The average citizen of 40K doesn't wonder if they should go to Starbuck this afternoon or not (beside the fact that it doesn't exist), instead they are wondering what they should do this afternoon to *not die.*
@@nenadmilovanovic5271 As i said, average. And the people living in shitholes are the majority if you count the untold number of people living in the bottom hives. I doubt the Imperium bothered to count them or that they even have registration. Hell, the way they cull bottom hive overpopulations is literally sending armed and armored Arbites to do a "sweep" of the area. So i think it is safe to assume when you average out the total population, the majority are the ones having a bad time.
The imperium is a more than horrible dictature, we all agree. but what is chocking if you think of it, is that it's not necessarily bad. I mean in our world dictatures are bad because the treat they are suppposed to be fighting against are completly over exagerate or just don't exists. So they are just despotics imposters. Not exactly a spoiler anymore, but the "long lost legend" it referred to was Big Bobby G, the Primarch of the Ultramarines. First thing he did after being revived was punching another superhuman clad in a ton of chaos terminator armor through a solid metal column which was pretty badass and then as 1d4chan put it "used his tactical genius to inspire the combined forces of Chaos to simultaneously shit themselves."

You guys got my name right the first time thank you you guys should watch Astra militarum by templin institute sometime in the future thanks again it was a real nice surprise to hear my name.
The thing to understand about the 40K universe is that the stories we see are those darkest moments, the besieged world on the brink of destruction, the last stand of a regiment, the personal moral descent of a character to the thrall of the dark gods, the annihilation of a people. What we don't see are the peaceful times prior to apocalypse, or the pleasure worlds untouched by war and plague. The majority of the time, people live normal, albeit very regimented and oppressive, boring lives.
Problem with a lot of hive worlds like Terra (Earth) is they are pretty polluted so you can't grow crops when you have no fertile soil or it rains acid rain bad enough to burn your skin. So a lot of planets are dependent on imports. The other solution, like on planets like Necromunda is to break down human corpses into proteins and use that to feed people. I guess it's technically not cannibalism if you process it enough.
nutrient paste and corpse-starch.... breakfast of champions. PS- visit the planet Catachan, it will be fun. lots of pretty flowers and friendly critters.
The draw of 40k books at least is that even though it's hopeless of a grand scale you still have humans fighting to stay alive, even if it's just for a little bit longer.
Warhammer 40k is basically the polar opposite of Star Trek. Star Trek is an optimistic future of where technology can lead us, namely to peace and discovery. Warhammer is a fundamentally pessimistic future where technology has lead us into tyranny, endless wars, and ignorance. In a way, both futures are possible, which is why we should always act with caution.
Can you guys react to SCP: OVERLORD. I don’t know if you guys know what scp is but it’s lore is as vast and maybe even more than 40k is and extremely interesting and to mix the channel up. Again love the content though.
In the lore the Emperors only competent and nonracist son is back, actively working with Tau and Eldar on joint operations in secret. Kinda weird Templin Institute didnt bring that up, seeing as how its the only little bit of hope in the setting.
@@TheKnizzine Yeah it means him being alive means more Eldar will survive some future calamity. If the farseers saw a future where him dying would save even one Eldar more, they wouldn't hesitate to blow him up
Non-Racist. No, Guillman is as humo-centric as the rest of his brothers. He is human centric as his father made him to be, he is simply pragmatic. If a Xeno has that which he needs, then he will deal with them. If there is a greater threat to humanity, he will fight against the greater threat with that xeno breed. But he has no qualms with purging xeno’s without a second thought. Trying to boil down 40k into modern political theory belittles it. Every species hates ever other species (except for Tau...but that’s changing). Don’t confuse Guillmans pragmatism for more than it actually is. Remember, Ultramarines have always been the greatest pragmatists.
