- In this vlog, I return to Derwent Water and continue my journey around the lake. I'm concentrating on the southern end this time, seeking lakeside as well as high viewpoints, but one morning shoot doesn't quite go to plan.

Well Craig they were nice shots spot on 😊
All the photos are fantastic but I can't stop staring at the last one. Great work!!
Cracking video as always, your humour and irreverent approach makes your stuff far better than most photographer vlogists.
Heading there in the morning. Never been there before so these videos will be a big help to me.
Very good, as usual.
Great Craig!
Thank you for showing your photos - it is pure art. I love your pictures.
Loved that shot with the water snaking through the reeds with the gorgeous pink dawn colour. The river at the 12:35 point looked really interesting. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey mate, it's great to see more of the Lake District. I'm wondering if I can fit it into my trip to the UK next year, looks like there's plenty of landscape photo opportunities there.
Craig, It is always a big pleasure to watch your videos. You make very nice pictures and you are also pretty funny, greetings from Holland.
Craig, I love your honesty. We've all had days like that.
I thought I had watched all of your videos, then found this one today back from a year ago ! 12:45 made me chuckle ! Always looking forward to your next one ! Great work as always !
looking forward to them now, always good when a new e6 vlogs video is up
Great video as usual. Dawn and myself are in our first year of landscape photography and are learning a lot from you. We really like the way that you go through the actual thought process of your compositions. We are trying to replicate some of your images around the Derbyshire/Staffordshire peaks. This is going a long way to training our eyes. Many thanks.
always like you vids Craig keep them coming very relaxing to watch
Craig, Chris here from Phoenix. Actually a Derbyshire fella before emigrating some 40 years ago. So Derwent water and locales are dear to my heart. As many of us do, I enjoy your low key, T.I.C. approach to YouTubing, while at the same time, producing an en-lighting (sorry) story. I do look forward always to each installment. I'm not a video maker, or really intend to be, but I'd find it fascinating if you'd shoot the shooter whilst making the vid. See how/where you setup you camera(s) and in general produce these vids. Video is such a ubiquitous element of our lives now , that a background story, nah, YOUR background story would be both entertaining and informative. Edu-tainment at its best .. TTFN
The shot you did get was awesome.
I'm staying in Keswick myself in a few weeks so this will definitely come in handy, cheers for the upload..!
Love the way you edit your work. Any chance of seeing more of your processing technique please.
I'm in the Lake District doing some photography over weekend 21 October. Never know I might bump into you. I'm hoping the trees will have their autumn coats on.
Excellent as always! Thx
pro tip : watch series on InstaFlixxer. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Adriel Ismael definitely, been using instaflixxer for since november myself :D
Very good video as always! Thanks.

Great video Craig. Always enjoyable to watch. But, 3 dead batteries, that's a tad embarrassing!
Yes, I know, very embarassing. Imagine if I filmed that, rather than keeping quiet about it!
I keep finding shots such as 13:10 in your incidental clips, but I'm guessing you tried those as well.
I'm hoping to head back to the lakes in 2017 as I haven't been there since 2009 when I was still very new to photography.
Keep up the great videos!
Will
It's great that you are seeing views of your own, even within this
video. Everyone sees the view differently and so I hope you get some
good shots on your return visit. Always nice to see revisit a location,
to see how your vision has changed.
What a Fabby - Location. Love this place. So.. funny listening to your ' Comedy of Errors ' but no doubt that would be frustrating for you ...
Brilliant, shows we all make errors, great selection of shots, only one point, could we have a few more seconds to loom at them?
Just hit pause :)
Hi Craig,
Another enjoyable video of your toils and tribulations around the stunning Lake District, shame the weather didn't play ball, but you still got some lovely shots .. I have a question if I may .. I have just ventured in to the world of micro four thirds with the purchase of the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark 1 with 12-42mm kit lens. I already have the Cokin Z Pro filter system which I use with my Canon 5D Mark 2, my question is this, would I be able to use the Z Pro filter system on the micro four thirds lens as long as I buy the correct filter ring or would I need to buy a new filter system ? .. I hope that makes sense, many thanks in advance. Ian
Great video Craig as are all of yours but as a Cumbrian the ones that feature the lake district are my favourites if you don't mind me asking where you at Brothers Water on Sunday and if so are you doing another video?
I was...and I was..an e6 one though, not for this channel.
I have been using ultra wide angle lens ONLY (big DSLR) for landscape photography
Thanks million for helping me see the nature with totally different perspectives.
I am going to try 24-60mm range. Do you use Olympus pen ?
Yes, use a couple of OMD cameras and rarely go wider that 24mm for my landscapes.
as always, a lovely video. thank you for sharing :) looking forward to see more. Did the batteries drain because of weather or your forgot to charge them?
The battery issue definitely puts me off mirrorless. I can go all week on one battery in my DSLR. Other than that I'd be very tempted if I wasn't already invested in the Nikon system.
Great video Craig. Thanks!
Which tripod head are you using?
Michael Michel Arca Swiss Z1
Could you poss give me a location to the car park there .went th thirlmere today and saw where you were but wanted next time to go here. My wife can't walk up steep hills for too long so this seems ideal for us.
OK, so I mixed up Derwent Water and Derwent Reservoir .. lol
LOL at 12.48
...dead batteries, rain, missed chance, you really show how you capture your fine and wonderful pictures. If your vlogs would not be so exzellent it would be much easier to turn away from RUclips, get the Camera and go out there regardless which weather there is......
Thank you from Germany, Hans
hmmmmmm dead batteries mirrorless cameras by chance !!!!!!!!
dead batteries wecome to mirrorless cameras!!
