For the money, the Islander watch is definitely a great value, if you don’t care about the brand that is.

Even if you do care about the brand... Marc is a great guy, who runs a great business. Similar to many other micro brands.
Although in my opinion the logo needs some work. It looks too similar to the indices, and throws the whole dial off.
You could buy a seiko and spend a bunch of money customizing it I suppose. It’s like someone already did all the customization. Idk if you can retrofit the screw crown though.
And they need to change the back logo. Logo developing is important to appeal to a large group of folks. So as important as designing a watch and after putting the seal (logo) to to compete it.

Another great review! Very attractive watch indeed. I also have a 6.5inch wrist and love my skx 009. The short lug to lug makes it work on me and I think it works for you too. Keep up the good work man 👍

Bucket list huh? Go skydiving, dive with whales, do a Hot Ones style hot wings gauntlet, participate in a proper Oktoberfest, brew my own beer, smoke my homegrown bud, and shoot an AK, shotgun, & a sniper rifle. I know it's a little bit of a douchey bucket list but it's mine.
Okay I want to append my list to include Oktoberfest but hell nawww to the naw naww naaaw for the Hot One's hot wings gauntlet :p I will never again consume anything hotter than a jalapeno :p. I have tried a 1 million Scoville chili extract and it almost killed me!

I have thought of "moding" an SKX but by the time I buy all the parts (case, crystal,casebacks, dials, hands, gaskets) and the tools (crystal press, hand setters) and regulate the movement I was looking NORTH of $700.
Then I looked at the Chinese clones like Heimdallr and Steel dive but wasn't impressed.
This red October has me thinking. Its very intriguing and impressive and exceeds the OEM SKX in terms of value proposition and anesthetics.

I’m a fan of the islanders...I’ve got three of them now. I was turned off by these initially because it’s a mix of all things I don’t care for. I don’t like embossed bezels, I don’t like polish, and I don’t care for the dial color....but I gotta say..seeing this one all put together with the things I don’t like is awesome. It’s actually very good looking, I want one now. Kinda like gin and tonic...both are pretty disgusting, but mix them and it’s magic!
This is the first vid of yours I have seen, just popped up in the recommendations. I was already enjoying it and then your two little friends popped up at the end. Had me laughing out loud. Great stuff. I am now a subscriber and look forward to watching your other vids. Oh, and by the way, I am just about to make a purchase from Long Island Watches. Just can't quite decide which one. From watching Marc on RUclips and seeing other peoples reviews of the watches, and the the respect he seems to have for the way he deals with customers and runs the set up, I am looking forward to putting some business his way. I bought my first Seiko automatic from Long Island Watch the Seiko SKX007.
In my humble opinion the watch is too big for your wrist. Marc, if you are reading this, please make a 38mm version of the Red October and please take my money!

Ok back to the watch, omfg if this came in a Pepsi bezel it would be such an instacop, even though it's very close to being a instacop right now. Just such a well done diver/yacht watch. The red second hand is a great added touch compared to the last version.
Lol Karate Kid II, does anyone buy for a second that Chosen would lose a fight to death against Daniel? Drum punch or not, Chosen would mop that mook from Newark. Apparently dude has a restaurant in the Seattle area and is still in great shape. Who wouldn't wanna see him in an upcoming season of Cobra Kai?

I FULLY think that he will be in Season 3. Or perhaps Season 4. I do also feel that Terry Silver will be in Season 3 and that Tory might be his daughter! There's so many theories! @@minitwatch I really think Season 3 is gonna be the Ali season and maybe Season 4 gonna be Chosen. The original Karate Kid is one of my favorite movies of all time, no joke probably seen it over a thousand times since I was a kid. Cobra Kai did the movie well, even with its thrown in sjw nonsense, but its a good series. I'd love to see all the old actors come back to it. It's such great source material.

Hey man do you think this would wear too big on a 6inch wrist? As a replacement for my mako 2 I just bought the 38mm version but was debating between this 43mm one. Hope I don’t regret it lol.
