I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

I’m like you, I love mascara!My favorite is the Hourglass caution mascara right now. I was using PML Fetish eyes, but I have oily eyes and found it would be on my eyes lids where the mascara touched later in the day. I think I will give that MAC stack a try, you’ve convinced me! Thanks Charlotte ❤️

My number 1 is Nars extreme climax mascara I really love the Mac stack as well, the CT and PML are also great and the Chanel Volume one 💕 more is more is more is right. For my lower lashes I finish off with Mac gigablack 💕 great video Charlotte 😘

My favorite I’ve tried is the Chantecaille Faux Cils mascara. I am shocked how long lasting it is, no flaking, no budging, and doesn’t dry out, has great full look and separation. I also find with other mascaras that I have to wipe off excess with a cloth before applying but with this wand any excess I can easily brush back in the tube to use later. It’s worth trying out!
I am really surprised that the one from Rare Beauty was not on this list. I hear so many good things about it. Thanks for sharing.
CT Pillow Talk Mascara is the only mascara that I’ve ever had smudging problems with. But it is beautiful on first application!

So I decided to purchase the new Mac mascara after watching your review. I’m very excited to try it out. I tried the Charlotte Tilbury but it didn’t work on my lashes. I love love my Lancôme Hypnose Volumizing mascara. I think you may really need to try it out. I have big lashes just like you and it doesn’t disappoint. Give it a try in the future I really think you will like it…

I am going to try the CT mascara, but I LOVE the Mac Stack. I normally use Wayne Goss waterproof which I also love. Well worth a try even though you are not as keen on waterproof mascaras

Rare Beauty for me! Hands down nothing beats it. I bought the new Mac mascara with the bigger brush but nah! I’m not a fan of the hard plastic/silicone brushes and I found it clumpy. Nice to hear your ratings though thanks

I seem to have a good experience with hour glass shaped bristle wands over other shapes so my favs are Anastasia Lash Brag (great volume), Better than Sex and Pat McGrath Dark Star but I also love the Charlotte Tilbury one even with such a different wand along with Mac Gigabyte black for bottom lashes. 😊
Better than sex and Dark star both look SO good but flake everywhere on me 😭

we share the exact same passion for mascara. i never wore makeup other than mascara and lipstick/gloss. that’s allllll i wore because i have naturally long and full lashes, and even my surgeons and nurses thought i had lash extensions, but they were just my natural lashes. the bite beauty mascara is absolutely amazing. i was given two deluxe samples of the mac stack mascara to try out prior to its release and I AM OBSESSED!!! i’ve seen so many polarizing reviews of it, but i adore it. i’ve yet to try the PML or CT mascaras but i’ll have to give them a try.

I recommend you to check an Italian mascara. The brand is Mesauda (they work so well! Similarly to Mac) and the mascara is called big and thick. I’m obsessed and I’m sure you’d love it!
I will say one thing..AGREED!!! Pillowtalk is the best mascara I have ever tried also.
I absolutely love your number 3 choice. It doesn't feel heavy on my lashes. Which is an odd thing to say I know. It's also fun to pull faces in the packaging..or maybe that's just me.

My fav is definitely Charlotte Tilbery 's Legendary Lashes 2. I honestly think you would love it. It's amazing in its own but paired with Loreal lash primer it's the bees knees of bees knees 😀

I don't know how you managed to choose only five. Omg I love mascara. I haven't skipped a day wearing it since I discovered her when I was 13. She is my best friend.
I love the PML dark star, I've got a sample of the CT push up lashes just not tried it yet, i love the Nars climax extreme, I've got the Bite beauty and Rare Beauty mascara coming to me and i really want to try the Mac stack. Mascara was the first bit of makeup that i started wearing when i was in my late teens

I need to try that new one from MAC! My fav is the Essence Lash Princess, it got me off my "2 mascaras" of Definicils & Grandiose that I used to combine together and that was kinda pricey actually lol but for $5 usd, I have not found a better performing mascara that doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, and works well doesn't flake or smudge and is not too exp - the false effect lash princess in the aqua/green tube is my ride-or-die now :)
I used to use the Lash Princess mascara for years and am now in love with the MAC Stack!

I bought the Mac Stack Mascara the week before last and tested it heavily during dinners, mingles and parties thursday-saturday. My mascaras needs to be non irritating, ophtalmologist tested, safe for contact lens wearers, so I’ve only used tube mascaras for the last five years or so. I love this! Doesn’t irritate my dry eyes or leave me with panda eyes when I use my eye drops. It smudges a wee bit, slightly below the brow bone, but not much. (I usually don’t prime and set that high on my hooded lids, maybe I should test that.)

I love the dark star and pillow talk. I’m also really liking the mascara from Rare Beauty. That said, I really want to try out the Dior Overcurl. I haven’t tried a Dior mascara in ages, but have heard positive things lately, so I want to check it out.
Did nothing for me 😳 I am ok with majority of mascaras I tried but that one and shiseido newest one are like I am adding nothing to my lashes.

Love the Dior Overcurl - no smudging (use the primer first!) and the curl (initially from an eyelash curler) stays all day.

Did you ever try the "Sweed-lash lift" mascara? I think you'll like it. The wand is VERY different (just a comb). I really love the CT, but I find the Sweed-lashes one even blacker 😳.

