Thank you ,Mother Nature, for this incredible gift. Microdosing psilocybin for the last 9 months has changed me completely for the better. It has helped with my PTSD, depression and suicidal ideations triggered from childhood trauma. It has opened me up to discovering my true self and has taught me the value of caring for my body through eating from the earth and being more connected with nature. It’s a powerful medicine that should be respected. Thank you for making this documentary. I am very excited to see where scientific research will lead us. I am hoping for the legalization of it, and soon. Everyone can benefit.

I don't know why all these drug retreats are so "summer camp" style. If I'm flying to the Netherlands to trip on truffles I want my own room supplied with snacks and drinks with a panic button if I feel a bad trip and someone checking on me every half hour. No, I don't want to trip next to a bunch of strangers. I have such bad social anxiety!

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself
This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

Here's a tip to all of the religious people reading this.
No one can tell you what the truth is. Truth can only be known through direct experience. Anyone who tries to tell you the truth about anything, is either failing you, or lying.
In other words, even if you do hear (or read) the truth, you won't know it is the truth. Unless you already know.

I'm a religious person and what you are saying is a true story. Don't let others inform your truth for you.
In The Quran it says in the first Sarah to "make me of those who walk the straight path, not of those who go astray and not of those who bring about the anger of God."
Most of the religious folk take that to mean we just need to follow religion, but in truth we all have a straight path. We know when we are on that path when we feel right in our hearts. And that anger part is not from some great spying homie in the sky, but just like what it says in the Bible, "The wages of sin are death." When we are living in a way that is against our nature it causes stress and stress and the destructive chemicals our body produces when we're under stress does kill us eventually.
When we are mindful of how we feel we have the truth. Some of the things people are revealed in experiences with these entheagens allow people to see truth as well. It is important to learn some discernment though. For me learning scripture and having regular practices has been a source of strength and has been helpful, but each of us has to live according to our own constitution.
I wish you all the best
      Assalamu'alaykum❤

A group of my friends wanted to try this. As a personal choice I haven't ever tried drugs or cigarettes and don't ever intend to. My apartment was chosen as the safe space so I could keep an eye on everyone. It was a terrifying experience! Every one of them were crying over some trauma at one point or the other. One guy was cursing and criticizing himself in the mirror. Another one was insisting on trying to open the balcony door to fly from the 26th floor. (I had already locked the door and taken the key). One girl was standing on the couch screaming that my carpet was flying. When you are the sober one watching the effects, it is quite eye opening. I must say they were all exorcising some deep buried emotions and confronting things from their past, that I had never heard them speak of before.

    • @skyejacques
      @skyejacques 2 года назад +3

That's probably because they took mega large doses and didn't have someone sitting with them like a therapist talking them through.
I did that a few times when I took a larger dose. It helped but it was also too much as I didn't actually process the traumas, but just rehashed them without any answers or healing.
The last time I had my hypnotherapist with me the entire time, took a lower dose and she helped me heal traumas.
Better way to do it, for me.

@Logan Stroganoff Surrounding yourself with nature is the key ingredient when using a psychedelic. Be sure to include a trusted individual to keep you safe just in case you have the desire to climb to the tops of trees. We had a friend that climbed to the top of a tree. He thought he was at ground level and anything below him (that would include us) was evil and underground. It took us forever to get him to come down and that was only because he was "coming down". Preparation is extremely important and always have a plan in case something goes afoul. Other than that, placing a source of music in some random tree really opens up the nature experience. Watching ants as they scurry across the forest floor while classical music is floating around is just plain awesome! Be safe!

