- Tired of cramming your tools and gear under the seat? Frustrated every time you bang and scrape your knuckles when trying to recover your wrenches? NOT made of money?? Well then look no further our friends - this is the video for you! We'll show you how to free up space in the cockpit and empty out your doorbags while STILL being able tote all of your riding essentials - AND ALL FOR LESS THAN $50!!!
I did the same. I mounted mine upside down so all 4 latches work. 😊
Just bought the same box for my x3!Good video
It definitely does the job
Thanks for the idea. I did same set up but I used rubberized cords with hooks to hold it down just so that it’s not permanent. One good idea to do is flip it upside down that way the latches open easier.
That's a great idea!
I was surprised how well that fit. It looks perfect for what you wanted to do. Heck of a lot cheaper than other boxes. Good job!
Right? I can't take full credit I've seen this on forearms and on Facebook before. Thank you.
Great Diy Project. It's always better to think outside of the box instead of being a follower. Keep up the great video content.
Thank you sir! we will definitely keep trying.
Great solution and fits the machine well, great job.
Thank you, and thank you for watching and commenting.
Great idea. Storage is a major issue with these side by sides. Looks like you found the perfect solution for you guys. Hope it holds up well...
Thanks man! we appreciate it. Thanks for watching and commenting
Awesome video thanks. I’m going to get something like that.
Thank you!
Great video bro 10 thumbs up 👍 just ordered mine can’t wait to install it
Right on! Thank you so much. It has worked out great for us, still using it.
Awesome project! Love the Osmo Action! ☝️💪🏼
Thanks man, yeah, I love our gopro but the osmo just works every time you turn it on.
Dandi Offroad Switched to my other account lol, yea man I use my GoPro every weekend and sometimes it’s buggy.. so annoying
I have the Hero 6. I now know what my next camera is
DJI Action ?
I love your guys ideas they are supper cool 😎 I have been looking for something for my RZR to go in the back it needs to be square... now I’m thinking I should just do a soft bag 🤪🤪😊👍😎
If you're looking for an ice chest or cooler those AO soft sided ones are the way to go. if you're looking for a storage box we actually bought a Ridgid for from home Depot that we mounted using the one inch freeze plugs
Great job guys
Thank you!!!!
Oh man I been slacking on the RUclips. I really dig this solution. We ended up just buying the can am box and my dad was so disappointed with it. Sometimes it just feels better when you can rig stuff up like this.
Right? ive been budget rigging all my live,, LOL
People always talk like they are rich! A cheap box is all you need if you want to spend $500 on a plastic box because you are soooo rich go ahead. I use a cheap waterproof box and I am switching out for a $30 Plano box. It’s funny I have the same bow case! It looks good on your buggy.
That bow case worked great for a few years for us and we still have it in the garage, we did end up with a can am box, but only because we bought it used and got a great deal. But yes, they work and do the job just fine.
Great job guys!
Thanks man!!!
Oh and love the Dandi off road seakers 👍 you guys are awesome wish I lived closer🌸
Looks like we are going to be in Pismo the weekend of July 12th.
It works. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome! thanks for watching
also i believe those cases have a hole in it for adding a lock, so you could put a keyed or combination padlock on it if you were going to be going places where it could be left unattended and it would also prevent it from opening on a jump or bump
you are correct they do. And we have some small locks that we will probably use and certain situations but so far have had no issues with them popping up
Thanks for the video. I’d been looking for a better way to store my gear because the dewalt tool box blocks most of my rear view. The one change I’d suggest is turning the case “upside down” so the latches hinge on the bottom clamshell. I did that and ran the case as far back as I could. The latches are really easy to open now. Doing it “right side up” I ran into the same problem you showed in the video.
This let me get my tools and gear back in bags and I don’t have to lug the whole giant tool box around when I need to work on something. This is so much better than any of the can am cases because I can see out the back now. Thanks guys.
Thank you so much. we ended up just ditching the outer latches.
I like it. Good idea.
it worked out great, well see how it holds up.
Good job like it keep up the great video's.
good video as usual, fun and informative dont have can am have to find another way to thanks stay safe
what brand is the side battery ratchet that you are you using? It seems perfect for all the small stuff including taking the belt housing off as always looking forward to your next video. thanks and keep them coming
Thank you very much man, preciate it
Thank you so much for watching and commenting we really appreciate it.
The power ratchet is a Milwaukee. It does work very well for around the shop and would work great for the clutch housing. And thank you very much.
The next time you are in Costco go to the office supple area and look for 5 pack of project boxes. They fit under the seat. I store tire repair and first aid kit. Stuff in need to get quickly.
Perfect, we will try that. One of the reason's we added this box was to make more room in the car, that would be perfect.
