The Mondeo is looking so much better, it’s so satisfying to see it going back to how it should look. I’ve got a Mini Cooper S project at the minute (inspired directly by your videos) which I’m repairing as well as un-pimping.
Your attitude is right up my street....dump all that crap like tints, gelbadges and stuff is just the way I would go as well. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.
Love your videos, literally binge watched like 90% of them all. Driven me to do some jobs on my own car and some maintenance bits. You break it down nicley and show it's achievable. Keep up the awesome videos
Dude, I think in the past 2 weeks I have watched all your videos. You do a great job of keeping the viewers attention the whole video and great job teaching us how to do things. Keep up the good work man!
Love the colour of this car so much, can’t wait till its all finished and you do some beauty shots of it. Looks great with all the original bits and pieces put back, keep up the good work James.
Cram some silicone sealent into the edges of the headlight housings where they have been apart, works a treat when they've been opened. Need to do a few applications let it all dry and go at them again.
Looks so much better with the standard badges and un-smoked rear lights. Use the Ring Xenon 150% bulbs for the brighter whiter look, fully road legal as well.
Had the same problem changing the cigarette lighter on my 2001 Ford Focus few years back ended up getting annoyed and just broke the plastic to get it out 😂 then took me ages to fit the new one. Like the longer videos they are good 😀
Another great video James.your Focus is coming on a treat. I've got a Vectra C Sri myself.my headlights were full of condensation when I bought my car and I got in touch with a guy in Norwich and he charged me £30 to mop both headlight units.he recommended putting silicon gel all the way round the headlights and I found that helped draw the moisture out aswell. I absolutely love your channel it's informative it's relatable, and I've learned soo much from you I'm now fixing my own car and saving a fortune lol. Thank you dude much love to you in a non weird way👍
I recently got a Pioneer DEH-4500BT head-unit for my car, it has AUX, USB, Bluetooth and Parrot all integrated into one. Well worth the money, and I totally recommend it to ya.
Another excellent video mate it's the little things that make a difference. As for we don't want 20-30 minute videos yes we do, I could sit here and watch them as could probably most of your subscribers. Keep up the good work 👍
Great Vid Jame's....looking loads better getting rid of the 'Tat.... Do your spraying of small parts in the shed in cold weather....and warm your paint up and the bits your spraying as well, you need warmth in the stuff for drying....i've been doing it for over 40 years, works well...🙂👍
New badges and getting rid of the red has made a massive improvement. Subtle mods are the best mods. Keep up the good work. Just watch out for the dreaded bonnet lock failing. Very common on the Ford's of that era.
Great work buddy, I kind of done things for my Mondeo back to front, I got the recaro leather seats, xenon lights but haven't got the Mondeo yet , like yours mine will be a project, Keep up the good work 😊
The silver part of cig lighter comes out first then slant the coloured plastic and pull out , putting back is the reverse. Also i would remove the tdci from bumper grill . Another great vid again . I miss my old mondy .
First of all, love your videos. Own a mk2 Focus 1.6 myself so those were helpfull. As far as the Mondeo stereo is concerned, there are 2din unist that look alot like the cd6000 that was originally fitted to them, but they have a 7 in touchscreen with BT, navi and all. Not too expensive also.
The plastic housing on the cigarette lighter twist lock on the barrel. You just have to hold the center of the sig lighter steady. The side support on the seat is a common issue as well. The metal bar hides inside the foam, has broken off the seat frame. I ended up replacing my seat frame and seat bottom from a donor car. They tend to break off when you sit on the side support etc. The metal rod is just 6mm or so, so not the strongest in the world. And never put you knee it the seat cushion, that will break you heating element.
Great video as always. If they have had the lights apart to fit the rings inside then the chances are that will be your moisture problem....... looking better with each video...
Nice work James, do yourself a favour , get a cheapo 90 degree drill attachment, drill the exhaust side of your turbo --centrally with where you would imagine the bearings to be. ( 7 mm). Next , tap it with 8 mm tap, fit a short bolt with copper washer. Now you can squirt Mr muscle oven cleaner aerosol in , this frees up the turbo vanes by dissolving the carbon and soot, so your turbo electronic actuator don't blow trying to move gummed up vanes, -- this, an EGR clean and trust me you will be driving a different car. Mucho POKE for nowt. Plus u can clean your turbo more easily in the future.
Messed up 1st message. Drill n tap the turbo to accept an 8mm threaded bolt --exhaust side. Then u can spray clean with Mr muscle oven cleaner to unblock the carbon deposits on the vanes . This will save your turbo actuator from blowing while trying to move gummed up t/ vanes. This works brilliant. Did mine and it was a different car afterwards together with the egr clean.
