For Dunkerque: Advantages: nice mobility, really fast shells and nice penetration, quick turrent rotation, long shot range, tanky in someway. Disadvantage: bad dispersion, bad dispersion, bad dispersion, bad dispersion (x 1000 times)
Yep it a fantastic ship when you stop trying to be a bow tanker and use you speed to control engagements but it dose feel like cv food since the rework at times
Im a shit player and I do well in the dunkerque.... I cant imagine why folks dont like it.. I just wish that it had a speed boost like the richelau hss.
@@JackG79 speed boost would fit in with the line but not sure if the lower tiers get access to it I think it is only t8+ she needs better aa , I think she gets a hard time as most play her wrong and that the guns are inconsistent but what I have learned to do is to shoot angled targets with AP which dose not work with other bbs but with this one due to the high pen you can land some really big hits and over pen far less
as a top Dunk-King player, what you said is spot on. The Dunk-King is a great ship, even if it can get 15" and 16" lol' penned. She's still an incredibly versatile and amazing support ship when you're bottom tier, and a top-tier predator. I took my Dunk out when I wanted to relax and literally just point and click and pretty much half-ass it. 50 battles, 80% w/r, almost 70k average damage (because I always shoot the DDs first!)
@@packr72 I like both. Omaha is a great cruiser chaser with 6 forward guns, 6 rear, and 8 broadside. I like the Pensacola too, because 10 203mm's don't lie, and 5 forward is no joke. But yeah, they're basically floating powder kegs complete with box of strike-anywhere matches.
Omaha is solid for HE spam at range, but has a huge citadel. it has good AP vs broadside cruisers up close and decent short range torps. cola has very strong AP which can annihilate cruisers from almost any angle and can use all guns while being very angled. both of those are very hard for cruisers to kill when angled, and reasonably difficult for BBs to kill when properly angled, keeping enough distance and maneuvering properly. u can also slow down AND turn to avoid enemy fire. i personally use incoming fire alert on my cruisers to help me always dodge in time.
At least you got a super container. I can't remember that last time I got a super container from daily. And the ones I get from special missions gone me ordinary flags... Never got any ships or premium times from super containers...
In my view, the Dunkerque is actually one of the most enjoyable Tier 6 battleships. It does pretty well unless uptiered to Tier 8, it has very nice fire chance on HE, decent AP pen, solid maneuverability, quite good speed, passable AA, good firing angles (if you aren’t running away), and just looks great overall. Generally an excellent battlecruiser.
I can remember I shot ap to a full broadside conqueror 9 or 10 km away in a monarch and all shells shattered..... After that game I skipped to lion with free xp
Your first mistake was firing AP in a british BB. AP should only be used inside 7km by British BB's and on weakspots otherwise always fire HE. LION is an amazing ship. You can from the KGV onwards consistently do 5k to 8k dmg per salvo - nevermind the fires, and you should be knocking out 2-3 AA / Secondary Mounts per salvo. As a support BB paired with say a good AP BB you can wreck face all day long.
The ship is garbage but I absolutely refuse to waste FXP on a tech tree ship. I have better luck with her in ranked where the map isn't so damn crowded with ships. Doesn't mean I have good luck with her but it's not quite as awful as ranked.
@@omegabulldog5001 who freakin uses AP in a Nelson against anything other than a broadside cruiser? I LOVE my Nelson, I spam HE from those big guns every match and do consistently great damage with it. The zombie heal is the icing on the cake for me.
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 it's a damned bb and therefore we expect it to perform like a bb, i.e tough as nail, slow as shit flowing down hill and slinging AP like it's the only ammo allowed!🤣🤣🤣
6:03 i just got this from one of those "play this many battles and get this bundle" thingies. I was going more for the coal reward, but never having played a French BB, I might wanna try it.
Whenever I see or hear someone talking about the Mikasa, I always think of this one Daniel Russev clip where when 1v1 brawls were a thing, he got another Mikasa queued against him, and they were both so surprised and it was pretty funny
The Emerald is really made of paper. Always when I play down at T5 I first look if there are any Emeralds around and thay get for them first. I cannot count the times anymore when I one shot killed a broadside Emerald.
No doubt it is made of paper but so is Omaha, so is Pensacola and don't even get me started on Emile Bertin. Emerald has two things that make it better than all of those ships in my book. It has a heal and it has smoke (at a tier where it is unlikely to see radar no less). If people can't do well with Emerald they aren't playing it correctly IMO. You treat it like an oversized destroyer. The moment you get detected you kite away laying smoke if you have to and do your best to lay down torps or gunfire on whatever DD detected you. If it wasn't a DD than you still kite away and lay smoke if you have to and try to set yourself up for a torpedo ambush with assist from your guns. It was without a doubt one of the easiest tier 5 cruiser grinds in the game for me.
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 Sure. But most Emerald players don't use this tactic. They are carelessly offering there broadsides. And a heal is no use if you get oneshotted.
Emerald on 1st? Really? I actually like her, had a game today we lost but still had more XP than the best enemy. If you play her like a heavy DD, it can be very effective... My worst, or most frustating, so far is still Colorado: big target, slow af, well, her guns hit hard, but you have to make your gunners drunk to make them hit anything and its a long XP-way to NC. But atm I grind Normandy and she is total shit, cause the guns force you to broadside or you waste most firepower.
