My all-time favourite actor !. We saw him at the Windmill Theatre in Great Yarmouth in the early 70's when I was 9/10 and a snobby, old-bag complained to my mum that I was laughing too loud and too much - my mum, who was always the perfect lady, told this woman to shut-up and suggested she try cracking her face into a smile !. Sid was superb that night, absolutely brilliant !
Sid James was in everything back then 🎥 he must have had to learn so many lines 📃 classic comedy is just so wonderful happy to say you have a new subscriber 😁
The wonderful actor/comedian Dick Shawn had a similar ending. He was onstage and had just told a joke about dying and was lying on the stage floor as laughter filled the theatre... and then someone finally realized that he wasn't ok. To a lot of us in 'the business', that may be a perfect farewell. Not sure how these gents felt about it. Rest in peace, Sid and Dick... Bon voyage 💫
Valerie never tried to stop him gambling..I've witnessed this rose glasses bs on my own mother and dead father, she says so much bs of how they were together. To ease their own guilt. She didn't try to stop him? She had his salary paid into a account only she could access and she gave Sid a allowance per week of which when it was gone it was gone which led to Sid taking roles only if they would pay half and half. Half thru the books and the other in pocket..this is known fact, and proven time again. She was legendary towards his gambling.
Good documentary shone the light on some real facts I saw another one and it suggested he was always cheating on his wife. His wife def stuck with him to the end.
Sid was a multi talented non conventional looking star. He was also a gentleman. Once a taxi driver made a crude antisemitic remark, Sid a former boxer who was Jewish though kept nothing punched his lights out!
6:40 - It seems that Hancock had a really problem with jealously, he got rid of Sid and he got rid of Kenneth Williams when he became the star of the show. Hancock for all his talent just didn't seem to have "Star" power. He made more TV stars that any other writer other than maybe The Frost report.

@@kingy002 it is so well documented, it’s in Babs autobiography, it was in news papers, and other cast members talked about, now I don’t want to be so sad arguing over terrible but good moves like the carry on films.
I still watch him in the carry on movies one of the greatest actors of all time doesn't get the credit he deserves.
I absolutely loved Sid James and still love him to this day. I loved all the Carry on films and still watch them when I need a pick me up.

8 years younger than Valerie's father...

17:38 "With the lady in question". Ouch.
I noticed that she couldn't say her name
My mother used to call him George for some reason.
Why does the wooden doll behind Jack Douglas look like Christopher Biggins??
Was thinking the same
Saw a bit of Steve McQueen in Sid.
12:15 Why would you post that image?
What's wrong with it?
This is definitely saying a lot about you vs the innocent photo. Think about it, please.

Cohen financed the bombing of British civilians in Palestine during the 1940s.
Cohen was never a boxer.
Sid James made me laugh I thought he was great and a great actor l have seen all his films I like off with his head and carry on camping
He liked them young

The writers did.
I thought he was from Rhodesia rather than RSA.
Zimbabwe
Exactly, Zim from 1980, Rhodesia before Independence.
She is in denial! James was all over Babs!
