Very sorry Doctor, but it was expected, my advice is to agree with your dad to refund you the cost of the structure and go and concentrate on the main big farm don't overstretch yourself, remember our road's in Uganda are death trap, commuting now and again you will loose focus a distance of 350-400Km is not a joke,in the first place you had made a right decision to quit your medical profession and concentrate on your small farm, luckily you got involved in a bigger farming project now the challenge is distance, focus on one location to maximise output
I understand what you went through. I am constantly loosing birds every day. This made me to almost loose hope but I am grateful for my family's support.
Indeed when we fall down we rise again!!!! As you rise up Dr. Daniel you will be wiser and you will enjoy the fruits!!!! Keep on keeping on. We are learning a lot from you.
Never give up, in farming we always learn through mistakes but it's always those who persist succeed, otherwise thanks for letting others not to fall in the same trap you are doing a very wonderful job my brother
Very very sorry Daniel. I know how you must have felt. It's like when my late husband passed away. I hugged him all night. Managed to sleep a little. The moment I. Opened my eyes 5.30 am he gave out a very long breath. Man it was a painful experience.
I am so so much sorry for your lose. I can understand what you have gone through and cash lost, but just take care and do not play with the bio-security anymore. You have been an inspiration for me starting up mixed poultry here in Nigeria.
Sorry for your loss Dr. /Agripreneur. I started poultry too and I am passionate about it so I really share in your pain but more in your positive attitude to break through when we’re pushed against the wall. You’ll bounce back believe that💪🏾
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have a very small backyard flock. If I had to cull and restart my flick it would devastate me. I can’t imagine you’re pain. I will continue to watch you rebuild and I wish you every luck.

Dr DANIEL good morning sorry for your loss of those fouls. My mum who is 93 going on 94 said years ago her mother experienced the same sought of thing when they were small with some yard flows. What she did was use lemon juice or pieces of ALOES in each of the water pots for the sick ones to drink. Since you are not keeping them you can pass on the information to the other person or persons who will be taking them.
you are my fav mentor when it comes to this business ...n I had this experience too but I didn’t sell the birds I just gave them a medication ...and now they are goin back to their performance ... the vitamins support them a lot ...and they say replacing the litter wouldn’t hurt but it actually affect their performance..
From all your loses we learn such valuable lessons, and what's great is you share all the info about your losses. Please keep continuing make more losses for yourself so that we learn how to avoid our losses😂.
You said it perfectly Dr -- every disaster is an opportunity to learn -- props to you to making the hard decision to cull. If you had to build again, would you build a second story again? Do you think that contributes to the circulation of airborne diseases?
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I have mentioned before that I would love to move from America to Uganda to work for you on your farm. The offer still exist. Thank you.
So sorry to hear about this sad news but ups and downs do take place in business.take heart and expect better days ahead...we usually cut onions and garlic with turmeric powder and give the chickens whenever they fall sick and very often they recover.I too lost 3 chicks but I had one chick who was extremely unwell and couldn't stand for almost a month so I put her under the light in a box and kept feeding water and onions. She did recover and is now a year old.We do feed our birds with onions and garlic from time to time and fingers crossed they have been healthy so far.
Sentiments KILLS in BUSINESS; I understand your kindness towards your Biological Dad & Using his land also..... Its time to grow up, Get a Land of your own and PROCEED TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Sad news brother, I hate putting down young poultry. You have the right attitude to learn a lot from this and learning always has a price tag. Thanks for sharing your journey.
It’s your soil bro. Your soil is the key to everything. You need to add a heavy IMO to the soil. This will balance out the bad microbes. Next, add you need to move them to a new area while there current area is healing itself. Ferment there food. This helps. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Doc, thanks for sharing this, it's not about your dad asking, and to your point it's about a bigger issue which is the elephant in the room; thus is it the deep litter poultry or cage poultry safe and necessary? I for one have been considering free range poultry, may be - just may be, could be the solution 🤗
so sorry, i dunno if Uganda has the same cold season as Kenya, but my chicks too were affected by CRD but they recovered fast, im surprised yours took so long
Dr. Daniel. I'm sorry for your loss. I once advised that you should try to use SUPERGROW for the birds. You can try the liquid for a few of the birds and see how it works for you.
I am really learning a lot from you. I am keeping Kenbro from KenChic and I had a lot of issues with Biosecurity with my second batch but I am also learning and I won't give up. Thanks, Doc for the encouragement. For my third batch of chicken, I will be extra careful and very strict.
The blessing of God maketh a man rich and addeth no Sorrow . May the Good Lord that has constantly blessed you give you counsel and also give you wisdom on how to go about that particular farm
Heart breaking, My parents had brooders and I worked on a free range egg operation for 15 years so I know how much energy is sapped out of you when something like this happens. It's so hard to get birds back to exeptable laying figures after something like this goes through a flock. I'm Sure your doing the right thing cutting your loses and starting over. You've obviously got the right attitude and that's worth everything. Enjoying you videos very much thankyou.
My problem is poultry theft. I have never come across any good work er. Either they sell my eggs or the laying birds. No matter what i do for them. They prefer stealing. twice a month, I make sure buy some food stuff to assist their salary. e.g rice, beans, garri and other ingredients , they will thank me, the day they will steall. Have changed alot of workers, both male and female, they are all the same. I pay them well. Please advise me.
Thank you for the lessons you give us,now there is this type of disease I went to visit My mother at home and i found her chickens dying mostly the chicks they had wounds on the bicks, nose and eyes what could be the course and may I know the remedy?🙏

Try giving them tetracycline capsules.(The red and yellow)
Dosage like how many capsules per litre
We use colloidal silver in the water a teaspoon per gallon kills pathogens
