can we activate a personal wifi hotspot from the watch ?
Kayden Tyler I'm going to get ATT, it works fine when paired with any phone still. I wouldn't pay Verizon $500 that's too much.
I agree. Although since I have Verizon on my iPhone with unlimited data, I may keep it in the running. I would like to use the watch as a stand alone phone. To be continued. LOL!
Can you tell me if the Watch is SIM-locked? Cause I wanne order one for Europe. Thank you
+Simon Hutmacher In the AT&T variant i have I tried putting in one of my T-Mo sims and I could get it to recognize the sim but I only saw 3G connection not LTE while using the T-mo. Thanks for checking out the channel, let me know if you have any other questions!
+Jeff Springer jthis reply i'm getting the watch 5hrs from now....love the fact u can use other sim cards in it
Wayne Just any good?
Great review as always what's the price of the watch I've ordered the moto 360 2nd gen not sure I should of waited for this watch instead
+John Paul Crabbe This watch is $300 off contract at AT&T, it's $399 unlocked from Amazon (link above in description but they are out of stock right now), and Verizon is selling for a whopping $499 off contract!
+Jeff Springer 👍👍👍👍👍
oh , forgot to mention two of the three rubberized sections of the button fell off also.
Hi, do you know if lg fixed using bluetooth headset for calling as well?
Especially for a smartwatch it's important to be able to use bluetooth for calls!
Thanks,
Yiannis
Thanks, I know because I already bought it ...
How about in terms of functionality? Does the 2nd Gen needs a monthly data plan like the Gear S2?
+Yumsy Lee Well, you can't buy the 2nd Gen any longer. LG cancelled the launch of this watch due to a display defect they noticed that causes issues over time. I had to return my device due to the recall to AT&T. It did require a data plan to use the LTE feature.
+Jeff Springer I wanna get the Gear S2 but it sucks with the monthly data plan. How can they ever come up with that one? I dont like Apple Watch but it is great having it. Just buy the watch and it works.
+Yumsy Lee You don't have to get a data plan to get the Gear S2...there is a wi-fi only variant that works same as Apple Watch.
Will I still get the alerts without a data plan for the watch?
Hi, is there any calling watch with Sim Card slot, and we can talk through handsfree?
Thanks for the good info, I have been trying to find out how to work this TOO smart watch.
I always shower with these things that claim they're waterproof just to test, I really wouldn't do it either regularly if I weren't doing it for my review purposes.
i have just one question. if you have pictures at the galerie on you phone, can you see them in the watch. if not can you send them to the watch
Can you use it as a hot spot?
+Ramon Hall it did not offer that functionality, however do note that LG cancelled the release of this watch due to a recall due to display defect. I had to return mine to AT&T for that reason as well.
why does yours look so different then mine? the pull down area looks different on mine. all mine shows is a do not disturb and no Bluetooth icon.
Okay cool thx. What will you do with yours, keep it or try and get a refund?
+Drew Doescher I'm not sure yet, if the recall is due to a safety issue, I obviously want to return it. I'm going to wait and see what comes out in the next few days and decide.
Thanks dude you earned a sub
+TheRussianGamer 2 Thank you for watching, and for the sub, appreciate it!
can you use voice commands to make a call?
too bad you cant program the buttons. I really like being able to hit the button and speak to call on the gear s
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center Yes you can say "OK Google, call Mom" and it will do what you expect.
+Jeff Springer how would that process go... will it wak up when i say that or will there be several touch commands to get google to listen. samsungs gear s is just one touch button to enter voice comands
Google voice is always on you don't need to touch anything just say OK Google and you're good to start talking!
hi...first, i'm sorry for my band english...i read on internet that LG retract sales of LG watch urband 2nd edition...is that true?if yes how you can get that watch?where is the location of simcard?what is type of simcard?micro or nano or what?how we can insert that simcard?sorry for ask lot of question...thanks...
+Jeff Springer hi...thx for your answer...
Hi Jeff,
Can you still make and receive calls through the watch without a sim card and just having it paired to your phone via bluetooth?
