I just got my Dark Star mascara today and I am in love with it. It covers so well yet feel so light and not crunchy on the lashes. Home run for me! Side note: I do have the Urban Decay Lash Freak coming as well. The brush on it intrigued me so I’ll be trying that as well. However Dark Star has my heart right now!

I found that I didn’t like the original, it just ran all down my under eyes, (which I know it’s not waterproof). I’ve had the dark star on all day today and it’s been great, no running at all. Great video, wasn’t aware of the ml difference x

This is the second day I’ve worn the dark star and I love it. My natural lashes are very long and thick and this mascara truly makes it look like I’m wearing false lashes. I just have to be careful when applying it to the lower lashes. I wore it to work yesterday so I had it on around 16 hours and it didn’t smudge or flake.
Dark star wins. I put on DR2 (over ABH primer) and Fetish Eyes this morning, and i went in the pool after supper, playing frisbee with my husband and our large poodle; swimming, catching and throwing the frisbee, getting splashed by the dog jumping from the edge of the pool, and basically spending a lot of time wiping water off my face. After more than an hour in the pool, i was sure i would have raccoon eyes. But lo and behold! My eye shadow is still quite visible, admittedly less shimmery and less intense, but my mascara has not even budged! So if dark star is better than fetish eyes, it will be my new HG. That’s quite an endorsement for PML shadows and mascara because the rest of my makeup has dissolved in the pool. Thank you for the comparison.

Looking gorge as usual, I wasn’t that impressed with her first mascara, the lash fetish one. By the looks of it, the new one could possibly be a good one and I’m currently awaiting it in the post from her own website. Hopefully it will arrive this week if lucky.xx

Sadly, as a fully fledged member of the oily eyelid gang, I won't be investing in Pat's as I hear they transfer (Joanna Spicer's latest vid ruled them out for me). One of my friends kept demanding I use her crappy mascara. I have long lashes. On the daily. I wear one coat. Double curl. Before and after. So... I went ahead and did my lashes. She claimed I had fake lashes on. Haha. Nope. Just a few coats of my mascara... Chanel volume works just fine. I’ve used Chanel since I was 19. Always go back to it. She has short curly lashes. Huge difference in our lashes. So no matter the mascara. I need a few coats. To give the blown out lash look. Which I’m not into every day.
You really have great lashes! The new mascara is giving you lashes for days. I have skimpy lashes so I get lash extensions...if I decide to remove my extensions this would be one I would try! Edit: on your bottom lashes I liked the Fetish Eyes better. It was good separation and gives you a “doll eye” look, which I love. Honestly, I think both your eyes look amazing.

Thanks for the comparison! I agree with you that the dark star looks more black and certainly gives more volume on your lashes. From the look of it the dark star both wand wise and volume wise remind me a lot of the L’Oréal lash paradise mascara, that also has that super thick brush if I remember correctly? If you don’t mind me asking, but how does it fade during the day? What would happen if you rub your eyes? I mean some mascaras become a smudgy mess when rubbed, while others more crumble off in small bits and pieces depending on the formula. For me who have runny eyes, I tend to prefer the latter as most mascaras will loose their grip on my outer corners and it is easier to fix and maintain throughout the day if they do not loosen up in a smudgy way, but rather by crumbling if that makes any sense... Hence my perhaps a bit weird question...
I'm not sure I'm afraid! I wouldn't rub my eyes when I'm wearing makeup, but i did go to the park on a windy day when i filmed this and my eyes were STREAMING and nothing bad happened lol. I just dabbed my undereye area and neither smudged or flaked X

I tried to recreate it with my Love palette from ND but no .. didn’t come out like this at all l0l I ended up doing a burgundy liner with the lightest pink from the palette all over my lid and some matte brown in the crease .. came out pretty nice though ~ I need that Pat McGrath divine palette 😢

The person who felt your impressions were negated because you have great lashes........probably only has two eyelashes on each eye! Fret not😁 Yesterday on Instagram, when you mentioned trypophobia, I had to go look it up. Once I saw photos of the type of patterns that are disturbing, it made me wonder.....Does the packaging of the Carli Bybel palette act as trigger? I remember people saying when it launched that they couldn't look at it. I never understood. If I'm being too nosy, just tell me to shut up!😔 See you soon! ❤😚

Back in the day my sister use to apply her mascara then take a huge sewing needle to separate them. I did it a few times but stopped out of fear. We both were born with long, thick, curly black lashes so we didn't need a lot of mascara but I will say. As dangerous as it was for her to do that her lashes looked amazing. They didn't look spider-y. They had that soft feathery look to them but the amount of time she took doing her lashes? 🤦♀️

The most beautiful result - for my taste - was two coatings of the new mascara.
