The Old Crow distillery next door kept going after 1972, until 1985. Now owned by Glenn's Creek. I prefer the longer aged Glenn's Creek bourbons, but a store in Frankfort was recently sold out for the younger and cheaper Castle and Key bourbon. At the distillery gift shop you can get the Castle and Key bourbon, gin and rye as a three bottles set for $120. I prefer the cheaper 100 proof Old Grand-Dad, the 100 proof Early Times, and the 90 proof Bernheim Original, but the newer distilleries have more recent construction to pay for, if you want something different.
Awesome. Glad to hear that old building is going to be up and running again. And in such good hands.