The Prinz Eitel Friedrich is one of my favorite ships. The Guns pack a Punch. The armor is good and you have a fast ship with 7,6 km secundaries. I am not afraid brawling against even t8 bbs and a lot of t7 bbs have been killed with this Thing in a 1vs 1
Seen a few players using PEF in Op Aegis and they did good some did poorly because they didn't have the torpedo beats on. I used Graf Spee and wrecked house most of the time. One of the BBs that approaches from the North I killed at a range of 16km the shells really love to citadel cruisers even Ishzuchi I can citadel at that range . Got Graf Spee for free out of a super container and went from less than a million credits to over 10 million in a week. Not even going to go near Op Newport because I feel that one is broken.
I love the Dunk, I just don't think people know how to play it. You have to angle it properly and know when to switch ammo type. It's reload time, shell velocity and speed make up for it's shortcomings in my opinion.
Yeah I think the German gun dispersion is complete BS because German guns tended to be pretty accurate in real life its sad that they hit the entire German BB line with the Nerf Bat and so hard and calling it balancing is also BS. Firing just to see shell fired by the same turret landing 1 km apart in some cases is infuriating.
I approve this. Got excited after seeing Denarmo's video, then only for bitter taste. This god forsaken BB. I played Bayern for comparison and she was 200% better.
I agree on everything except gz what I figured out is to play it hyper aggressively and make sure your team supports you if done right you can combine secondarys and ap bombs for a nasty wombo combo
Monarch: I wouldn't say the Monarch has hp issues that make it bad. What I think is kinda painful is the combination of low speed and low range. HP pool and bad rear turret angle are just adding to it. I feel like most of the issues Monarch has come from being a straight port from KGV at T7, so you get T7 range, hp and speed. I consider Monarch still a competitive ship though, given it's got great concealment and an insane dpm on both HE and AP. while you call the AP bad, the AP rounds do have barely worse performance than Bismarck's and are pretty adequate for T8. They aren't some T8 equivalent of PEF, where you are so far behind anyone else that it truely is noticeable. Accuracy on Monarch also surpasses the Bismarck and Richelieu. With proper positioning to avoid getting left behind, the Monarch was a very great ship to play for me and certainly no joke, as top tier you can absolutely decimate lower tier ships which you outspot and bottom tier you are still the best dpm support for the bigger ships. With buffs, the ship will get a bit less idiot-proof with the citadel being at the waterline, but the increased accuracy and ridiculous repair power should make it an even more solid-performing ship (stat-wise, it already is doing well). Krasny Krim: Lulzily enough, it is not a completely terrible ship. It certainly is better than Omaha or Emerald. KK just is terrible without captain skills, as you need AFT, CE, BFT and IFHE to get anywhere. The armour is not that bad. KK is one of the two cruisers that cannot be bow-citadelled by BBs of T5 (other is Emerald, btw. Both eat regular pens though). KK's torps, while not useful often, can be useful when someone is in range. Dunkerque: Justified, even if it is fun. The Dunkerque just has bad armour (you can as well bow-tank in any other ship, just with less guns, so you need to wiggle, but other ships are often far less prone to getting overmatched) and the guns are a terrible combination of high pen, small caliber, low gun count and terrible accuracy. Most other ships at the tier are just more consistent. PEF: Piece of garbage. Omaha: 10 mm bow plating. Gets overmatched by 152 mm guns. Emerald: 25 mm citadel deck which is the top deck. People with IFHE will citadel Emerald without even trying to (which is why I consider it worse than Omaha, as most people will not know that they can just delete Omaha with cruiser AP). Also, the guns are so bad in their pen. You see it in your video, trying to shoot a Kaiser, most shots don't do anything at 10 km range even. From Leander on, the guns at least get decent.
Really hated the Monarch at first but I've gotten my avg damage to about 76K. Most all battles with my Tier VIIIs end up fighting IXs and Xs, and sometimes it's just futile (especially if your team folds like tissue leaving you flanked), but as a support vessel, and you positioned wisely, I've noticed I can wreak some hell. I really have to figure out the British heal system better, and it does get really upsetting when you hit higher tier cruisers and do nearly nothing while they shred you.
Map tactics videos? Lot of other CCs have refused to do them, but some general tips on good places to fight from, which caps are easiest to hit first, etc in the most regularly rotated maps might help.
Nice follow up vid, very much enjoyed it. Emerald definitely deserves the top (bottom?) spot. The guns suck as well, at times I was convinced it was firing blanks because of how little damage it does. Was an utter pile of misery.
You aren't playing her right. Emerald is a boat that thrives when you use her torpedoes as the primary weapon and her guns as the back up weapon. She is an ambush predator with smoke to help conceal her and a heal to help her run away. Omaha is garbage by comparison with crap concealment and no way to hide once you have to start shooting. And Leander was a blast to play. I got SOOOO SOOO SOOO many citadels on other cruisers with that ship, and her torps are great against battleships. I was kinda sad to XP out of her until I got my Fiji and realized how great she is.