+erddeo Yes, you can use the watch like any other Android Wear watch, it does give you a brief error about not having a sim card in but it goes away eventually and you can use it as you'd expect as long as you have it paired to your phone. Thanks for checking out the video!
@@jspring86 does this watch work with the Wear Video Tube app? I want to be able to watch my RUclips videos on it.
+Jeff Springer
Yikes!!! yeah, post what you find. I got 14 day to return it.
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center Definitely will keep you updated. I wrote up everything we know over at HighonAndroid, including my thoughts on issues I've experienced here: bit.ly/1NG4zVW
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center
I really like the watch. wonder what the hardware issue is that they cant fix whats out there vs recalling them. I know the charger need help.
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center My main concern is that large companies don't do a recall this big unless it is something that is unsafe, at least in general. I'll decide to return mine or not depending on what comes out as the reason for the recall over the next few days.
what does the texting system Looks like on the watch?
+Jabriel Carter The only way to text on Android Wear currently is to use voice commands, you can't send a text with keyboard input on the watch. This is one place where Gear S excels over Android Wear if you want that feature. Thanks for checking out the channel, appreciate it!
Can be use for wifi hotspot ? Tethering
also does it pair with any other LG network provider as long as its LG
like i have Gear S sprint paired with Galaxy Note Edge sprint but it can also pair with another Samsung device regardless of the service provider
you purchased your from amazon or at&t?
+Zombie Outbreak Control Center I got mine from AT&T because it was cheaper and I have a line there, but the unlocked one is better if you don't since I tried a T-Mo sim card and could only get 3G in my AT&T variant so far. Thanks for checking out the video and channel!
+Jeff Springer
chating with at&t. they say , if i select no annual contract. they say I can cancel the plan w/o termination fees.
+Jeff Springer so I can just cancel the contract and use as bluetooth, correct?
I live in the Netherlands, I heard this watch will be available in Europe. Can I use it without a SIM card and make calls via my phone SIM card with my watch?
+Tijmen Ennik Yes, you can easily take calls from phone if you don't have a sim in watch!
can you listen to music with the speaker?
is the watch water proof ?
Do you know if there is anyway to get a keyboard for the watch? like instead of doing the voice to text you have a keyboard just like on the phone or just like how they have it on the Samsung gear S2? I can't use the voice to text. If so what is the best one to use?
do u pair this by bluetooth or do u actually use the service provider
Battery life as a bluetooth companion only? Thanks
I scored 3 days with light use. I did turn it into theater mode during night 11pm-7am, always on display, 24hrs a day, cellular off, Bluetooth all the time.
With reasonable heavy use, always on display, it lasted me a whole day, and died on the second day morning.
can you tell me of there is sound when you get a notification or does it just vibrate?
+IDLE 0095 (Robert) Just vibrates. You can enable some more sounds in accessibility options but thats mainly for visually impaired people. For now sounds are really only ringtone for calls and music if use the built in speaker. Thanks for checking out the video and channel, let me know if you have other questions!
+Jeff Springer man that's the only reason I wanted it. looks like I'm returning it and getting the 3G Samsung.
+Jeff Springer what about music
Wich one do You preffer this one por gear S3 frontier
Does the watch have a gps ? There are apps that can track family members. But the device would need gps built in. Would this watch work?
Does it work with every SIM card?
+Viktor Kotev I don't know about every sim card but I've tested with T-Mobile Sim and it works fine.
is it waterproof?
thanks
+Kevin Woodberry No problem, hope it was helpful. Let me know if there is anything else you want to know!
Jeff Springer does the speaker play music via Google play music
+Kevin Woodberry sadly not yet, if you try to do that right now it will tell you to go to bluetooth settings and connect a device.
Jeff Springer that's disappointing in the LG video it showed this feature
+Jeff Springer that sucks LG advertising this in their video as a feature
How did you get a Surround? Those have been sold out for months O__O
I bought it at launch, just got around to unboxing it recently as I had a lot of other reviews to take care of first.
Jeff Springer Man I have been looking at it since it first sold out when it came out and it never got in stock again.
this is the I have been looking for you.
What! nobody knows?
+Bruce Webb lg urbane is android wear, and zenwatch is android wear too.. Big YES..
but it is not yet available on amazon :(
+Marko ' S admin I know I think it will be available again soon on Amazon!
