the horses movements look stiff and ridged as if they have leg injuries like stress fractures or tender muscles that needs to be iced down with cold water daily after each work out. also it looks like the horses could use a better farrier to trim their hooves and fitted for the right horse shoes in the right positions for dressage movements. from dressage i have seen performed should be smooth and supple movements , relaxed and agile. this is clearly not seen in this demonstration at all. the horses look stiff and tired. Dressage originally was designed for war and combat. It was so the soldiers could go hands free from the horse's reigns and rely only on leg commands so the soldiers could hold the weapons in their hands like bows and arrows, or wield a sword and shield on horse back giving them the advantage over their enemies on the battle field. The smooth supple movements of the horses were vital so the soldier could have a more accurate shot at their target rather than holding on to a horse running wildly with a choppy bouncy gait. Today dressage is kept alive as an art to behold and to remember our past. Seen in this demonstration in the vid those movements would clearly not withstand a combative situation and would not make grade below 30 points in a dressage competition.
Dressage is not only there because we wanted to keep traditions alive. It is also the basis for modern riding. Horses weren’t built to carry weight, so we have to build their muscles to be able to do that. That’s what dressage is for. However, all of these horses are extremely hyperflexed at some point, meaning that their head gets pulled to the horses chest. Horse and rider aren’t a union, these riders work by using force, which was never to point of dressage.
I'm sitting here, wondering how japanese people got spanish horses. I mean spain is on the other side of the planet. HOW? If they were imported... poor horses. They look very unhappy and stressed. The neck is too tight because of the short reins.
At 3:13 >>>horse nervous >>> tail moving, cantering on hard ground (soil) >>>bad for the legs, too short rains >>>rollkur and rider with stiff back >>>his bottom is not close to the saddle. Positive (at 4:21): This rider/long hair: no spurs!!
There is literally almost every horse breed available in almost every country. German horse breeds like the Hanoverian for example are used all over the world for competition. It’s not that hard to import a horse.
Doesn't look too nice to me and I am not very experienced as a rider with only having started theory and practical riding one year ago, but this looks like Rollkur to me, when the horse's head (almost) touches its own chest. Let me quote FEI, which is the International Federation For Equestrian Sports: "The FEI condemns hyperflexion in any equestrian sport as an example of mental abuse. The FEI states that it does not support the practice." Furthermore the horses seem incredibly stressed to me by seeing how much they drool and foam and how much they whip their tails without flies or any other insects being around. I am sorry to say it this straight forward, but to me this is animal abuse.
All of these riders are very heavy handed, you can see how hard they pull the reigns back and don’t allow any movement of the head. The horses are definitely hyperflexed and stiff, this is not the point of dressage.
They are absolutely hyperflexed, especially in the beginning. A lot of incapable riders do that to make the horse behave better, to „show them their place“ essentially. These horses aren’t properly collected, they are forced. This is a poor show, not dressage.
DISGUSTING CRUELTY! TERRIBLE RIDING. constantly kicking and digging pointy hard steel into the poor animals sides, jabbing and pulling at the poor horses mouths due to terrible hands and seat. Just because a horse is well fed and groomed, does not mean it's not being abused, tortured, in pain. You silly , uninformed people writing ooooohhhh sssooooo cute, ooooohhh so amazing. Makes me so angry. This is abuse!
Technically, if done right, there would be no harm in this. Dressage is really good for a horse. However, these people are riding with horribly hard hands and force their horses head down to fake collection. This is an absolute shitshow.
That is typical top level bad riding. The horses are hyperflexed and stiff, the riders signs are in no way subtle and it looks like overall shit. The point of dressage is not to make a horse to pretty moves, to point is to keep the horse happy and healthy. And you failed greatly at that.

You should watch video of the Lipizzaners from Austria. Just as beautiful if not more so, and no mistreatment.
I enjoy how they do a riding show at the race course, in between races. To show how the horse is versatile. Not only for racing.

Are they PRE?

So unnatural! The horse is foaming at the mouth and I don’t think it’s natural for the horses neck to be in that position.😢

way too narrow! the head has no place behind the vertical!! Head pulled down to chest! Catastrophe!
This is terrible!😱 Poor horse!😢
People should stop using animals for their entertainment. I would prefer them running in the fields.

Bruh this is absolutly caos, nothing is good. Leave horses to people that know how to treat them well and right
I hate to see the heads forcibly tucked in like that
Animal abuse