@@bc175 that's how I think of Emerald, she is a big destroyer with a citadel. Like all the British cruisers if used right she's a monster but get caught out of position and you'll die very very quickly
If I might offer an opinion, 10. I didn't have much fun with the Monarch either. I hate the AP on British BBs - it seems to bounce with even the least angle. Dispersion also isn't great. 9. The Krasny is a fun ship - not objectively the best, but fun. Yes, she's fragile, but that's the cruiser life at T5. She's best used in a wolfpack as an HE machine. Just don't sail out if you know big guns are waiting for you. 8. Dunkerque's dispersion is hideous. Other than that, she's fine if you pay attention to the armor and realize what can overmatch you, which is something all captains should be doing. The ship is fast, agile, and a good anti-cruiser scrapper. 7. The Eitel was a pretty painful grind in its steel campaign. She has wildly inconsistent guns and will get chunked easily by other BBs. She is fast, however, and the AA isn't bad for T6. I found it took some luck to have any sort of decent match with her. 6. The Omaha is not bad at all - she's like a training ship where you learn how to play light cruisers in general: use cover to move around, and don't get seen by BBs. She has solid firepower, especially against DDs, and the ballistics mean BBs aren't safe in cover. 5. While she is hindered by speed, especially when tiered up, the New York has reasonable dispersion for her tier and a rugged armor profile, as long as you don't get greedy trying to get all turrets firing. She can play as a brawler or at standoff range depending on the need. 4. The Mikasa is only bad if you try to play her like a higher-tier BB. She's designed for one thing: abusing her health pool to push caps. If any ship gets a little too close, those secondaries are 152 mm, and they work like a chainsaw. Also, accuracy aside, getting blapped by her HE in a low-tier crusier is agony. 3. There's no point in using the Gascogne's main battery - the dispersion is hopeless. Just give her a full secondary build, use the speed boost to get close quickly, and watch the fires stack up. Play her like you don't give a fudge, and have fun. 2. It's hard to use the Graf's torps, but her selling point is the AP bombs. Her planes are still speedy, and she can really ruin a cruiser's day in a heartbeat. I don't find her any worse off than other T8 CVs - she may be better. 1. The Emerald isn't any worse on armor than other British CLs. Use your smoke wisely and play her as an ambush predator - don't get into slugfests with other cruisers unless you've gotten the drop on them. As with any light cruiser, don't get seen by BBs.
I had an argument with someone in the forums about the Monarch and he was saying how it has a better heal and better survivability than all of the other tier 8 BBs in the tech tree.... I whole heartly disagreed.... It got the raised citadel and nerfed concealment.... While it's good concealment is great and all, it's rare you can sneak up on anything and even when you're that close the guns are so unreliable it's untrue! And as for it being a flame thrower....it's has the same fire chance as the Bismarck and a couple of other tier 8 BBs... I'd gladly trade reload time for accuracy on that guy....it's an issue that I feel KGV doesn't really suffer with that as much. Also I find it rather funny that KGV was actually the 2nd most armoured battleship during world war 2 (second only to Yamato but that was only because it's belt armour was sloped) And yet KGV and Monarch are so incredibly squishy.... "Historical accuracy" I mean you've only got to look at the entire Russian BB line to see how "historically accurate" it is...lol
Agree with most of your findings with the exception of T6 Eidle Friedrick. If you like MOTW farmers, this and the normandy are the best at T6 Missions. PEF is one of the fastest BBs in its class and with a secondary Bmark, FDG or KF commanders, can push its secondaries out to 7.5kms that do real work on DDs, Cruisers and BBs. It and the Normandy are the go to BB XF farmers.
weird, people just seem to not understand that in a cruiser, you are not meant to get hit. I did good in the Omaha, and even better in the Emerald if we go by kills or damage per battle. And the Emerald is still my record holding ship for enemies destroyed in a single battle (it were 6).
The tier 5 cruiser Omaha. I ranked out in Ranked Sprint playing only the Omaha, except for one game I played in a battleship and I usually had the high XP score or second high XP score in most of the games I played. It's as good as any other tier five cruiser when it's top tier in randoms. You just have to know how to use it properly. However, when the Omaha is up-tiered, even against tier 6 ships, it's no fun at all, and going up against tier 7 can be a nightmare experience. The New York; like a lot of early introduced ships, has been power creeped terribly.
What about Graf Spee? I can hardly make it work. It lacks firepower and accuracy to fight cruisers beyond 10 km, and lacks penetration to seriously harm battleships. DDs can basically shrug of your shots for a good while, though can't do much to you either. For me it's basically up to my luck to get close enough to enemy cruisers to citadel-stomp them, otherwise I am toast from HE. One good thing about it is that it depends much less on the tier of the battle, your task remains the same each time.
The Graf Spee has very high survivability as a result of the high number of hitpoints and the good armor. This survivability can give your Team an Advantage in battle. The 6 Sharnhorst guns do well with ap against Cruisers and broadside bbs. Everythig else is he. you are a Cruiser Killer that can take some hits. The Spee works best at close range or mid range. She is not made for Long range Shooting like a molotov
I use mine in teir 6 ops and it does fairly well if you can managed to get the sides of the ai ships and be lucky that they are not firing at you. The ai seems to lack gun dispersion.
I like the Krasny Krim very much. Probably the most underrated ship, because most don't know how to play it. Yes, you cannot expect high damage numbers in a match, unless you get lucky with a yolo run using the torps. That makes you the underestimated underdog. The ship isn't that easy to kill, if angled properly. You absolutely never show broadside to anyone (at least you try). This ship has the best belt armor of all T5 cruiser, an "icebreaker" bow and a very narrow hull and citadel from front and stern. I had matches with over 2 million pot damage. You can easily maneuver between the incoming shells. Its guns are dead accurate. The shells converge on the target and you can boost the range with AFT. On broadside targets the 130mm AP shells can be devastating and with the demolition expert and signals it becomes a fire starter. Though one thing really needs a buff, the horrible and out of context concealment, compared to other cruiser and even BB around the same tier.
Fun video. It could still be fun though, playing these challenging ship. I personally did quite okay in Krasny Krym / Emerald. For Krasny you need a good captain. For Emerald, remember to stay alive, try to hunt enemy DD's or just spam out AP+torps from relative safety. Should get pass it pretty damn fast & have decent results.
I find it interesting the Emerald is so high on the list, I actually liked her a LOT more than the Omaha. At least the Emerald has a smoke screen and a heal. Omaha is just hanging out there with nothing, and a stern look will cause a citadel hit. God help you if someone on board drops a cigarette, you'll just explode on contact.