@@farah-lf8eb Hi Farah! The Sweed gives more volume! And black is black, but I would say the Sweed is blacker 😉. But you have to get used to the wand. As I said, it's different! I just ordered my 4th Sweed mascara. Love it!! Hope this helps. Greetings Sabine

My absolute "holy grail" mascara and it has been for years is the Chantecaille Faux Cils longest Lash, nothing has been able to knock it off my top!! It is a little expensive but absolutely worth every penny! Since you are a mascara lover if you can get it in the UK it is worth trying!! Thank you so much for sharing yours with us and I will try the CT because I have heard a lot of content creators love it!!
I agree 100% with this list. Have you tried Honest Beauty Mascara? It's my third favorite. Pillow talk push up, then Also Charlotte Tilbury Legendary lashes vol2. So good

I bought the MAC Stack Micro as I figured it would be easier for the lower lashes and can build up the top lashes. It's nice but I don't love it. I also have the CT Push Up but I think I need lessons in using the wand. Also bought Monsieur Big but haven't used it yet. I always seem to get a bit of a panda effect under the lower lashes by the end of the day but I think that might have more to do with my undereye skin, concealer not being set perhaps.
Hello, thanks for the work ! I am on a mascara no buy until i use up my million samples so i don’t really have a favorite mascara, but i found a fabulous mascara « top coat » in the thrive one. Basically, i use any mascara first for volume and finish with the thrive. It gives lenght and renders anything underneath budge-proof.
I will certainly try your favorite when i am through with my samples ( somewhere around 2025)...😂

How is the longevity of these? I find that the pat McGrath mascaras flake very easily. I really like the longevity of the Rare Beauty and Caliray mascaras 🙂

So just ran out of my Mac mascara that make my shirt fine lashes become something amazing that I’ve never had. Cult beauty don’t stock mac, and was doing a haul. So got the Pat McGrath dark star as the CT one smudges on me. It’s nice but on cult beauty, they have there goodie bags again if you spend over a certain amount. part of it was the sweed cloud mascara! And OMG! It’s good! Have you tried it? Since your the queen of mascaras?
Hello Charlotte! Do you know if the Charlotte Tilbury mascara also curls the lashes? I've been using the Diorshow Iconic for years, but it's no longer available anywhere. So I need a new high-end mascara that does just that: curling lashes. :) Greets from Germany!
My HG now is Pat McGrath Dark Star. Don’t like the Charlotte Tilbury. Did try it after your review. I guess mascara is really subjective.

For years I had this idea of a mascara that's the antithesis of your favourite type.
Something called 'Lash Gloss', which just darkens the lashes and make them look like healthiest they ever were.
I think it would sell when the time is right.
Maybe to grab the buyers who want fat lashes, I could market it as a primer? To make your lashes glossy, healthy and primed for heavy duty?

I have a terrible time with smudging and transfer too, the CT pillowtalk smudged dreadfully in a matter of minutes on me. It was usuable if I layered a waterproof over the top.
But I struggle even with supposedly waterproof formulas smudging and flaking! At least it's available in a travel size to try though 🙂
My favorites are Lancome Lash Idole and Tarte Tartiest Lash Paint!!!!

Once I tried the Thrive cosmetics mascara I threw all my others away! I have tried them all!
I am really sensitive to the smell of Mac Stack mascara. It's a sour chemical smell that smells stronger as the day wears on. Estee Lauder mascaras have that smell too, but both companies are owned by the same owner, that must be why. I'd like to try the CT mascara now.
This macstack mascara is confusing to me. Every time I wear it I end up with a dark smudge under my bottom lashes near the outside corner of my eye despite only wearing this mascara on my top lashes. When I was in the mall I walked past a Mac store and there was a poster for this mascara and the model had the same black smudge. Do you get this? Is this a look?

I think I told you before, but have you tried Dior Blackout mascara? I'm not sure if it is because of it is very black, but I find it leaves my lashes stunning. I'd love to know your views on it (if possible, of course) xxx

I love the way you say mascara! Also -- when applying, I always get mascara on the top eyelid (I'm guessing from the brush touching lid thru the lashes when I'm coating the base). Any suggestions anyone on how to stop this while still coating the base of lashes? I hope that makes sense.
That happens every time i do mine, very hard to avoid, but if you leave it for a few minutes to dry it buffs off very easily and gently with a Q tip! x

Yes, yes, I've tried all the great ones you've mentioned (except the Mac) and my pathetic lashes don't look any different.
My only concern about a mascara is - how easy is it to remove?
It has to remove very easily - I can't afford to lose even one lash due to a little extra massaging to remove said mascara.

I am still looking for my favourite mascara. It needs to be brown. Nothing too heavy, no extra volume just make my lashes a little more visible but keeping it natural. My eyes tend to water - allergies, wind, sun, screen time, so needs to stay put too. Currently using a Sisley one, which is ok. But still looking for ideas.
I used to use Benefit Roller lash in brown. It sounds like your description also great for curl without curlers. Not sure if they still sell it on brown
You should try the Victoria Beckham mascara. It has a great wand, small enough to reach all lashes and is on the natural side. You can build it up if you want more drama. The formula is clean which is gentle on sensitive eyes. One of my favorite everyday formulas. The Gucci mascara is beautiful as well.

I find all of them flake on me, I get watery eyes staring at screens all day. I unfortunately am someone who needs a waterproof mascara or I will become Alice Cooper. I use La Roche Posay Respectissime but it doesn't give any volume though I like Chanel Inimitable Mascara the best but it is an awful bugger to get off. I do really like CT one but after a few hours it will flake in me but I love the effect.

Have you tried using a non waterproof for the effect with a couple of strokes of waterproof after? I have seen this tip a couple of before but haven’t tried it myself. Also I think Huda do a waterproof top coat.. it doesn’t do anything apart from waterproof your fave non waterproof .

Real question here, how many coats makes it 1 coat? To me, its literally applying the product on my lashes making 2 movements, thats it. But your video make me question everything😅😂
