I get a dopamine hit whenever uthermal uploads ghost to grandmaster.
Only just found the series, binged ALL of it and then this dropped, so I totally second this :D

The 1st player typed "Stop" but forgot to change keyboard layout so he ended up with "ыещз" witch is gibberish in Russian
Google translate says it's Kirgisian (Spelling?) for "Yes sir!" or simpler "yes".
No meaning in Russian. so it seems not to be Russian.
Man let me explain you. If you google "russian keyboard layout" you will see that russian keyboards has two alphabet letters for each button, russian and english one. You can switch between them any time but sometimes people forget to do it. For example sometimes you want to type "gg" in chat but with wrong layout you type "пп" instead. This time a guy wanted to type "stop" but he typed "ыещз" instead just because of russian layout turned on. So it shouldnt mean anything because it is just four random letters. Did i explain you well?

I just said that google translate actually detected a language. You might be right, but there is more than one option here.
@Jack McLane Google translate is the last thing you should believe when it comes to translations. Also there are many times more Russian players than Kyrgyzyian. Like, a few thousand times more.
@@greenlitlleman Google translate usually works really well. But when you just give it 4 random letters, it is pretty likely that it means something in one language simply by chance. Which happened here. Try it. I just tried 4 times and it returned something 3 times.
I wouldn't trust it with a legal text, but it is usually better than the translations from chinese manuals and often enough the only way to read something. Because I don't speak many languages. Let alone all of them. ;)
The year is 2025. All 200 spots of grandmaster are filled by uThermal's challenge accounts. All pro players have retired because uThermal has completed starcraft. The world's greatest scientists have worked together to create a cloning device so that uThermal could be cloned and play against himself. All tournaments now only consist of uThermal playing against himself with his self applied rules of each challenge. Even the elderly and sick tune in to watch so that their cancer is healed and they return to their youth. The energy crisis has also solved as it was found that uThermal's brain creates enough energy to meet the worlds energy demands. All hail our lord and savior uThermal

That's one of the best SC games I've ever watched. You're doing a lot more than just 'massing ghosts' - those tactics and micro control are superb. Thanks for this 👏👏👏🏆
last game was absolutely amazing, from the nukes to the marines evaporating under ghost fire. by far the best ghost to gm game so far
I'd love to watch the replays of the epic games like the last one, from the opponent's point of view.

One late-game adaptation: Allow up to 2 BCs with your ghosts, purely to yamato detector structures/units, then blink back home

I feel like this challenge could also be called "Mengsk to Grandmaster"
Metal-league tips: Use scouting SCV to put a red spray (STOP sign? balloon?) in their bases, then drop nukes on it. Camouflages the red dot a bit.
Another not-pro tip is to drop 2 nukes on the same spot from different angles, so when they kill one ghost they get careless
I wanna try this but I keep forgetting xD, I do think it might be a bit obvious if I spray a red sign in his base and then nuke on it later lol

Hey I notice at 16:29 you deselect your floating cc before setting the rally point of the main and natural bases to your 3rd's patch. Did you know that you can use "set rally point" (usually hotkeyed on Y) with them all selected to do so without move commanding the floating cc?
Thats a great tip actually, I do think after 12 years of getting used to mechanics it would probably take me more time having to remember what hotkey set really point is (literally never used that hotkey) though xD
@@uThermal When I discovered it, I thought there was a chance that nobody knew about it, so I checked a bunch of streams and I think the only player that I found that used it was heromarine. So then it blew my mind that I had watched maybe 20+ hours of heromarine's stream but never noticed that he did that little trick lol.
I completely get that habits are hard to break though, I've told some friends about it but I didn't expect them to do it because of the effort it takes to make it a habit for a small thing. If you want to see another trick that probably isn't worth doing, check my last video. You can actually make mules finish an extra trip.

I love this series! Nukes on multiple bases simultaneously is the most hilarious thing you can do in SC2. So impressed by your micro and detection agility. Also, the EMP on a CC is so devastatingly delicious. We all want to see more nukes at the same time. How many could you get away with? I also don't think we would cry if you wanted a tank and liberator for defense if you're going for like 20 nukes at once :D good on ya

really enjoy your videos, I haven't watched SC2 content in quite sometime, but your videos are getting me hooked!
Would suggest adding vikings. Especially LANDED vikings, just cause no one ever uses them and they are cool.
But also, because it makes sense: they are good vs mechanical, what your snipes are not and can serve as air support for your spec op ghosts. (also, a good way to spend minerals)
But it at least gives you:
-vision (that doesn't give away your plans like scans do)
-a way to counter stalkers, siege tanks, battle cruisers, and other floor bound mech stuff thst don't involve irradiation the land for the next 60 generations (even though thsts also hilarious)
Also if you need to troll drop some landed vikings from medevacs
issue with that is it was the challenge just before this one.

