Thank you Julia! I’m a homeschooling mum from Australia. I really appreciate your efforts in making these videos. The education and your encouraging style is so helpful to me.
You are so welcome! And hello from the United States! I actually did an exchange program with a student from Australia when I was in 8th grade (in Melbourne). What a fun place! I would love to visit again one day and to see more of the country. I hope you are having a wonderful start to your summer there!
Thank you SO much!! This is the best, most helpful video I have found on teaching math the Montessori way! I am a former traditional public school teacher turned stay at home/homeschooling mama determined to provide a richer childhood and better education for my little ones. I am having to re-learn how to educate as Montessori is so different from traditional education and your videos are so helpful! Thank you!!
Just an FYI the number rods were laid out the wrong way. It should be going left to right. So the number one and all the reds should be on the left side, so when you add the numbers, they go from 1-10 from left to right
Before the children start writing numbers and letters on paper, Montessori has them practice tracing shapes on paper with colored pencils. Once they are comfortable with that as well as tracing the numbers and letters with their fingers, they may then write on paper. I personally have my children trace on paper as well, and have found that my children have not been ready to write until they were a bit older (5 or 6).
Hi there! thanks for your video and helpful tips. My daughter is a year and half and she is very interested in numbers...she grabs my finger and places it on any number she finds in books. Therefore, I am thinking of teaching her numbers. What do you think and what would you suggest? Thank you so much :-)
Hi! I am glad it was helpful! I would follow her lead and tell her what numbers are when she asks. You can also count things around the house with her and take more number and counting books from the library if you can! I wouldn't do any formal numbers lessons with her yet, though. She is pretty young (I have a one and a half year old too!) and will pick up a lot just through exploring. If she picks up the symbols for the numbers herself, great! But she has time. 😃
Keep making videos! I’m binge watching in prep to homeschool my toddler soon
I have been taking a break, but will get back to them soon!
Would love to see a video of the golden beads and introduction to decimals, as well as teen/tens board! Thank you!!
Great! Thank you for the feedback! Hopefully, I will be able to get to those with my son over the next few months. ;)

Hi
How does a child will start writing numbers on copy ? Can you show me the idea
