I've watched almost all of these great videos and really enjoy Francis's helpful laid back style. I've leant a lot about bass traps, reflective angles, speaker position, engineer's position and the basics of sound physics. Clearly the guys who have been rescued are very happy with the improvement in their mixes so why an obsession with "analysis software" when your ear tells you whether you like the mix or not. Thanks Francis, Vicoustics and Rode for a great series!!
why are they not using some analysis software and showing before/after? This seems more like an add for Rode, than actual understanding and fixing. Better than not doing it- but still kinda cheap.
I don't understand the hate...KRK are a VERY reputable brand that specialise in studio monitors and their variety of speakers vary from entry level to pro studio.
I do enjoy these and I think this dude is a decent guy, I see no reason to hate...but it is getting a little redundant. I really wish they would go more in depth because I think the possibilities are there. Oh well..it's free! :)
John Jordan I understand what you are saying, but I think the point of this video series is to help beginner producers on a beginner level. Some of us are obviously more advanced.
Hi my name is David and I have been watching your chanell and I have been inspired I have allot of equipment and my space is limited being I am in my living room. Please respond and let me know what I need to do to improve my work flow. At this point it has been weeks since my last instrumental
0:05 Did, did he just place his left speaker in the corner? I don't feel like he's taking advantage of the symmetry of the room, and he's clearly not sitting in the sweet spot, the apex of an equilateral triangle. Should've put *Vicoustics* panels on the side walls to treat the angles of first reflection. I'm just joking around, I know this series follows the same exact structure every episode. And much of it is advertising, which is understandable when you're getting sponsored. But they're still fun to watch. Especially with the effort for putting in so many kitschy sound effects. Love it. :D They could've put in short before & after audio clips though, instead of just the visual/aesthetic aspect of the room though. Even if it was just something simple of an audio test or something.
Just smash some Foam Tiles on my wall gimme the Mic and enooooooouuuuuuugh with the Tape Measure, now get out my Gaff a bit lively! aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh Have it right c'mon
i agree with francis 100% i've been using NT2000 in my studio in italy for almost 8 and half years i never replaced rode nt2000 for any other mic,it's a all purpose mic with very very clean and smooth sound!! hats off for "RODE MICS"
Hi, We just Setup a New Studio.. its been 5 months now. How to Reduce the Eye Burning Sensation from New Studio. Any Solution to Reduce it ??? Please HELP HELP HELP .
these people are all trying to do there studio in there bedroom. pick me for the new season and come to Chicago Francis my studio is in a basement got a lot of good gear just need a master to set it up
yeah i know... i'm aware of that, i have some KRK VXT6s sat infront of me right now lol, i'm talking about the rokit range in particular, not all KRKs. and yeah i would agree with you, m-audio's are shit aswell, i had some a little while ago and they were terrible.
If you take a speaker box and then put it in another box. your automatically going to hear more bass and have problems with under mixing. Even with front firing bass ports.
nothing wrong witht he krk rokits at all, its a pretty decent monitor for the price, monitors is ALL krk makes so it has to be decent at least, krk has a model that even the more famous studios use, and they are better then M audio, foster auto technica, and more, they are just about standerd in the "home" studio, they have a pretty nice flat line for frequency response, anytime you see a video from a famous studio and has a speaker that has a yellow cone its prob. krk's
Most 'famous' studios don't use KRK's. There are many 'better' monitors in the price range of KRK Rokits, VXTs etc. I've never heard of Auto Technica or Fosters, i'm assuming you mean 'Audio Technica' and 'Fostex'. I wouldn't say KRKs are better than Fostex monitors. And they are DEFINITELY not better than Events. Also, just because a monitor is 'pretty big', it doesn't mean its good. KRK rokit rp8s are huge compared to my Adam A7Xs, but I can guarantee they're not 'better', so to speak.
GOOD SOU DO BRASIL TENHO UM PEQUENO ESTUDIO E MINHA SALA TECNICA E MUITO PEQUENA TO MI ACABANDO NA MIX VC PODE MI AJUDAR POSSO MADAR UM MEDIDA PRA E FOTO COMO ELA ESTA OBRIGADO ESPERO RETORNO
And whats the problem with cutting a small hole in the panel for the light-switch and woala!, you got it in the right place! amazing! other than that great stuff :)
well... just wish they wouldve reviewed the studios they were going to repair so that everyone didnt have the same damn issues. Or maybe do some kind of sound check / difference, comparison. Or give out more unique musical equipment suited for the artist, (some are slightly different) Should have stopped watching these after the first one, theres no significant change. so fuck yeah im mad i wasted my time learning the same thing over and over. Its a good idea for a show just doesnt go indepth
I'm buying a house and moving into it in May 2020. There's a TuffShed in the back that I'd like to turn into a recording studio. It's a little bigger than 9'x11' inside. I have several years of experience as a hobby-level music recordist and voice actor, but want to make this space totally professional. It would be GREAT if your Studio Rescue team would come out and make it happen. I'm in southeast Kern County, California, about an hour north of Los Angeles. We could make a super-great video together. LLAP!
“So what kind of problems are you having?”
-just give me the free treatment and mic and get out of my house
The awkwardness and cheesiness makes it so much better.
the speakers would sound like crap in those cabinets....
These Long-Form microphone ads are oddly entertaining!
Keith Lauria LOL
ITS THE SAME THING EVERYTIME
- Really Mr. Engineer? Maybe: 1 type of cool sound, and this people knows it! -
cool
DOLBEATS.COM Can I be an engineer too?
DOLBEATS.COM "1 type of cool sound and this people knows it" are you a little slow?
Nice to see what vicoustics and Rode is doing ,because of these studio rescue videos I just bought me a nice rode mic to support their company

