Loved the video, sir. The only other Gipsy Moth I ever saw was at the Gelnhausen, Germany, airfield. (Circa 1968). It was being sold and was to be ferried to England. I wasn't flying then, but was free-falling from airplanes at the Gelnhausen field. Also saw a Fiesler Storch, 156, come in and land. I could run that fast. :-) I'd like to try a Storch - an Experimental Amateur Built Storch would be fun. Learned to say, in German: "Ich möchte heute springen, wo kann ich mich anmelden?" Translation: I want to jump today, where do I register?" ha, ha. Finally got my PPL in 1980, in NJ. No more free falling - getting too old for that. :-) A couple of broken bones added to the mix. :-) I built an Experimental amateur Built plane, an EROS 1650 Minimax, and flew it for over 13 years and over 750 hrs. Loved that little plane. Always slipped down "Final" and held it all through the round out and into the flare. Fun, but lots of rudder. :-) However, my favorite airplane was the GA Piper Arrow - like a little sports car. :-) But the wings started to break off - lots of corrosion. Nice video, the only problem is it's too short!!😂 Why is the prop swung with just the right mag? Less chance of a kickback off the prop? Loving the JP843 Typhoon t-shirt by the way
The Impulse magneto is wired to that forward switch. You start on that one to avoid getting a kickback, then switch the other one On once the engine fires.
Lovely little aeroplanes! And a perfect spot to fly from by the looks of things too.
Hey Dave, your slip was showing! (Nicely done, good sir.)
Great video. I learnt two things: Short flight then see what leaked broke or fell off. Wingovers to practice rudder authority of a new plane.

Hah! Yes, but I have an excuse -- I only had one evening to stitch this together, then off to fly the Spitfire and the Mustang.

@@davehadfield5906 ok, that's about the best excuse there could possibly be. Duly forgiven! 😄
@@davehadfield5906 thanks, I hadn't thought about the impulse mag.
Hadfield! You goddamn lucky son of a gun, you!
Too short dave, the vid