For my tools I got the brp (billet racing prod) belt bag fits perfectly under the seats 1 for belt and related tools to change my belt and 2 more for all my other stuff , my ao works great but I do pack everything in ice pretty good , I guess im luck haven’t had any emptys
so 1 bag fits under the seat? or more? I have a 4 seater so this would work for me too...as long as they don't slide around and out.
Kenny Dalton I have a 2 seater and 2 bags fit perfectly under the seat in between the frame rails so nothing slides around and they fit between the seat frame mount and the floor then drop into the lower area under the seat my belt is in the 3 rd bag with tools needed to change it then my first aid kit tow rope etc under the drivers seat so nothing moves around , not familiar with how the seats are on the 4 seater if you have a floor board for your feet and it drops down under the seats like the 2 seater , seems like they’d be the same
Love it
Looks Great.. I have that Bow case and the only weak point is the hinges, zip tie or bungee it at the carrying handle. Otherwise tool could go flying when you jump it.Otherwise it’s indestructible
Thanks for letting us know we'll definitely keep an eye on them. And thanks for watching and commenting.
Get a Velcro strap or those extension cord organizers to wrap around the handle, or 2 rubber snubbers over the entire case so it doesn't pop open. You'll blow that budget for sure if you have to replace all the contents.
Tyler Jameson exactly those cheap latches pop in the back of my pickup truck just over little bumps... I’ve sent my Bow flying by not securing on my 4wheeler.. now I Wrap it in a bungee cord...
It’s a awesome Idea I would have keep the foam and bought more because with the. Way you guys drive all the contents are rattling around in the case and will break the case or damage them..
Nice, neat little storage Solution I'd like to try. What's the name of the bow case?
It's a Plano Bow Case, it's available at a bunch of different locations but we got it at Dick's Spotting Goods. we've had it on a couple of trips and so far it has worked great. Actually forgot it was even back there. Have opened and used tools out of it on both trips.
I have the Can-Am cooler but that works just as good
Yeah, we saw the idea on forums and facebook, figured why not try it.
Dandi Offroad I wish I’ve seen this before I bought mine will save me money
FYI...little trick that works awesome on can drinks in a ice chest. Pending on how big it is use a towel or rag...lay it over the drinks and ice. Keeps the cans from banging into each other...u can even use this trick in your soft chest as well. sounds dumb but it works
Honestly that actually looks pretty good and looks like it fits like a glove, thanks for sharing
Sounds like it would work. But with the AO soft sided bag we no longer have that issue.
Yeah, not really our idea I saw it on forums and facebook, thought we would try it and video. Thanks for commenting,, we'll see how it works out.
Could have put the box on with the latches on the bottom side then it would be easier to release them
Yes I know one of our viewers and friend Andy did so. Only problem is the way those boxes seal means they can leak if they're upside down
@@DandiOffroad I know they are not as cheap as the case you have but the all weather series plano case can be bought for around 100$ and is more sturdy and water tight. The latches would not accidentally open. They are very similar to a pelican case. Also still way cheaper than the can am.
Nice!
You have it install? How it fits?
Armando it will not fit too wide
Sweet!
THANKS!
Really good idea. Too bad it wasn't a little thicker just to make it less flimsy but I think I may copy you guys on this. Looks like it was made for the X3! If you guys want a new project which is just for looks, others are taking their front shocks and switching sides which ends up putting the reservoir facing out and visible. If you haven't seen it yet, google it. Looks really cool and some argue it helps with keeping the shocks cool. That would be a good video if you decide to do that. I'm going to do it on mine (doing new arms, tie rods, gusset kit, Hess steering rack brace) so may as well switch shocks too.
Thank you, I feel like it turned out pretty good. It is a little flimsy but I think it'll do the job I know others have used it. I have seen the shock reversal and know a couple of people who have done it, it does look really cool but the problem for us with that is that we are running MTS shocks with larger springs and do adjust our shocks from time to time and that makes it hard to get a spanner wrench on them.
@@DandiOffroad ah yeah you are right about the shocks. I will go with shock therapy or MTS but figured once they are adjusted its done. But good point on that...something for me to think about.
when you put new springs on, about 200 miles in you will need to adjust them after that technically probably shouldn't have to adjust the ride height again.
@@DandiOffroad Well it may be worth doing just for the video. I don't think anyone has made a video of this yet, I've only seen pictures. So you'd be the first on youtube for that.
You make a good point and it's a super easy thing to do. The other drawback is you have to trim your plastics a little bit to make it happen. But we might, good idea!!
Just a Mexican dude passing by love the videos man keep em up
Thanks for stopping in man, and thank you for commenting
Is there a reason you didn't use bigger plugs so they would sit between the box an the bed?
that's a good idea, we just bought was fit in the holes in the bed
What kind of oil do u run. Need to know
We've been running rotella
Love my AO cooler. I got a 24 pack in a box on my XPT.
They are AWESOME!
Old news this was brought up over a year ago on forum
Yeah pretty sure I mentioned that in the video. Not my idea I just did a video showing how I did it.
