first saw you with Nervosa, and was floored!!! I am a drummer of 47 years. Grew up in the 80's punk and thrash scenes, and you have defiitely done your studying!!! Man, I've been trying to figure out who she reminds me of for months and it just hit me. That energy, the fierceness, and the physical power she hits with reminds me a ton of Jukka Nevalainen, the original drummer from Nightwish. They have that same primal energy to their drumming.
OH MY GOD I SEE IT. Jukka was my idol for ages when I was drumming, mostly because you could just sense the joy and energy he got from playing. I get the same vibes from Eleni.
Eleni the Destroyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have said it before and I will say it again for such a small woman she plays as powerful as John Bonham. Her power exceeds most in my opinion then there is the precision and insane tempo switches that she pulls off flawlessly. Eleni, as a old man I am so proud to see this from a young woman such as you! You are arguably one of the top 10 drummers in the world right now if not the best and I would put you in the top 50 of all time. For power I will have to say top 5 if not 1rst and trust me you are in great company. You are along with everyone in ANKOR what makes this band in my opinion one of the most talented in the world today. -vr- John
Comparing her power to Bonham? Are you 75 years old? There has been far more powerful drummers with a small frame, like Joey Jordison, and I bet she loves Joey's style.
No I am 58 years old and while I agree with you on Joey J was one of the best also and I could say that he also ranks up there in the drumming world. And like with any of the thousands of artist in the world when I say one of if not. I mean just that in other words I can name about 200 guitarist that in some way or form could all be rank number one it is splitting such hairs and always comes to opinions. I saw Led Zeppelin at the age of 11 in Houston Tx. I did not get to see them again. I also started listening to them at the age of 6-Alice Cooper at the age of 5. I stand by my opinion and while JJ is also a master I feel Eleni is much more powerful than he was. I am not taking away from his style or other wise however because splitting hairs. I mean there or drummers like Glen Sobel out there (yes still Alice Cooper fan) or Josh Vilata who both are insane drummers. Pound for pound I give power to Eleni my number one spot. Talent she is in good company but still could be number one also on any given day. In short she is a very accomplished drummer and worthy of being High in any list. I do miss Slipknots drummer and I wish he was still with us. He also is pretty damnn high on my list no doubt.

I am loving this move in music. This type of drumming ten+ years ago would just be considered indulgent. But with song composition and processing, you can have very busy drumming in songs, not seem like it is just getting in front of everything else. Thinking Northlane/Jinjer/Ankor etc.