That's what I'm screaming too! I enjoyed my time in Emerald a lot more than I did my time in Omaha. There are a lot of cruisers I hate Omaha, Pensacola, Yorck, Emile Bertin. Emerald isn't on that list though.
Monarch feels like a downgrade from KGV because her only improvements over KGV are the larger gun caliber, and better stealth. The former only brings her in line with Bismarck while the latter is an universal improvement for all T8 ships. I think Monarch could be better off as an optional gun upgrade for KGV at T7 instead, kinda like 457mm guns on Conqueror. And then put Rodney at T8 as Monarch's replacement. Yes Rodney would be identical to Nelson (slow speed, vulnerable sides, etc.), but Rodney would also have access to the super heal which makes more sense than Nelson at T7 (and probably better AA kinda like Richelieu vs Jean Bart).
Players who do bad in Kawachi are the ones that sail in a straight line firing broadsides. The Kawachi is a Dreadnaught, not a Battleship. They play differently.
Surprised to see the New York on here, but then again I never played it. Used the shitload of free XP from the old recruit-a-friend to skip to the New Mexico...which I promptly rarely played and instead just stuck to the Arizona until I got the Colorado.
I gotta agree that the Graf Zeppelin is a real let down. I remember before the CV gameplay rework it was an absolute BEAST! I specifically remember getting hit by those damn AP bombers - that GZ player took me in my North Carolina from FULL HEALTH to DEAD in one flight (And no, it wasn't a detonation), earning him a Devastating Strike and a First Blood. I REALLY wanted this ship!... But go figure, they finally released it for sale only after making CV's completely unplayable. Yes, I know, some people like the new play style and I'll agree that it did need some changes, however, I personally don't enjoy the new way, it's simply not entertaining or fun in any way to me. Anyways, good video sir!
Awww! Poor Dunquerque. I've killed Sinops and other bbs with it, it's fun! On the Omaha, I never used it until I got Optimus Prime as captain, and now it's fun too! NY I got rid of, just too damn slow. Just like the Iron Duke. Thanks for the info on the Gascogne and Graf Zepplin.
Why isn’t the Wichita in this list? Possibly the biggest waste of £30 I’ve spent, could have just got the Baltimore and got the premium camo for it for less and would have been more useful...
Oh yeah, Emerald. I started playing WoWs on the British line. When I first heard someone mention paper ships I thought it was describing the British cruiser armour....
I only played co op in both, but they’re both the same ship, just at different tiers. I found Danae more enjoyable, because something about it reminded me of the Kuma, which I really like.
New York has no business being on this list. It's not great bcuz it's T5 & bcuz the T5 premiums are so good. But for a tech tree T5 it's really good ship.
The only thing bad about it really is the speed, if you get uptiered you have no chance to kite properly and you wont ever catch higher tiered ships that are kiting. The firepower is decent and can do ok uptiered as long as you pick your targets, and the armor works against anything thats not a battleship still(as much as armor can work against ifhe cruisers).
The main problem with the monarch is that her stats are identical to the t7 king George which makes it feel like it isnt that much of an improvement besides the armor and gun caliber so just give the monarch some more hp and a little more range(1km more would be fine) and the ship is fine.
Emerald's faults: 1: AP only and not enough guns firing them to stop DDS. 2: AP only and no way to set BBs on fire. Yes you have torpedoes, but so do the US cruisers at the same Tier. 3: Armor made of Paper Mache made of used London toilet Paper. 4: AA that is merely OK at T5 in a ship that regularly fights in T7. 5: Smokescreen smaller than Snoop Lion can make on a bad day. and last, 6: Secondaries that don't have range or punch. Emerald's Strengths: 1: Ap is good against Pensecola 2: Torpedoes are average with a good firing arc. 3: Ship is fast for its tier with solid manuverability. Verdict: Good against Cruisers, but sitting duck for anything else.
@@twotone3471 I cannot agree... 1. 6 guns is ok imo. 2. You don't have to set them on fire. Is enough to hit them for 3-6k per salvo. 3. I my opinion armor isn't that's bad. I've never get deleted. And also sometimes I could easily charge 2 enemy cruisers. 4. AA is optimal 5. It's T5. Don't expect american smoke screen :D. And 6. I think the same story... People at T5 usualy really don't care about secondaries. Especially on CA or CL. ;)
I love my Dunkerque. I think some people don't realise the benefits of getting yourself a corridor (or making one :-P) and getting close-ish to your opponents. In the right situation she is a beast
Don't under estimate some of these ships. I have a 71% win rate in the Omaha @250+ matches, with a 2.44 destruction rate. I have had 7 kills in one match and receive Krakens often. I seal club in it lol
In the right hands I've seen the Omaha become a royal thorn in our sides. Took me awhile to learn to play it. Like most ships you have to limit risks and play strategically.
@@francischambless5919 True, but the thing is that's how every ship works. A good player can be effective in pretty much any ship, omaha is no exception there.
I kinda like my P. E. Friedrich too, but meh, this is also coming from someone who never really complained about old Izumo back in the day like everyone and their mother loves to b*tch about now. I remember the Karlsruhe grind and the original single turret Furutaka grind being a whole lot worse than my Izumo grind ever was.
In reference to the P. E. Friederich, it is not a true battleship. If you look at the ship history you find it is one of the ships in the Mackensen class series of German 'battlecruisers'. Its main armament was of battleship caliber but its armor was that of a cruiser. In that respect, that's where it has difficulty in going up against actual battleships. I think it's this grey area where WG makes mistakes when they insert a ship that technically doesn't belong to the appropriate ship class. Battlecruisers were designed to outfight anything they couldn't outrun ant outrun anything they couldn't outfight. The current ship classes WoWS has is carrier, battleship, cruiser and destroyer. The solution would be to create a new ship class and adjust the current tech tree of each country but that in itself would throw a massive 'monkey in the wrench' to a game already with a lot of issues.
