- The dog, whose name was Bruiser, ended up attacking anyone who came to help. In the end, five people were injured, including his owner. That's when Ernie Haygood got his gun.

I had a dog try and get at me through a fence once when I was a kid. Didn't know he was there and leaned up against it. @Danny I can appreciate your feeling that way and under the right circumstances I'm sure the safety of others would not come into play, such as on a property away from the general pop or in a no children family with little contact with the outside world. However, that is far less likely to happen than people just having them regardless of the safety issue, which is really why we see so many attacks and bites.