@@youtubeforcinghandlessucks after having now binged penguin brothers, I still say its fair to throw some vikings in. Penguin brothers was also all the other stuff that waddles, some marines to start with etc. And it wouldn't be the death sized cloud of vikings ofc (you couldn't afford it with all the ghost costs) but a handful might do good work against the stuff ghost is bad against.... And let's be fair landed vikings are just too much fun to see anyway.

Just found this channel a few days ago, been really enjoying this series.
If you have to add a support unit - another cloaked unit would be fitting with the general idea, so banshees would be ideal. (ps, I used to play 4 s'port banshee and they are hilarious for the salt)
I don't consider them support though, they deal considerable air to ground.
@@IcariumGaming clunky and prone to extreme overkill due to slow projectiles and attack speed. mass banshee is shit. it's just a harassment / support unit.

In the first game he wanted to type "stop" but forgot to switch from Cyrillic to English keyboard
The adaptation is banshee. To complete the cloak combo. The banshees will let you clear tanks and snipe cyclones, also puts a ton of pressure on opponent multitasking if you can hyperflight around the map with like six banshees.
That second game was probably one of the best games of Starcraft ever played. Absolutely marvelous.
Something happened to that gm Terran, he was absolutely shutting the nukes down in the beginning of the game. He must’ve just gotten overwhelmed with the sheer number of them.

Something that I have come across in my games agaist protoss is cannon rush to carriers to mama ship. I got 3 games un a row with this strat. I lost the three of them XD. I believe the matchmaking algorithm takes into account your insane stats. I mean 400 apm, no supply block, extremely low unspend resources.. Great video Marc!
I doubt the matchmaking keeps track of things like that (it would be really bad if it did things like that, the matchmaking shouldn't be taking into account factors other than wins/losses otherwise it can potentially have biases for/against certain playstyles even if those playstyles aren't actually better at winning games), but I think what it *might* do is keep track of when someone is on a big winning streak to match them up with higher rated players than their actual rating to try to get them to a MMR where their win streaks stop faster. I think it's probably more likely to just be a fluke than anything though honestly.
1st game is how we (terrans) feel when they DTs rush us :(

you could keep it sneaky by adding in banshees because your biggest problem is tanks and they can't shoot up. You will still lose lategame but maybe there are some midgame timings that are easier to hold vs 2-3 tanks if you have a banshee and there is maybe no scan/you can avoid the raven
The second game was absolutely amazing. Overall, it even more entertaining than championship final games.

You should add to the challenge that you can build Ravens in TvT so you have counterplay towards mech units so there is some potential to win vs higher mmr terrans.

Probes should be renamed as Lucifer, because when you see one lurking around your base, you know it only have malevolent intentions.
Getting one raven might do it. You can have vision, auto turrets, and more importantly, disable tanks/cyclones
Those nukes are worth rewatching over and over… if only there is a replay lol
He was spotting your ghosts with the sensor tower it seems, more than the nukes themselves.
Cloaked units do not show up on a sensor tower to my knowledge. He rarely nuked without being cloaked, except towards the end when he was dropping 3-4 at a time.

the fight against the grandmaster was next level..... every fight before this you were either totally outclassing the enemy or you just got lucky strikes against someone who actually had a chance to absolutely crush you, but in this one you were basically being toyed with xD i wonder how much you had to deviate from the only ghosts strategy in order to beat people like these... cause this Unix guy definitely didnt get serious, he had enough army to win at least 4 or 5 times during the game but he stayed at home doing nothing with the army and obviously a real pro wouldnt do that if playing seriously.

because what you need is defense against pushes with cyclones and tanks.
vikings might also be interesting, to have air superiority.
That floating factory in the last game for so long...
For balancing vs Terran but keep it challenging you can add ravens or libs.
They are still gas intensive so you won't be able to mass them with ghosts but then you'll have some chances vs tanks and even BCs with int.matrix

The challenge is over by now but I'd have liked to see Ghosts and Banshees. Has the cloak theme, and rain missiles on pesky Stalkers and Tanks

How come that every time before you build a barracks you hold the engi bay "shadow" at the spot before placing the rax?
It’s so he knows where to place it, engi bay is cheaper and will show placement before able to afford rax