No! Dunkerque is not a mini Richelieu, it is the other way around! Richelieu is an upscaled Dunkerque, that is the was they were designed and built IRL.
New York's main problem is simply that it's a ship that got left behind. I loved it when I played through it, and for a long time after. Then it started raining fast ships. And never let up. New DD's; New CL's; New CA's; More fast battleships. Torpedo armed fast BB's. The flood never stopped, and NY got power crept and totally left behind by the meta. Now that any semblance of historical accuracy has been unceremoniously shown the door, WG could easily fix some of it's issues.
Interesting list. Gotta say that for my part i like Dunquerque a lot (just that Normandie is probably better, but i totally agree on the The Prince formerly known as Friedrich. This ship is so frustrating. Get full broadside on a BB at 5km? Okay 0 damage salvo for you 👍
I like the Omaha though it never fails if you see one in a match it is rushing a cap full broadside to an up-tiered bb.... so yeah that will make anything seem bad.
I know a lot will disagree with me but I really do not like the Amagi BB. It gets out ranged and penetrated by everything in its tier. Its supposed to have the best dispersion but Ive yet to see that.
I got the gascogne and was pretty disappointed. I was grinding the US line at the time and when i switched from the North Carolina to the gascogne i thought i was on a different planet lol. Accuracy was pretty good and when i felt like i was doing well i would look at my damage and most games i was just above my own HP pool. I'm not that great of a player so it may be me not understanding the ship. Its a good credit maker i used it to build up enough silver to get the iowa then never really played it again
Krispy, imo, is a ship much better suited to Co-op fun, than PVP. Simply because A) the smaller teams give you more room to breathe, and fewer "There's HOW many reds aiming at me???" situations, lol. and B) it's more suited to the close up brawling meta there. I hated mine, too, at first (and I was a big fan of Svetty), but it clicked one day- and turned out to be a very nasty ship. Using the torps helps- unlike Svietlana's, these do real damage! The AP can be wicked, too, when some doof is showing too much side. Of course, I learned to love Omaha the second and third time through, too. (cruiser line split, then line reset) Stupid squishy?? Oh yes. Armed to the teeth? Oh hell yes! It's also fast and highly maneuverable. The latter traits made it a fun and profitable ship to play in Co-op. Yeah, it gets crushed easily- but it's a NASTY little shit, while it's still afloat. (kinda like Germany's tier 5 and 6 CL's)
My List of bad ships (that I've played) All British cruisers up to T6 the Leander is a breath of fresh air the Emerald sucks badly! Colorado Iron Duke Phoenix Omaha Pensacola Cleveland at T8 shes too flimsy loved her at T6 would have made a balanced T7 But it it where it is. La Glassinhere I couldn't get through quick enough hateful ship! De Grasse should have been put out to pasture or shot! I only have this because I had a super container with it in another hateful ship!. I've stopped going up the German Cruiser line at T5 because of the turret positions towards the rear) and emergency only ranged torps atm. Pan Asian destroyer unless you want a game for a laugh or have the one based on the Minakaze aren't worth it in my humble opinion.
Not sure bout the Mikasa but my first battle with her I blind fired over an island with my first salvo and detonated another Mikasa... (was before they changed the Det mecanics)
I have ground (grinded?) every nations' BB line up to tier 8. Monarch is the worst tier 8 BB, with the possible exception of Bismarck. Monarch's gimmick is her tiny detection range. You can sneak up and surprise other ships, or disappear when you need to run. Thread the needle; shoot, go undetected. repeat. This concealment gimmick doesn't matter much lately, however, with the skies full of aircraft. You can't blame New York for what happens when it gets uptiered to tier 7. All ships suck when they are maximally uptiered. One difference is that at tier 4, one only gets uptiered one tier. Tier 5 is when the two--step uptiers begin. I'm playing tiers 7 and 8 lately. Worst ships for me are Gneisenau and Bismarck. They get uptiered to the max 75% of the time to begin with, and neither has the quantity of guns to make up for the awful dispersion.
I have the PEF and actually like. I have it setup with a secondary focus, they can get out to 7.6km. You can not brawl with the same tier bb's as they will wreak you! The Dunk is so bad. That weak nose armor means u can't bow tank other bb's and everything else will just chew away ur hp with HE.
Monarch isn't a flame thrower the same way that KGV, Lion and Conq are. 35% fire chance which is the same as Bismarck and has less HE alpha than Amagi. The AP isn't that bad really but it's accuracy is wonky to say the least. The shells also don't have the typical RN flavour in terms of velocity... I think they're about 830m/s which is the fastest of any RN BB. Also it does have an improved heal. When the citadels were raised on all the RN BBs, KGV, DoY and Monarch basically had massive nerfs that they really didn't deserve... (Lion and Conq well I kind of get it but you can eat citadels from a lot of angles now so maybe it was a bit harsh) That being said, my win rate in Monarch is rather high compared to a lot of tier 8 ships I've played. I personally think that KGV, DoY and Monarch need sorting out because they've got crap armour, really exposed citadels and crap accuracy which just makes them target dummies. What should they do exactly to fix them? I've no idea really... They should be made a bit more competitive though, and so should Colorado... that's also a stinker.
I kinda liked the New York when grinding it, that was a long time ago those, before the Texas, now I think the New York sucks *because* of the Texas. It's a New York but basically better in every way so why not use the premium version I can put my good commander in
Also, there are tons of events, getting you the Texas for free quite frequently. I got it from Twitch prime, and it was the RaF reward for the new player if I remember correctly prior to Warspite and the new Container system.
