  • For years actor Robert Wagner has fought rumors that he had something to do with the 1981 death of his wife, Hollywood legend Natalie Wood. Now he's opening up in an interview with his own stepdaughter, Natalie’s daughter Natasha Gregson Wagner, for the HBO Documentary "Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind." She questions Wagner for details about that terrible night. The HBO Documentary Film "Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind" debuted May 5 on HBO. #InsideEdition

    Daddy did it darling.
It was a well-known fact she hated the water and she would’ve never have just gone overboard herself.
Oddly they had problems in the relationship before that’s why they were divorced, he is extremely jealous of her. He had too much to drink that night and sent her overboard!!

Watching the documentary sometimes it feels like Natasha was dismissive of her own mother's struggles like her suicide attempt, her complicated relationship with RJ, her waning movie career after a series of flops, etc. It's sad because Natalie died when her girls was so young, perhaps they don't really know how their mother really was like.

One man I counseled was crying his eyes out because he lost his wife, but insisted he was going to find another partner in life as he was crying. Men externalize their mourning. Women internalize it.

Natalie didn't pick up the dingy and launch herself into the ocean. Wagner refused to even try and find her, according to the captain of the boat. From what the captain said he heard a loud argument between Natalie and Wagner, then suddenly it was silent. He probably punched, knocked her out, put her into the dingy ad set it adrift. It then could have been some big waves that knocked her out of the dingy

Originally Walken and Davern's statements matched Wagner's, said to be devised by Wagner and very fishy. However, Davern admitted to falsehoods in his original story and has passed two lie detector tests since changing his account of that night. I know police have interviewed Walken again since the case was reopened, but police have not divulged what Walken said, at least not to the general public. I'm referencing the 48hrs investigation that was televised. I guess they did this out of fear of jeopardizing the investigation? If Walken's account is as you say, Robert Wagner should be charged with murder, the only charge that is not affected by a statute of limitations.

They were married two times, first, December 28, 1957, in Arizona. In less than three years, autumn of 1961, Natalie awoke in the middle of the night and wagner wasn’t in their bed. She got up to look for him and saw him having sex with David Cavendish, his British gay butler, who was wagner’s butler before Natalie married him. Their divorce was final in 1962.
I cant imagine the reason she remarried him in 1972. When asked how she could remarry him, her reply was, “Sometimes it’s better to be with the devil you know than be with others you don’t.” wagner has always liked the boys, first, living with gay actor, Clifton Webb and his mother, which everyone in films knew.
Of course, he murdered Natalie about 11:15 pm on November 28, 1981, after beating her until she was unconscious, dragged her by her bruised ankles to the swim step and pushed her into the ocean. I’m thrilled that the new Los Angeles County District Attorney, George Cascon, pledged to form a grand jury in 2021, to examine the many holes in wagner’s story and put him on trial for the murder of Natalie.

I rolled my eyes when she said that he would have given his life for her Mom. Their love couldn't have been that powerful considering that he moved on with his now wife, three months after her death. The dismissive attitude over being a person of interest and his cold emotionless expression as his daughter is getting upset over him being suspected in her death and tells him that she knows he would die for her mother also doesn't give the impression that his love for Natalie was that strong and deep. I really hope for his daughters sake that he is innocent.

    • @musicfan2511

The way he was dismissive and went from “yes I would of” to “we all would have” quickly undermines the power of his love and emotion for Natalie as he is generalising his feelings to that of everyone else, even though he was her husband- supposedly the closest person to her. The way he shifts the focus from himself to other people, shows that he is not comfortable with this being discussed. Any innocent man would take an opportunity such as this to make it perfectly clear how innocent he was and just how much he loved his wife ( as RJ supposedly did). He looks shifty and uncomfortable and is extremely vague. IMO he is guilty as sin.

He has Natasha so brainwashed and at 92yrs old, his time is coming when he'll be judged. She was only 11 and wasn't even on the boat. Wagner is the last one to see her alive and is known for a volatile temper and became enraged after he saw her flirt with Walken. Just wait. Walken will talk after Wagner's passing.

Walken pretty much did in a 1983 interview done by Entertainment Tonight. He didn't say anything obvious of course but his facial expressions, tone of voice, hesitation while talking and Word Choice - he used the word "confrontation" in an Extremely Strange Way - all scream he knows more than what he's told the public, regardless that he was "sleeping" probably from drinking and/or getting high... His old interview says it all EDIT: I needed to add that this interview Walken did is one that asks questions that involve Natalie's death in a way.

Just in case, for their safety, Natasha should have lived w/ her birth father, especially w/ RJ’s violent history of smashing things. For that alone, I’d get my birth child out of there. The guy's had 40 years to cement his story with her and what girl doesn't want to trust and believe her dad especially when she's already lost her mother?
My guess is that there was a drunken row with no shortage of righteous indignation between all parties and Natalie somehow entered the water with no-one's help i.e. slipping or falling.
When this was noticed by other's, no-one helped her to get out of the water for whatever reason. That is a stain on their memory which will never be erased.
Maybe they were too drunk and felt they'd drown too, maybe not helping would teach her a lesson, I don't know.
It's impossible to "justify" drunken logic when you're sober so I'm just throwing things out there but I always take comfort in knowing that the truth remains forever regardless of what anyone thinks, says or does and if anyone has left another human to drown, that person will carry that with them always.

Does anyone know where I can find the entire interview Natasha did with Wagner? The one I found here is only a little over 2 minutes long. She must have done at least an hour with him at least.

IT'S REALLY A VERY NICE DOCUMENTARY. IT'S GREAT TO SEE THE DAUGHTERS GROWN UP. THEIR MOM WAS ONE OF MY EARLIEST CRUSHES IN THE LATE 50'S. AT LEAST IT GIVES ROBERT WAGNER A CHANCE TO GIVE HIS SAY WHICH IS NOTHING NEW. NATALIE WAS ONE OF A KIND. THAT ERA IS GONE FOREVER.

The first time I finally got to delve into this story I felt he did it my spirit is never wrong I believe he was intoxicated got upset of Natalie's flirting. Not only that they had a past where they divorced and she was with Warren and a string of other relationships it took him a while to move on with another woman her career was booming his was flop at the moment he had built up anger from then which made it easy to kill her I don't feel his intentions was to kill her it was an accident and he covered it up....simple people think 🧐

You do know that the first divorce was because she caught him with the butler and couldn't handle it. She thought it was a one time thing but catching him once again was too much. She probably got so mad that she made a fatal mistake and said she was going to tell. Maybe that's why she was trying to get in the dingy ? Either way she had had enough and wanted out and Robert couldn't take the chance that people would understand. It was the early 80s. Plus he adored Stefanie and Bill had just died two weeks previous. It probably made sense in his drunken mind that Natalie had to go. He is a typical Narcissist. The whole thing is very sad for Lana and the Girls and the Captain as well.

he was caught with the buttler a decade previous.. it is feasible that she liked the idea of wagner being jealous of walken and then BIZZARELY she finds the two of them together.. the poor woman's universe would have emploded there and then.numerous scenarios could have played out after that but none made easier by wagner and walken's almost total silence thereafter.

@@mgm4736 Back then it would've ruined RJ. He was set up to be a ladies man. It Takes a Thief and Switch had him surrounded with beautiful women.

@@gaelswed Wow you may have hit the nail on the head! I know Natalie divorced him the first time because she caught him having sex with a man. Maybe she walked in on something and threatened him and he knocked her out and threw her off the boat. Makes a lot of sense tbh