What you called the best thing - altering the delicate chemical balance in the brain - could actually lead to the destruction of said brain and the person living inside it. The 'best thing' is to hang close to reality and not chance losing the one thing that makes you you. I wouldn't say the people who edited this video were being deceptive, or that they are trying to sell something or capture a disingenuous representation of the experience.
I would say that they were trying to edit the video in a way that gives you a better example of the experience.
They could have included only the footage of the people walking off to use the bathroom, or maybe people complaining about stepping on a pinecone or something.
But that's not a real example of the experience, even though it probably happened.
So of course they are creating a artistic representation of the experience, but I think they created a true example.
I like the footage they used of the people before the experience, and after the experience, because it told a story about the types of changes that you can see in yourself and others after taking magic mushrooms.
It should be obvious that those people still had the same characteristics about themselves afterwards, but they didn't show that part of the footage, and instead showed them smiling and laughing, and seeming to be more open and easy going.
That is an artistic representation that is being created by editing. They are cutting out footage, and only including the shots that represent the story that they are trying to create.
They could have just as easily edited it to look like magic mushrooms are the worst thing in the world, and that everyone in the video had a really bad experience with them.
So, my point is that videos are not real life, and they can tell a different story depending on what the artist is wanting people to believe.
I think this video gave a pretty realistic and truthful expression of the actual experience of the people in it, but it can never give a true example of what really happened or what the people felt and experienced, neither in their lives before, during the experience with magic mushrooms, or their lives after the experience.
But I think they captured the expression of the reality of it very well.

Its nothing that's concerning you just feel a little sick throw up and its all done with ! its more an inconvenience than anything that it takes you away from what you were thinking about even if ever so briefly ! I hope society picks up these long lost herbal treatments from now on and into the future ! I believe everyone should at sometime have a trip getting to know your innerspace so to speak .

In psychiatry, the general consensus (with lots of room for debate still) is that there is some risk that psychedelics can incite a first episode of psychosis in people who have a family history of it - or a new psychotic episode in people who have a history of psychotic illnesses. More research, however, needs to be done.

I'm less interested in the people who do psychedelics without any real history of mental illness or trauma. Their experiences don't really tell us anything much about the healing potential of psychedelics - and they don't really tell us much about any risks to mental health (which some doctors continue to insist are possible in certain instances, if you have certain vulnerabilities like a family history of psychosis.)
I'm also not very keen on the new agey "extras" they seem to do at this retreat. When I see any white person banging a native American flat drum with a suede mallet, my mind goes to a very different place than theirs.

    • @jag0wnsu
      @jag0wnsu 3 года назад

I can understand where you're coming from. My dad used to abuse alcohol when I was growing up, and around the age of 18 (and onward), I started abusing alcohol myself. But honestly, psychedelics is something different entirely, you cannot put them in the same category. I've used alcohol/sugar/caffeine/nicotine etc. plenty of times to deal with tough emotions/situations or to just 'relieve stress' in general. Truffels on the other hand - I have done twice. First time all by myself (even though this is not recommended) and 2nd time (about a year later) in Amsterdam with some friends. Truffles are completely different in how they work and make you feel compared to actual addictive substances. One cannot become addicted to truffles, even if you tried (because your body builds up a tolerance right away). Another difference is that, you need to carefully prepare when planning to use truffles. You can't just say "oh, I'll have some while I'm going to visit some friends at the bar" or something like that. You need to have a safe environment, trusted people (or you can also do it alone), be somewhat relaxed ... Truffles are often used to reveal things about oneself, dig deeper, or to just have a spiritual experience. It's not just about 'getting high'. In any case, again, I really do understand where you're coming from and if you aren't open to these things, that's absolutely fine. Take care!

The soul is separate from the effects of drugs. While the body may trick a person into thinking that the drugs have a influence on the spirit, they really don’t. Drugs are a mask. A physical mask. It can hide the persons soul beneath. But I’ve seen many people that once they stop the drugs, their soul shows more and more over time. Some die with the mask still on. But it doesn’t matter, because the soul isn’t subject to the mask anymore.

Did none of them get to understand and realize that all matter is fluid despite its appearance in the ''real'' world EVERYTHING moves through , in , out, around , back & forth, in on its self so-on and so-on ( including flesh & bone! ) but without rhyme reason cause or effect hence therefore all human strife and whimsy is pointless to the extreme even ''letting go'' doesn't work, we are all slammed back to the waking constant nightmare of this reality that is machine in nature and devoid also of purpose , yes i've done LSD & shrooms , not tryin' to be 'downer' it's just that the truth of our existence is sadder than sad, tell me i'm wrong but i've seen it and so have several of my friends.
