@@JohnFerraraMusic I grew up in the 60's near San Francisco and was in a garage band when I was 11. I'm one of those people who thinks that there are more and better musicians now than there were then. Call me optimistic if you like but you are proof the future of music is in many good hands.
@@hannabaal150 There are a lot of great players and groups doing all kinds of amazing things these days. You might not see them so much in the mainstream but they are there!
Thank you so much!! I spend a lot of time analyzing them and coming up with different shapes and rhythms that can flow naturally from them, it's super fun!
That was pretty ridiculous. Would be interested to see a jam with you guys & Sarah Longfield. Hopefully soon I will be able to see you guys play in person.
I recently got into bass playing a la Victor Wooten, but discovering your music recently was the connection I needed to pursue bass in my own way. This song particularly changed everything for me. I've never seen a bass used with such versatility and mix of lead/rhythm. Your mastery of techniques and music styles is deeply inspiring and makes me that much more excited to pick up the bass daily. Thank you for paving this road for me!
When I saw him for the first time I was absolutely blown away. I never miss them when they come around. In my opinion the best/most understanding bass player today.
Bass just got a whole lot more interesting! What an inspirational jam. I play guitar but saw you on a Hartke demo and wanted to know more about your finger tapping techniques. I found this video and I'm blown away. Thanks man, keep it up dude!
You are a musical angel. A star that guides all of us out here in the wake of the bass ocean . Some of us will catch a wave, some will wait on shore and applaud. Some will watch you ride the wave and wish it was us. I love you carving your way through music! You’re a star we all can learn from but I know I’m never hitting the wave like you, you are king! I watch and learn.

My God man, you got it all. You have it in your blood and Bless you, you've worked so hard, you are doing your family proud!! You make it look easy, We know it is not! Awesome! , simply Awesome!
If I were a bass player I'd probably throw it down out of depression after seeing this. I also Seth is every bit the caliber of a drummer like Gary Novak.
So on my pedal board I'm primarily using my BK7 ultra, OC3, and Earthquaker devices avalanche run and the Boss loop station for my bass itself. The organ foot pedals are custom made but essentially function as a souped up MOOG Taurus :)
Hey Danny! I'm sorry but I don't , it would be hard to explain without being in person or online but you could use the slow down function that RUclips offers haha! Or I give Skype lessons if that is of interest! Either way, if you get it down shoot me a vid, I'd love to see what you do!
So I love transcribing your solo and CTS work and just finished Thirty Tyrants, but cant for the life of me get your right hand pattern down for songs like Song for Ramida and Jackie Chan. Could you give me any pointers?
Ha you know a song is crazy when you have clear video of him playing but it's still impossible to transcribe. Do you share your transcriptions anywhere? Keep up the great work.
@@JohnFerraraMusic Oh I am very familiar with this page and your work. This video in particular somehow managed to evade me though. Unbelievable composition and performance. Thank you.
Exactly what I've been looking for. It's what's possible... the standard guitar within the bass guitar. It makes the traditional bass seem boring by comparison. Release the hounds!
Thanks ! I've always been interested in learning how to do different things on the bass rather than learn new instruments. Its helped me learn how to look at the bass in different ways! I appreciate you listening!!
❤❤❤
Freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is still crazy
This is the endgame of Bass and Drums
The future is here. I just listened to it.
haha thanks Mick! We're just trying to do what makes sense to us as players, glad you dig it!

This completely changed the way I think about tapping. So few have the patience to shape their arpeggios into proper grooves.

Dude. So glad I found Consider the Source, which in turn brought me here. These solo works are so easy to get hooked on.
Thank you so much! im so glad you ended up here! Thanks for following my work!
with music there's no rules and the right way. Beautiful music masters at work.

On Saturday, January 12, 2019 John and Seth gave a sensational concert at Museum of Modern Renaissance in Somerville. It was standing room only.
That was pretty ridiculous. Would be interested to see a jam with you guys & Sarah Longfield. Hopefully soon I will be able to see you guys play in person.
Thanks! We'd love to play with her one day!
Face melting...and I would expect no less. Thank you, John and Seth.

Thanks so much man!! We're stoked for our Jan dates, see you then!
The 9/8 feel in this one is awesome. Really gives it a feeling of urgency if that makes sense.
Yea and there's a lot of different directions that you can bring it in. Thanks for listening man!
Wish I could see you live
I tour a good portion of the year keep an eye out for "Consider the Source" tour dates!!!
This is just incredible, every second of it gave me goosebumps.

Are these actually the audio tracks from the video session? Absolutely unbelievable either way!
yes sir and thanks man!!!
I'm still here, rewatching this video, so I guess I'll also say that the drummer is a badass too. Such a great song/video!

5:50 he starts playing his guitar like a video game and it sounds like video game music... what the fuck
Checkmate Davie504
I'm making a ghetto music video by watching a compilation of Jackie Chan's old stunts in another tab
I bet Davie504 can't play this
agreed "checkmate"
