    I laughed a lot. Very entertaining. I watched every second. Keep letting your sense of humor show. It was great.

      Thanks Trey. I have fun with it, and Tray and I both laugh a lot when we work and fish together.

    Great video! As you are probably already aware of, the maximum speed of any displacement hull is governed by a simple formula: hull speed in knots equals 1.34 times the square root of the waterline length in feet (HS = 1.34 x √LWL). You may be able to get a little more speed out of the hull, but the increased power required will significantly reduce range.

      The fastest kayak I’ve tested with the Ultralight 1103 went 7.6 mph. It was a 15.5 foot long Wilderness Systems Thresher 155. The hull is actually similar to the Shoalie, just much longer. So that plays into the formula you typed above. The length at the waterline changes once power is applied. The stern squats and the length shortens, unless there is a disproportionate amount of weight forward.

    I think Crescent calls the moulded in cable guides “frog eyes”. 👍
    Cool video! Im learning a lot about the 1103 motor, I’m thinking about mounting one to a kayak to fish fast flowing rivers.

      Frog 🐸 eyes sounds right. I’ve also heard “Stand offs”.

    Getting ready to install a torqeedo on my ck1 and maybe a lite tackle 2 down the road. A question I had was the black tubing for the foot steering is 3/16" however I see some using the bigger quarter inch clear tubing as well. In your experience does the bigger clear tubing make for a smoother operation compared to this smaller black tubing? I was thinking maybe the cord sliding through a bigger diameter tubing might work better but you guys are the pros and if it does not add to better performance I will gladly go with the black tubing and drilling smaller holes if no benefit is added.😁

      I actually did three installs on this last trip with three different types of tubing. The black 3/16th stuff that comes with the Innovative Sportsman foot control steering kit is the best to worth with during installation. I’ve not noticed any difference in steering smoothness with different types of tubing.

    Is there any reason why you couldn't reverse the bolts that attach the torqeedo mount? The round hex head seems like it would fit better inside the hull since it's such a tight fit.

    Would a deep cycle boat battery work for powering the electronics where you could just have the one battery and have a distribution box feeding the separate devices?

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  2 года назад +1

      Yep. People do that all the time with a Dakota Lithium battery and YakPower system.

      Would you recommend the shoalie for a first timer? Seems like it’s capable of growing with with more additions as experience is gained and plenty if room to add on. The black pack would look good on it

    Get enough crescent wrenches you can make a hillbilly anchor. That’s all their good for. A pair of knipex channel locks works wonders

    Is there a concern for how long of space the spectra cable is unprotected before connecting to pedals?

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  2 года назад +1

      I’ve not had issues with that exposed length of Spectra. I suppose that a hook could catch it, but with all the horizontal rod storage I do, and it not happening to me yet, it’s likely not a frequent issue.

    What kind of battery do you have?

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  2 года назад +1

      The battery is part of the Torqeedo Ultralight. It’s a 915 Watt hour lithium battery. It is IP-67 rated waterproof. The internal GPS module communicates speed to the throttle. That is how the remaining range display is possible.
