Give the girl a freakin' break. She is an amazing dancer! She might not be a classically trained ballerina, but she did a pretty damn good job. So stop criticizing her.
i saw this movie for the first time with my mum years ago, I've been trying to find it again as i couldn't remember what it was called and then today it pops up on my recommended page :D
I love the movie, i love the song, and i love the two dancers. They make an amazing pair. And i find Rachele brooke Smith is a very beautiful woman and a very good dancer who dances with her heart. I admire that. For people who like critize, i would like to say: if you consider yourself as better, please do it and post the video on youtube and we'll see what kind of dancer you are.
for the ones saying its modern, Yes it is BUT although this is modern, it stems from ballet. When I was going to my dance school, they never introduced us to anything like contemporary or modern until we understood the basics. And as much as I love seeing contemporary pieces or modern pieces en pointe, they should have never put her in those shoes. Her knees were completely bent and she had no proper turn out as well as she could barely keep herself up. Not only did she make it noticeable to the public's eye that she's had no experience, she could have also seriously injured herself due to improper techique.

Yeah this sucked. Why couldn't they choose someone that could actually do ballet? 80% of this dance consists of them running around. Or cater it more to her style of dance, but this is ridiculous.