Those cheesy sound effects.
So weird. Adds nothing, just makes the whole thing odd.
Isn’t “he angle of first reflection” for each speaker? I only see them doing one panel for that treatment.
why are they not using some analysis software and showing before/after? This seems more like an add for Rode, than actual understanding and fixing. Better than not doing it- but still kinda cheap.
What is up with the terrible sound effects?
Ironic how bad the sound is on these videos.
I want a free mic. come rescue my studio :D
were those rokit 5 or 6?
I don't understand the hate...KRK are a VERY reputable brand that specialise in studio monitors and their variety of speakers vary from entry level to pro studio.
There not to bad, of course the 8" would be better. what are you using?
does the microphone come with a wire to connect to your computer or is it through an ausio interface
Go to the store and listen to some - is the only way. Buy one that you can hear the most clarity
Thats what I have. Are they really bad? What should I get? I am in the market for some new ones. I was looking at the Yamaha HS 80M's
What absorbing foam are you using .
plus, you're audio guys and you can't mix the levels right? i have to turn my volume down when the music or effects come on it's kind of ironic
I do enjoy these and I think this dude is a decent guy, I see no reason to hate...but it is getting a little redundant. I really wish they would go more in depth because I think the possibilities are there. Oh well..it's free! :)

this one went way overboard with the fx ^^
What's wrong with KRK Rockits?

hey francis i have a couple fo questions??
so much porn scene here
where i cal buy panels and bass traps?
ok all his videos just cover the mixing areas. what about vocal booths and closets?
Yeah, cut the cheap background sound effects, they are very distracting.
Couldnt they have just cut a squre hole in the acoustic foam for the light switch?
SSOOO MMAAANNYYY SSOOOUUUNNDD EEEFFEEEXX!!!!!
I watched 11 episodes just now. They must be in California because he keeps saying "big room" and it's smaller than my closet.
What are the monitors in the introduction?
kwervo1206
event opal
always annoys me when people have corner desks in a project studio...
You camera man is my worst nightmare haha
which arguments do u have against the krk´s?
is there ever going to be a season two?????
why al the weird sounds? rode you fucked up this kind of commercial
I love your videos! Very entertaining!
I just got Deja Vu
Just smash some Foam Tiles on my wall gimme the Mic and enooooooouuuuuuugh with the Tape Measure, now get out my Gaff a bit lively! aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh Have it right c'mon

Hi, We just Setup a New Studio.. its been 5 months now.
How to Reduce the Eye Burning Sensation from New Studio. Any Solution to Reduce it ??? Please HELP HELP HELP .
Can this guy come to my apartment bro, my corners are killing me and I want a free mic.
these videos are comical, guys monitors were shooting at his legs.. kinda hard for me to believe these vids are real.
these people are all trying to do there studio in there bedroom. pick me for the new season and come to Chicago Francis my studio is in a basement got a lot of good gear just need a master to set it up

They went abit overkill on the sound effects in this episode.
I hate audio community, whenever I see someone try to help, some idiots come and start complaining
Cameron Bright lol! Welcome to RUclips.😀
That’s in everything
😂😂😂
i like how Francis waved his hand while saying 'let's go' every time they start moving around. really cool guy,
TO MUCH LOW END YOU SAY ? Hmm MAYBE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ROOTKITS ?
" studio rescue in high def and high speed"...uploaded at 480p
That big ass house in he got his studio in the master bedroom lol, dude said take a quick look around n see what you got here. Nothing lmao
He's done multiple Michaels and Steves. I'm gonna change my name and submit ;)
I absolutely bet he couldn't do a thing with my setup.
If you take a speaker box and then put it in another box. your automatically going to hear more bass and have problems with under mixing. Even with front firing bass ports.
1 more episode left and I have them all watched in a couple of hours!
The editing is awfully cheesy, it would be a lot better without any of it really. Good info though!
...why?
because he gives them a mic and portable booth..just sayin
When installing bass traps do they need to go right in the top corner of the room or mid way down the wall?
this is one of my favorite mics the rode nt2a
Great, love all the episoded i've watched them all and i want more :) shout out to Francis! He's the man

its not really to do with size. the rokits are generally just an entry level monitor. not really professional quality
come rescue my studio ...
the person you saved had the same mouse pad as me
it's not about the rokits, it's about how he set them up. like wtf?
White Carlton. Nice setup though lol
Haha at 00:39 it sounds like he´s rapping xD
I hate when he keeps saying vicousic panels constantly!
Why is every person on this show a mixer? How about just a singer or just a rapper?
I love the awkward bit of acting at the start of these videos. "Hey there, I never knew you were coming!.... bit close dude."
With that point of view no one can and will.
Exactly what I thought;)
thats like 200 bucks of treatment lol, these guys better be thankful
Y'all gotta bring this back
dude don't be a sound effects Grinch!! i think they sound cool
why??
i've just finished the 11th episode too. lol.
ive learned a lot just from Francis' speaker placing techniques
the real problem is he is using krk rokits lol
Help me out dude!!!!!
Yo solo quiero unos Monitores GGT "Gratis y Grandotes" :)
Rokits are amazing, lol.

kinda getting repetative ):
people call this guy only to get the free panel and mic :P
i don't have a studio .. but can you please make me one. ? hahaha :D
it's my dream :
