Reading "The Presidents Keepers" was a hard read. But it gave a clear perspective of just how gangsterism has reached the highest offices of the land. To weed out corruption and to track these networks is a HUGE task. Knowing that in every office is someone - unknown - who is diverting, destroying and burying evidence is terrifying. South Africa has been undermined by some of those who present themselves as liberators - and sadly their muscles are lifting and shuffling at every level. Thank you for your determination to reveal the truth and to solve these complex matters.
The local movie “Dollars and white pipes” paints a grim/accurate picture of the organised crime problems in the Western Cape. It’s mind boggling that this is still such a prevalent issue after so many years.
Finally there's a news paper service that discusses in digital format and easy to understand the goings on in the country. Also do some Vox style work Short doccies.
It is the mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters of these gangsters who don't report them, who are just as much to blame. When the gangster gets shot or killed then those same family members play the victim card!
Narcissists are generally scary people to deal with. You can't just blame family because even if they benefit financially from it they are still victims.
@JOATMOFA you clearly haven't been a victim of a narcissist or psychopath in the family. They control and hurt those they have absolute power over the most. All I am saying
@@liezelkarsten173 What prevents the supposed "victim" from contacting the police or getting out of this narcissist'/psychopath's control ? Especially if the "victim's" silence exacerbates the situation (more pain and grief)? A lot of women/men (not all) are *born* to rather play the victim rather than end such a relationship! - *AND* you are wrong in your assumption about me.
South Africa could have 20 milions of tourist each year if there is safety. All this crime and violence scares people away from coming and leaving money for the economy.
The most insecure people I ever came across were criminals they're Like children who think being a grown up means drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. They are so desperate to be seen as adults they are willin to dominate other people to feel good about themselves. Breaking the rules makes them feel like they play by their own rules in other words they feel independent but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Absolutely. And the scariest thing of all is they project this complex onto the world around them. It informs their entire outlook on life - they believe that deep down, everyone else is just as selfish and depraved as they are. There is no good to be found in people and the only difference is the power and influence that they command. In their world, the strong overpowers and exploits the weak, and nothing else matters. It's pure evil, plain and simple.
Well said. This has been going on for decades though since the 90’s which I witnessed in Johannesburg and surrounding areas. It’s always just been looked over… 😢
Wow - we need a lot more brave citizens like you. But what can we ordinary urban residents actually do about it...without putting ourselves or loved-ones in mortal danger ? Take a lot more care as you emphasize and be extra selective of what we go into, and when. However we all love a good-time...especially our teenage student overgrown kids. But do we fight fire with fire, or with a wet blanket like tax-evasion ? Any way, keep going, and how do we get a lot more "goodies" into our utterly broken Police Force ? Thank you again

The SA organized crime is the module of SA. My own personal findings, and I did do a LOT of personal groundwork, with my own personal investigation. It started when we moved to Jhb December 1998 - and came to realize 'the marketing ploy' of security companies is involved in organized crime. It's almost as though they initiate you into the area, so you sign up with a security company - your house gets broken into. YES, there is crime/ home invasions in SA, a violent encounter, forcing you to drain your accounts by holding your family hostage, rape, shooting, murder etc. THAT being said, I strongly believe the security companies have 'their' organized crime 'home invasions', letting you know 'no one' has the freedom to live a life in SA without a security company. After your home is broken into you left with ugly emotions of vulnerability, fear and other emotions, some have the luxuarty to move, some can't afford the move and sign up with a security company, and then you live a relatively normal 'vigilant' life in SA. There is organized crime throught SA. A sad awakening - just as America was 'home of the free' SA is 'organized crime' pro crime ; JUNE 2024 vote is a loud "so say all of us" keep anc in power. Sadly people still refuse to believe that it is because of the ANC out country is what it is. The previous police ministers and presidents have been more intereated in their own agenda instead of running this country. Hopefully our latest election is the start of things getting better in this country even though it may take some time.
We'll have to get to the roots of this. Could you do an investigative piece to prove that this all came from the apartheid era, please. Names of cops & gangsters involved, events, witnesses, testimonies, post-apartheid investigation (would certainly have come out in the Truth Commission), specific types of gang operations, gang names, numbers of people killed in gang shootouts during those years, specifically how the old police force was entrenched in it, etc. Would be much more enlightening & valuable than a throw away line that it went on during that era. One thing I do know about those years is the obsessive record keeping about everything, shouldn't be impossible to research. And will be a great book.
