    You did a great job explaining the differences. Although I’m a John Deere guy myself, I enjoy content from any brand. I have a 2038R with a 4 in 1 bucket, grapple, and (unrelated to this subject) a set of forks. I thought I would add some information about why I went with a 4 in 1 bucket in case someone finds it useful. We own two properties that we maintain here in Oklahoma, a 5 acre place near town where we live and a 40 acre inherited farmhouse about an hour away. Due to the amount of dirt work I do, I wanted a heavy duty bucket instead of the standard bucket so that it would hold up better over time. A 4 in 1 bucket is typically built stronger than a standard bucket so I looked into one as well. My primary decision to get a 4 in 1 over a heavy duty was due to owning two properties. The 4 in 1 allows me to transport fewer attachments back and forth and still get work done. I will admit that a dedicated implement will outperform a 4 in 1 every time, but it does offer options that are great when you’re deciding what to take with you when you’re towing to a different location. I can get away with the 4 in 1, the mid mount mower, and a brush hog and get a lot of work done.

    New operator here.
    In the market for something to pick up all sizes of driftwood at our river camp with my new L3302. Was not even aware of the combo bucket. Thanks for the demo!

    I'm about to pick up a Kubota L3301 and have been looking at adding a grapple. This video helped me understand more about them and choose one for my needs!

    Some of the heavier built claw (also called root rake grapples) allow for back dragging with the lid to rake material. I think a grapple is the single best loader attachment you can get.

    Claw grapple keeps the load closer to pivot pin of bucket too resulting in greater lifting of heavy pieces.

    Thanks for the explanation. I am looking to buy one for the farm in 2024, so I make up my mind closer to purchase, but this helped.

    I have a W E Long root grapple and it's a beast. There are times when I wished I had a clam grapple b/c it's smaller and easier to grapple smaller trees and brush and not drop a lot of pieces of debris. I don't think I'd want the 4-in-1 bucket. I have a BXpanded piranha toothbar on my existing bucket that makes quick work in digging into rock piles and packed dirt piles. Thanks for the video. 👍🏽🤠 9/23/23

    I have the Land Pride 60 inch grapple on my little B2601. It's kind of a dinky little tractor for pulling a box blade or bushhog. But surprisingly capable with the grapple and bucket. I'm thinking about trading up to a 4701 or MX5400.

      my nephew did this upgrade. He is keeping his L3700. But his new MX5400 Cab has spoiled him. I will be installing his 3rd function soon and a grapple. The MX5400 is an inpressive machine.

      If it is Hydrostatic transmission they sure do! It will be less noticeable in the Low or Medium range, but all HST transmissions make that whining noise.

    What about “add a grapple” systems ?

    I didn't catch you mentioning the brand/model of that particular root grapple - please post what brand/model it is.

      That specific one is from CID or IronCraft (same company, they just operate under multiple names). That model is the ERG66 - Economy Root Grapple 66”.

    How much more is the 4n1 bucket over a standard bucket. Plus can you curl and close the bucket at the same time?

    • @kubotaoflynchburg
      @kubotaoflynchburg  7 месяцев назад

      It depends on the size/brand of the combo bucket but you are roughly $2,000 more for the combo bucket option. As long as you get a good 3rd function valve you should be able to use the functions simultaneously.

    Im going the Grapple route I have 2024 B2601 LA 435. Doing it 100% correct can I get a guess on what the price could be?
    Thanks!

      @kubotaoflynchburg  Месяц назад

      It will depend on the brand and quality, but expect to spend between $1,400 - $2,200. Also if you don't have the 3rd function valve, keep that cost in mind as well.