The most enjoyable 24:13 ive yet to see in any video lol. Great video as always, outside of the car absolutely looks cleaner, personal preferance im not a fan of tinting headlights/rear lights. Cant believe how easy it is to take your headlights out! Keep up the good work matey👍🏼👍🏼
Have enjoyed watching your videos, and I wouldn't worry too much about the length. Mondeo is looking soo much better - still needs a rear wiper though 😊
I have an old corsa b arizona its a pretty basic car with no cig lighter but it had a blanking plate over the hole it goes in, i wired in a twin usb socket as opposed to buying the cig lighter then buying a car charging socket i can just use one of my spare usb cables now, might be something for you to think about doing :)
I had a Mondeo on a 56 plate and I only got rid of it due to The Injectors going and losing my mobiliy. I have to say it was a cracking car to Drive and after a Engine de coke it also became very economical to run. Best I ever had was 71.6 MPG, but could often get it to do 56 MPG on a long run. I was amazed how simple it was to remove the Grill and Headlights, Never had to change the bulbs on the Mondeo, unlike the Wife's old Focus.
That MPG seems a bit impossible for me at the moment. I checked my inlet manifold when I cleaned the EGR and it was full of s**t. Maybe a clear out will help. I did on my old `53 plate Mondy, really easy to do.
@@christopherland4240 I can't for the life of me think why the engine was de coked now but with the extra MPG I got out of it with a bit of a gentlier approach to the throttle, was worth it, as I was running in the late 30s early 40's before hand. Just wish I could get the same return form the Current car.
had a good chuckle watching you pull that cig lighter out, chinese puzzle your not kidding, you need to pull off the green plastic first it has a couple of clips to remove, enjoying watching your mondeo vids, good to see your putting it back to standard, had a mondeo zetec s 2.5 v6 in white loved it probs best car i've owned.
Had the cigarette lighter issue myself on my MK1 Yaris, changed the cassette player for a Sony single din but the facia held the cigarette lighter. I must have sat there for about 30 mins trying to figure it out until I noticed a screw at the bottom unscrewed that and it came apart in 2 pieces. Of course the new facia plate wasn't a perfect fit for it and the port would move around inside it so I ended up giving it a generous amount of hot glue and its been solid since.
@Dash cam Nissan UK 1990 yea deffo, if you want a little run around small engine. They are nippy and reliable. Mines on 150,000 miles . Starting to burn more oil than normal now though 👎
Mine is a phase 1 Yaris GS and currently has 75k on it. I've owned it for about 8 months and its cost me nothing in repairs nice for commuting to work and keeping the miles off my 350z, wish I got the 1.3 though.
The car has gone from arse to class, looks heaps better. Love the Lockwood tm bodge zipties for the seat, does the job for now. I'm a sub of Lees as well but even he knows deep down he's a bodgy bugger when working on cars ;)
@@TheSavageGarage I have an ST220 and have done no body mods at all. I do intend to replace the exhaust with a Miltek, but that'll be all I do. A lot of the bodywork mods I see on Mondeo's (and other cars too to be honest) I think look tacky.
I have a question here for the type of people who watch these videos (I'm not typical). WHAT IS WITH 'LOWERING' CARS... surely any normal person would want more ground clearance? This literally makes me wonder if i am in an alternate universe, where roads are flat and prepubescent children design cars?
@@TheChipmunk2008 lowering the car makes for better feel and stiffer suspension for less roll around corners, and also the lower centre of gravity helps with corner too as the mass of the car is closer too the ground ... its weird to explain :)
Hi, If you`re in London, and probably other large towns, as far as I know all helicopters are either ambulances or police, as everything else i.e. private flights, were banned by the CAA on safety grounds in the `90`s. Glad to see you untinting your lights, but you put that acetone soaked cloth, and the bottle, on the paintwork! Maybe they were looking for crimes against Mondeos!
Bluefin are one use only as they code to that car , but you can pay to have it reset .......or that's how they used to work. Bluefin never took a remap to the limit and were realy nice safe maps
Great video mate i don't think the bluefin will work it's coded to the original car, unless it's already been wiped for superchips. Still having it is cheaper then buying it direct now, I think it's £250 For a map if you already have the bluefin unit.
Lol when you fit the cigarette socket thing you slot the plastic insert in first then the metal bit slots inside the plastic bit, and do that in reverse if you’re taking it out.
the cigarette lighter socket comes out in 2 parts normally you have to remove the metal part of and pull it up and it releases the otter plastic part and it slides out lol hope I explained it right but yea can be a pain in the arse to get them out when iv done stereo installs and needed ignition live on some cars we have used the power to the socket so had to remove them often . keep up the good work man !