I love the Dunkerque but she really deserve a buff... She need a better AA and a better armor because she is too fragile... But in the hand of a good player she can be really powerfull
New york, P.E Friedrich, Dunkerque and graf don't belong on a "worst" list. New york does decently even uptiered as long as it doesn't get kited to death, given it's useless speed. P.E Friedrich has decent AA and precise guns, making it pretty got at tier 6 as long as you don't play too aggressive. Dunkerque is insanely strong vs anything that isn't 16inch guns+ or carriers. Graf is a carrier and carriers are op at this point, purely because they can do guaranteed damage with planes dedicated to each ship type(first strike is guaranteed unless you fly into uptiered super aa cruisers).
wow, some of these are realy surprising. the krasny and friedrich carried me through the t6 ranked season in a breeze and the emerald realy made british cruisers click for me. and a second wow: i just checked and the graf spee is on neither of those top10 worst ships? wtf is wrong with you people?
What made a lot of people hate the Monarch is that Wargaming decided to use this "what if" ship instead of the obvious choice of Vangaurd for a historically accurate tech tree. Instead they decided to go with the King George V hull with "what if" 15 in gun design, which was planned by the RN but they decided to go with 14" guns. WG deciding to go the money making route. A complete wasted opportunity to have the entire WOWS community enjoy the Vangaurd (like we enjoy the North Carolina and Bismarck ) at tier 8, and now we have to grind through this atrocity called the Monarch.
Monarch is a KGV with better AP and less fire chance, period. ( It's the tag along with the team because she has no range, secondaries, or remarkable speed,). The ship has 9 15" vs 10 14", but lacks the punch you would expect. You can get good games with it but, you have to earn it.
The biggest problem with Monarch is that it is direct downgrade from the KGV. Less guns, less fire chance, and slower fire rate. For a HE spamming BB, those are crucial
Do yourself a favor and stay away from the new Kansas, Minnesota, Vermont tree if you don't like Colorado. What is annoying at tier 7 in Colorado is absolutely painful at tier 8 in Kansas and beyond.
Krasny Krim has highest range if you play with captain range skill skill and then it's a very good cruiser so every ship has its up and downsides but when I play Krasny with my chaba captain it is fun
Monach is OK. "Red Cream" can be fun but good? NEVER!!! Dunkerque is great against low tier cruisers. Other than that. Good luck! "Prince Freddy". I like her. She's not a BB. She's a battlecruiser. Go for the cruisers and she'll work fine. Omaha. Can be fun, but don't excpect to play long games. NY, slow and clumsy. But had hiting. You have to know what you want to do bc you can't change your mind once the match starts. Mikasa, Can't hit anything wit the main guns. Your 2ndarys are your best weapon but good luck geting that close to anything. "Gasy" is fun to hunt cruisers in, but agian, not good. It's a beefed up Graf Spee without the torps. Haven't played the GZ. But it's a CV so I don't like it. I liked Emerald. I played her like a DD. Worked for me.
Shipgirls in this list: • Monarch (Azur Lane) • Dunkerque (Azur Lane) • Omaha (Azur Lane) • Mikasa (Azur Lane) • Gascogne [Azur Lane (also has a Polaris Muse version)] • Graf Zeppelin [Kantai Collection, Azur Lane (also has a mini version)]
Its hit or miss with that one, I've had matches where I'm landing up to 6 shells on target consistently, and then I've had matches where they shells hit everything but the target.
Dunkerque is great. On the other hand, Okhotnik is by far the worst ship I've ever had. So bad I sold it (and I never sell gifted ships) and then WG gave it to me again, and almost a year has passed and I haven't used my new Okhotnik. It's just... Useless...
Im actually enjoying the Mony 2nd time around. Sure it could stand to gain from Hydro+Speed booster to stay competitive, but it hardly deserves a place on this list
Mikasa I think is derpy fun. Especially when you play with two friends who are also in Mikasa's and you do a charge. Main battery is utter crap...secondaries are where it's at...oh and about the speed of a South Carolina..
As a Brit I looked forward to playing the Royal Navy, That did not last long, the Emerald is just one of a whole group of ships so screwed over as to be unbelievable, The US Battleships have been abused, teir 7's offering OMG, the Pensacola is a joke now, and what do we get now Fairytale Battleships, with more firepower than NCC 1701
I have mixed opinions about the Colorado I got the North Carolina and half the time I can't hit shit at any range then I go out in operation Nairi in the Colorado and absolutely destroying ships left and right at mid and long range sometimes. I hit the second Emerald to appear in that operation 3 times out of 4 on the bow landing 3 citadels and deleting it. The problem with Colorado is the speed for which it has none.
I don't if that still is. true I once made it into the top 100 at rank 56 with 56000 damage dealt. I am still cursing that I have lost the replay. Sadly some denied me the Kraken unleashed... :C In my expirence the ships have enjoyed the least are Chester, Admiral Hipper, New Mexico, Nürnberg and the darn Crapboats Karlsruhe which is just rage inducing for me.
Have to agree with the Emerald, its bad @ T5, but getting thrown into T7 matches, you might as well be AFK for all the good you are doing to your team's motivation by your mere presence in a Meme ship like the Emerald. I'd much rather be in a T3 St Louis in a T5 match than the Emerald in the same. UK Cruisers from T3 to T6 are bad in general, but the Emerald, well its in a league of its own.