I wanted to know does it work better with using an lg phone or just any smarting phone running 4.3 and higher? i will be using it on my LG v10
Jeff Springer I agree
can i use this as just a smart watch as in can i not use it as a phone but use it just to recive call and sms and email notifacations with out putting a sim card in it?
i wondering if i can put in any sim cart i want ?
+Muhammed Yusuf YILMAZ In the AT&T variant i have I tried putting in one of my T-Mo sims and I could get it to recognize the sim but I only saw 3G connection not LTE while using the T-mo. Thanks for checking out the channel, let me know if you have any other questions!
Is this functionable with Samsung galaxy s8
Dadoope World yes
Can I use Spotify with this watch? Thanks
+Raymond Cabatana You can control music on Spotify with any Wear device for sure!
Can we use sim cards from other countries?
+Ankit Bhatia yes
Can you download any game/app on this smartwatch Please reply
Whats that watchface? Can u give me the link. Thnx
+Aksh Babbar It is called minimal and elegant, you can find it here: bit.ly/1Ogg0Gs
Jeff Springer thnx
Can you remove/change the straps?
nope
Actually you can, but you MUST use other LG bands. I recently purchased a cool leather clad one on ebay for about $55. They have the antenna in them. www.ebay.com/itm/262789202496?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Why there is no option for call from phone in my urbane 2. Is it a defect or sth?
I wonder the same.
Does it support Soundcloud
hi there cellunlocker.net.... tech question for you... i have the lg urbane 2nd edition smarthwatch & want to unlock it... can you tell me how i can get it to work on sprint network? their office say that the LG sim card they have will not be effective as at&t has a different network then theirs so swapping out the sim card doesn't seem an option... what else can I do and what will it give me?
Has anyone kept the watch & had any problems with it so far?
Hi Jeff I am having trouble getting Google voice search and map to work when not attached to the phone -like directions from here to work it just says trying retry etc This watch is CDMA calls are fine and works fine when attached to my iphone or note 4 i live in the uk is this the wrong watch model number w200 wcdma 2100 lte 1800/2100 that is what is on the box thanks for any help regards BOB
+robbie vernon its because the watch uses A-GPS so when not connected to the phone you won't get reliable results in apps requiring GPS in my experience anyway
+Jeff are you sure that the link you gave is correct to buy
can i make connect from my lg 2nd to two phones in same time ??
does it support android wear 2.0 ?
Where is playstore in watch ????
I pre-ordered one of these from verizon than apparently LG goofed up with faulty parts and recalled all of them back.
So I bought a tag heuer connected at least the Swiss can get it right
I'm sure the Tag connected is a great watch, but at 3 times the price with no stand alone LTE connectivity is a bummer.
+Jeff Springer the only one that has a stand alone now is samsung gear s and s2 I have the s2 and had the Gear s i wanted a android wear 3g_4g watch now that there's none coming out I opted for a luxury watch brand for when I take my lady out
+TheMetalmachine467 I feel you, I might still get a Tag Connected too looks nice, I'm still using my Gear S for stand alone so I got that covered.
do you need a phone to have this watch
+FishySmallFins HSS Network You need a phone for the initial setup then it could be used standalone, however LG discontinued sales of this watch sadly.
+Jeff Springer 😱 do you know if there are any other watches that can be used without the phone like this one? That's a feature I would love. The only reason I was getting a watch
S. Martin Lou-C Gear S and Gear S2 both have 3G cellular models. This watch is better in my opinion as it is the only watch with LTE, and I also prefer Android Wear to Tizen.
Are you able to make calls using a blue tooth headset now?
+W T yep!
can it be used as phone perfectly without any smartphone?
김선유 yes
this is a smart watch I have been waiting for and looking for all this time I'm so glad I saw your video I just need to know one thing will it work with Verizon Wireless because I plan to purchase the Smartwatch tomorrow so can you let me know right away will I be able to use a Verizon Wireless SIM card please get back to me and answer this question quickly thank you again so much!*
+Blair Fox Love if it bought at verizon than yes but if bought at tmobile or att than it will only work with tmobile or att
