I have a ton of recipes I will be featuring on the channel using the Tatung cooker, so please stay tuned! The texture on that brown sugar cake is AMAZING. I also know many of you want to see more one-pot, rice cooker recipes, so I'll absolutely be keepng that in mind. Please let me know if you have any questions and please feel free to mention Yun Hai as well. They have a lovely team over there and I'm sure will be able to answer any of your questions☺
im so glad you made this video i've wanted to buy this for a while but i couldn't find the info i wanted to know online. I putting my order for a cute green one today :) i used your discount my total was $229.50 plus taxes all together for $253.03. I ordered the whole set with all the extra stuff!!
I would suggest to get 10 cup cooker because you can cook a big stew in the pot, and yet you can use a smaller size of corelle bowl to cook smaller portions of food.
I love that little toy rice cooker! I'd make it into a Christmas tree ornament! I went to the Yun Hai site and it IS wonderful, but do I need this rice cooker? Your enthusiastic review makes the idea really tempting . . . Thanks for posting 🙂
Haha --- it's already going on the tree😂😂😂!!! I think just think about what you'll be using it for. I am a kitchen gadget/equipment fanatic, so I love showing you all. But it's important you have a use for it as well. True it will serve amazingly as a decorative piece too😂 But there's time with the code (6 months) and we have more recipes to come.
I do love that it's stainless steel so it doesn't touch plastic. True they are definitely an investment and I'm hoping mine last as long as tatung cookers typically do. But definitely consider the code if you're thinking about it. There's a 6 month expiration. And all and all think about what you'll want it for and your uses for it. I'm always short on kitchen space and just want to invest in something that will last and that I will use😊❤
@@EastMeetsKitchen definitely thought about getting it, but ended up replacing my zojirushi inner pot instead a while ago. the Tatung seems like a classic design. genuinely impressed that you managed a deal with the US distributor the one other rice steamer I know of is this xiaomi rice steamer that connects with an app and seems a bit overcomplicated.
I am currently living with a family in Taiwan. I find cooking rice in the steamer to be simple and always comes out great; plus you can steam vegetables and fish.
i use my rice cooker on the slow cook setting for black beans every week for my daily breakfast smoothie. i know you mentioned this can't do beans but would soaking the beans prior help at all or would beans just simply not get cooked at the high enough temp to use in a smoothie? thanks!
So, it's not that it can't do beans. I think I meant that in comparison to a pressure cooker it would do beans slower. Hmmm...could do a shorts on it😂 I'd have to time it. Definitely soaking ahead of time helps..and you can just go by the chart in terms of how much water and time. I'd have to experiment a bit though...I'll let you know in the shorts😂
Thank you for this one! I had been looking for a "multi-pot" on and off for several months, but I couldn't find one that I thought I would really like. Loved your review, so I just went out there and grabbed one with your code. I did have one question: Does the pot come with a hard copy of the cookbook? I was pleasantly surprised when they sent me a digital version right away. But I was hoping that it came with a hard copy as well.
Oh I can't wait for you to get it!! So they had also sent me a pdf before I received the unit and I think if you ordered the one with the cookbook, it will be a physical one. Please feel free to email them as well to make sure.
I don't really mind that the rice sticks, rice sticks in my old rice cooker which is a 'non-stick' 😂 I'll have to think about this as an investment as I really love having a rice cooker and a stainless steel option is just so much better.
So Tatung has some distributors in the UK (not sure about Europe) but I didn't go with them because they only offered white as the colour. If you don't mind that I would maybe have a search around. My guess is they probably do.
What voltage is use n plug.. i am from Singapore, currently we use Euro plug similar to hk switches. voltageis 220 to 240v. . tks. Looking 4warded for ur reply..
These definitely are ❤ But I imagine Tatung has a few factories around the world...I think Thailand may be one, but I'm sure the standards are maintained.
There are so many versions at the stores now! I guess depending on age, your friend might have a more modern looking version or probably knows of family that definitely have it. The ones they carry at Yun Hai are definitely the prettiest though☺️☺️
I know they're still investigating the case, so I can't speak for that. People should definitely check out the BDS boycott list. Down with colonialism. Down with capitalism.
Unless you’re Hezbollah, then you don’t need to worry about that. The pager explosions were designed to specifically target Hezbollah members/associates. Taiwanese products are generally of good quality. If you assume everything from Taiwan is unsafe, then should I use your logic and assume all Muslims are violent terrorists?

wonderful. heard these are stainless steel and don't have pfas/nonstick issues. thx for sharing. I heard they're expensive though

It's a $30 piece of tech, not $180.
Just ordered a cooker. Thanks for providing the review!
(And your cookbook too)
Awww so glad you enjoyed both!!❤❤
Love the green colour 😍

Just discovered this cooker! Looking forward to more Tatung recipes vids!
😊😊
when it says 6 cup cooker does it mean 6 cup of uncooked rice or 6 cup of cooked rice?
I love Tatung rice cooker. I have been using it since 1970s.
now that's a proper advert❤😂
I think I am sold. No flaking teflon and not fussy electronics to play with.
I don't really mind that the rice sticks, rice sticks in my old rice cooker which is a 'non-stick' 😂 I'll have to think about this as an investment as I really love having a rice cooker and a stainless steel option is just so much better.
How long does it take to cook rice? That is the question.
Gacha prizes are hot right now 😂 a beautiful and useful addition to any kitchen, well worth the investment!
I spent so much money on those machines! $3-$4 on those bigger pieces. Not cheap!😂
do you know whether they sell these in europe

@@EastMeetsKitchen id love a white one. But id probably need to change the plug if ordered from the uk

Just make sure the rice cooker is made in Taiwan. I have seen some sold in Amazon is made in countries other than Taiwan.
These definitely are ❤ But I imagine Tatung has a few factories around the world...I think Thailand may be one, but I'm sure the standards are maintained.
my mom has one. . and she still uses it.
❤❤
Why can't I get the bigger one in green?
you can now! i guess it was just sold out . i just bought the 11 cup green one
I'm going to Taiwan on January 2025, I'm curious to find out if my friend there has one of these 😃

@@EastMeetsKitchen I'll see what I find ;-)
me watching this as I wait for amazon to deliver my rice cooker :| (not Tatung)
Hehe, well keep it in mind. I think the discount will last until lunar new year. We can explore rice cooker recipes in the meantime☺
@@EastMeetsKitchen it’s on my wish list! It’s so hard to find stainless steel options, this one is really nice.
after current events in lebanon, you wouldn't get me to bring taiwanese product in my home, even if you paid me "fu" money to do it
I know they're still investigating the case, so I can't speak for that. People should definitely check out the BDS boycott list. Down with colonialism. Down with capitalism.
yep esp after the second round of explosions :X