The T6 Leander is actually pretty good; compared to the other T6 cruisers, it has only slightly less armor and is functionally about the same level of squishiness. Once you really get used to the RN CL playstyle, it plays very well. Not as OP as the Fiji, it does make out really good with a 10 point captain. The Emerald, however, is utterly shit. It gets citadelled by DD HE. Yeah. And the relatively flat gun arcs make hiding behind island more difficult than the Omaha (a similarly awful ship). It's only saving grace are the 8 torps, but it's really hard to get to use them, as you're usually dead before they get to 8km. Overall, it deserves the rep it has.
@@trims2u For me at least, getting a lot of damage against BBs almost always means setting them afire. Cruisers,, DDs they just lack the punch to penetrate BB armor at the rate that the BB can do thiers, so the fire mechanics kinda balance that. The UK scheme of not setting fires to me is just subtracting 40k damage per game that I could be getting. Yeah sometimes I still get a good game where a fat cruiser runs broadside to me, but if you have a Mid tier UK cruiser against a BB or DD as the last ships on the map, I'd give the Cruiser 4 to 1 odds against.
I actually like my Krispy Kreme. She's an uptiered Svietlana and I love the Svietlana. I can make the KK work. She let's me Svietlana and still work towards my daily missions.
Take back those mean words! I will not have such things said about the magnificent Mikasa! She really performs with a 19 point Captain (actually she doesn’t but why let the truth stand in the way). With a spec’d Captain she has 4.5 secondaries, more than enough to embarrass every tier 3 BB I have ever fought.
For Dunkerque:
Advantages: nice mobility, really fast shells and nice penetration, quick turrent rotation, long shot range, tanky in someway.
Disadvantage: bad dispersion, bad dispersion, bad dispersion, bad dispersion (x 1000 times)
Dunq Is my best t6 BB
It's a french BB what did you though the dispersion is going to be like?
>Dunkerque on the list of community worst ships
Really tells a lot about how skillful the overall playerbase is
Yep it a fantastic ship when you stop trying to be a bow tanker and use you speed to control engagements but it dose feel like cv food since the rework at times
I mean same thing with Omaha
Eh, the Omaha is a great ship. Just don't get shot.
The Omaha is much better than the Pensacola, which isn’t saying much but still.
I swear the Omaha got buffed because they don't instantly explode when looked at nearly as much as I remember when playing them a year and a half ago.
I average about 75k dmg in omaha in my epic 12 games in it xD so yeah the ship is great just not something you want to tank shells in
I got a supercontainer recently with a premium ship!!!
It was a Krasny Krim...
RNGesus: *Laughs*
So...you got a super container but didn’t manage to get a premium ship is what you’re saying
@@MidnightPhoenix07 I should report it as a bug I guess...

Was about to say I haven't got it yet on PC but it was a beast in legends
Contest idea, submit a 'carry' game in a top ten worst ship.
Like the PEF?
I have a Kraken game on the Vanguard.
Ever have a somewhat broadsided Fuso bounce Nelson's AP? Yup, ditto....

Whenever I see or hear someone talking about the Mikasa, I always think of this one Daniel Russev clip where when 1v1 brawls were a thing, he got another Mikasa queued against him, and they were both so surprised and it was pretty funny
I personally had a great time in the Omaha and Murmansk
Dunkirk and pe frierdreich are amazing, those that voted those ships just have no idea how to use them.
To be honest I find dunkerque quite good. Strasbourg however. . .
PE Friedrich gun is accurate? mountbatten, WG nerfed the accuracy. now it has german dispersion
Natsumei She always had German dispersion.
Accurate!? Where did he buy his PEF? I need to start shopping there.
@@edhikurniawan Well thats because it isn't really a Battleship...it's a Battlecruiser...

When I play this ship it has accurate guns.
What! Sailing aroud naked in New York???
Krasny Krym is actually for sale in the shop right now so go and buy it, now!!!
I friggin HATED the New York when I had it as my T5
I agree on everything except gz what I figured out is to play it hyper aggressively and make sure your team supports you if done right you can combine secondarys and ap bombs for a nasty wombo combo
The GZ, just in testing the AP bombs it has close to half less dpm as the other 2 CV's with AP bombs.
@@Nick-dw3sv I understand I have just kinda got use to it
Don't get me wrong, I love GZ and I have Enterprise, but out of the two I play GZ more
Monarch: I wouldn't say the Monarch has hp issues that make it bad.
Agreed, much prefer the Omaha over the Emerald.
Honestly, I'm ok with the Emerald, but on the other hand, the Leander, to me, sucks absolute ass
I love the Emerald, it's a mini Minotaur. It does require some skill to play though.
I loved my Emerald, used to bomb around like she was a big destroyer.
@@bc175 that's how I think of Emerald, she is a big destroyer with a citadel. Like all the British cruisers if used right she's a monster but get caught out of position and you'll die very very quickly
If I might offer an opinion,
Agreed.
Also I find it rather funny that KGV was actually the 2nd most armoured battleship during world war 2 (second only to Yamato but that was only because it's belt armour was sloped)
And yet KGV and Monarch are so incredibly squishy....
"Historical accuracy"
I mean you've only got to look at the entire Russian BB line to see how "historically accurate" it is...lol
I’ve had some of my best ever games in the Dunkerque!
The order of the list is random.
No she has slightly more powerful engines and slightly thicker hull plating.
I'm surprised that the Kawachi escaped this list.
The Pre Buff Kawachi was pretty damm terrible, but since then, its been upgraded to bad.
Actually the Emerald is ok when playing in smoke. Strip it off the smoke and you have the Danae. THAT ship is atrocious.
Danae isn't fighting T7 ships though. And it has "Acceptable" AA in T4, which is basically going to be used every game in that tier.
