Interview of Céline Dion in company of manager René Angélil for her 1st English album "Unison" as reached # 1 in Québec 3 weeks after it's release. They are giving their impression on this and they are discussing the plans to conquer the english market. If they only knew... Aside, it's a fun moment to see Céline not being at ease with her manager sitting on her side while the interview. It was rare at the time that René was interviewed along with Céline.

Love how nervous Rene was every time Celine touched him, especially when she touched his hand and he pulled it back (5:45). He kept his hand pulled back after that for almost a minute before he relaxed again. Then she kept touching his leg in laughter. At the time this was filmed they were in love but had not made it public. Looking back at it now you can see how hard it must have been for them to keep there distance in public.

aaronlaura04 Much more difficult for Celine as we know what the future held for them. Very hard to hide your love for someone when you are bursting inside. Not being able to shout to the world that you are in love and can only cry about it when interviewed must have been torture for this sensitive and emotional Celine. The look in her eyes, gave it away that Rene was her love.
yes, you can interpret it this way; but in other cultures it is ok to touch person you're friends / colleagues with. there's no sexual connotation in such type of touch.

Wow ils avaient l'art de l'esquive à cette époque. On sent bien le lien entre-eux deux, mais c'était pas encore officiel. Ça jonglait beaucoup ces temps ci lol. They had an affair prior to that time but they hid it well, that's why you can sense his tension. Rene said he was afraid of how the public will digest this huge age difference. He truly loved her, yet she is almost his daughter's age.

This must be before he got sick he looks healthy.
He wasn’t healthy tho. He was harboring the sexually transmitted HPV virus 🦠 in his body from his past sexual life with all the groupies/random women and ex’s he had been with. The HPV virus (oral sex) is why he got neck cancer years later. He probably didn’t know he had the virus till the cancer diagnosis. His doctor would have discussed that with him.
Actor Michael Douglas got the same cancer and he made a public admission that he got it from oral sex from years of promiscuity. His wife was so angry at him for telling the world that that she almost divorced him. Rene had way to much baggage of all kinds for teenage virgin Celine. Talk about majorly mismatched.
ayoooyeee....cest la première fois que je vois René couper la parole à Céline!!!!...le nervosité le rend verbomoteur!!!!.....il avait surement peur que Céline parle trop!!!!!
Il faut dire aussi que René était une personne très discret. Il ne voulait pas qu'on parle de son amour avec Céline. Donc elle a passé les 5 premières années de leurs amours à l'abri des médias, ce n'est qu'avec la sortie du 3e album anglophone (the Colour of My Love), qu'elle dévoile publiquement son amour et la réception a été plutôt bonne, ce qui a étonné René (qui s'attendait à un tollé, vu qu'il y avait 26 ans d'écarts entre les deux)
