- Why doesn’t it have dually wheels up from? That is the number one question I get about the truck…… well, not anymore! I finally got around to converting the front axle to be able to run the stock gm dually wheels. My truck has a 79 Ford kingpin Dana 60 front axle. It was not a dually axle. So I had to do some custom stuff. Now it looks like a proper dually!
I purchased my adapters from southwest wheel in Dallas Texas. They are part number Aa-4f. They would be a direct bolt on for ford wheels.
Absolute beast!!!!!
One bad square body……
Thank you!
Dude! I just noticed the Decent Garage sticker in your garage! That's awesome!
Haha yeah…..I know a guy. 😉
Much better look too BTW. Nice work.
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with how it tuned out. Looks like a proper dually now.
I bet those old adapters would have worked with a 8 lug dana 44 since the hubs are smaller diameter than the dana 60.
Seth was that something you could have heated with a torch and got it out easier?? I couldn't tell from the video.
The heat would need to be applied to the big cast part of the adapter since the ring was on the inner diameter so heat wouldn’t really help in this case. Quick freezing the inner ring could have helped but since the metal was soft and thin and the fit wasn’t super tight it really wasn’t necessary for this. I have used heat and cold before to help with pressed fit parts. There is definitely a place for it. Thanks for watching!
I don't understand so much about trucks or jeeps or another machines but it's your hobby and i respect that...... congratulations and greetings to wife "baby face" scare and your childrens......by the way what's up with Tess?
Thanks for comment! Tess was probably out taking a nap under a tree somewhere. 😆
Well done hope it works out well.Say does that change the balance of the tires at all with the spacers in there now?
Thanks! The adapter and neutral balanced so it doesn’t effect the balance. The tire is in the same position but since these wheels have so much backspacing the spacers are needed to keep the tires in the right spot.
Hey dad momma and kids love all of you god bless
Amazing man, it looks great! Not gonna lie, I winced when you smacked that brand new adapter with the chisel 😆
Haha me too! I was relieved when it all worked out in the end. Haha!
Looks great. Nice work.
Are you planning on selling the other dually spacers? I'm interested if they fit my application.
Yes they are for sale locally. They are off of a 1994 Chevy 3500 4x4.
@@redeyecafegarage7484 Thanks.
@@Chevota22 sure! Not sure where you are located but they are really heavy. I paid a lot to have them shipped. I’m asking $200 for the pair just to get my money back.
@@redeyecafegarage7484 yeah I'm sure it's expensive to ship. I appreciate you taking the time to answer, but I don't know if it will work for me. I have an 85 C30 dually I'm converting to 4wd. I'm using a Dodge front out of a 98 2500. I wanted to go coil springs and they are kind of set up that way already. Long story short, my truck is a dually, but the axle is for a single. I was going to use those spacers to run all the same rim, like you are doing, but I don't think that part will fit my setup.
How much would you charge to do a duramax swap?
Duramax swaps aren’t something I’ve ever really looked into.
Looks great, to bad they don’t make the correct shim for the conversion.
Thanks! It was actually really easy and cheap to make the spacer rings.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Deez nuts 🤣
😂 I cracked myself up when I said it.