Danae is my favorite low tier ship
I felt as if the Monarch should have just been an upgrade to the KGV
Emerald is One of the Best if not the best T5 cruiser :)
WinXia111 Winxia111, (acts confused in Kirov)
@@augustusofprimaporta3721 Kirov isn't bad, but made of paper :/
4. AA is optimal
5. It's T5. Don't expect american smoke screen :D.
And 6. I think the same story... People at T5 usualy really don't care about secondaries. Especially on CA or CL. ;)
Omaha is a good ship, in fact my favorite in the game. The key is to not get hit.
She was OP ship. She can bow tank anything which is not BB at beta. And angling to bounce BB AP. Also, she got range upgrade with commander skill.
Omaha is a favorite ship to see on the enemy team when I play a BB. Time to feast.
I love my Dunkerque. I think some people don't realise the benefits of getting yourself a corridor (or making one :-P) and getting close-ish to your opponents. In the right situation she is a beast
Dunkerque is one of the best grinders for operations plus it shines during taking out dd's and cruiser with HE SHELLS
Don't under estimate some of these ships. I have a 71% win rate in the Omaha @250+ matches, with a 2.44 destruction rate. I have had 7 kills in one match and receive Krakens often. I seal club in it lol
Not everyone has the same opinion on ships. For example imo Pensacola was the most fun t6 ship I've ever played.
Nice vid Sea Lord, I liked the Omaha, far better than the Emerald.
You are not alone. I also enjoyed the Omaha and did well in it playing at max gun range and bouncing around like crazy.
How did Karlsruhe not make the list....
Agreed, that was a rough grind. Konigsberg is much better.
@@Straswa wouldn't say its better by that much still can get deleted by multiple citadel hits.
Not bad after WG buffed her.
When you're playing middle tiers and you see a dev strike pop up in the chat most likely it's a Karlsruhe, Konigsberg or nurnberg 😅
Dang, already 9,000 views! Congrats Mountbatten!
I know a lot will disagree with me but I really do not like the Amagi BB. It gets out ranged and penetrated by everything in its tier. Its supposed to have the best dispersion but Ive yet to see that.
Is it just a horrible stock grind? BTW, the range you should fire in is at 15-16km. A concealment build also helps, and jse asm1.
Is it supposed to be the most accurate, though? I always considered NC to be the t8 sniper. It has 2.0 sigma, while Amagi has 1.8.
Don’t trash the Dunkerque!
All of the best matches I’ve ever had have been in that ship.
Colorado
Iron Duke
Phoenix
Omaha
Pensacola
Cleveland at T8 shes too flimsy loved her at T6 would have made a balanced T7 But it it where it is.
The Krispy Kreme russian weird cruiser was the first premium I ever got. WG just gave it to me, no idea why. It just showed up one day.
Glad im already get to Leander, but Emerald grind was a lot of fun
(Lion and Conq well I kind of get it but you can eat citadels from a lot of angles now so maybe it was a bit harsh)
That being said, my win rate in Monarch is rather high compared to a lot of tier 8 ships I've played.
I agree,i use the same capten in my jeanbart.and it works fine..
@@johanpersson2749 JB is really good in my opinion. At least she has good AA instead of Dunkerque. Now I only play JB
Like I said in the vid, my highest kill game is in the Dunk ;)
@@sealordmountbatten My last best game was made with the Dunkerque ^^
New york, P.E Friedrich, Dunkerque and graf don't belong on a "worst" list. New york does decently even uptiered as long as it doesn't get kited to death, given it's useless speed. P.E Friedrich has decent AA and precise guns, making it pretty got at tier 6 as long as you don't play too aggressive. Dunkerque is insanely strong vs anything that isn't 16inch guns+ or carriers. Graf is a carrier and carriers are op at this point, purely because they can do guaranteed damage with planes dedicated to each ship type(first strike is guaranteed unless you fly into uptiered super aa cruisers).
wow, some of these are realy surprising. the krasny and friedrich carried me through the t6 ranked season in a breeze and the emerald realy made british cruisers click for me.
and a second wow: i just checked and the graf spee is on neither of those top10 worst ships? wtf is wrong with you people?
tom duke cause it’s good ship? Takes some skill but it’s a very good cruiser for its battle tier.
Dunkerque for me is useful for Scenarios only and if i have to collect a snowflake or similar reward icon
Though mikasa is more of a meme in wows, she is actually my first ship I got a kraken in a tier 3 game xD
Colorado ffs, its drivin me nuts. Thing shoulda came with oars.
Shipgirls in this list:
• Monarch (Azur Lane)
• Dunkerque (Azur Lane)
• Omaha (Azur Lane)
• Mikasa (Azur Lane)
• Gascogne [Azur Lane (also has a Polaris Muse version)]
• Graf Zeppelin [Kantai Collection, Azur Lane (also has a mini version)]
I got the P. E. Freidrich from a container. I actually really like it. I citadel enemy battleships no problem with it.
I want a Pikecrete carrier that's invincible to torpedoes and HE too, but fantasy ships do happen in Wargaming.
Hawkins dear god
New York at Tier 5 is a million times better than the Colorado Tier 7
In my expirence the ships have enjoyed the least are Chester, Admiral Hipper, New Mexico, Nürnberg and the darn Crapboats Karlsruhe which is just rage inducing for me.
i have monarch but i love it i have sunk bismark amagi and izumo as well
Have to agree with the Emerald, its bad @ T5, but getting thrown into T7 matches, you might as well be AFK for all the good you are doing to your team's motivation by your mere presence in a Meme ship like the Emerald.
Best - Massachusetts (I have almost 6 million xp on mine) Worst - Mikasa pmsl. And the wooden spoon award goes to the Azuma.
Mikasa is the only pre-dreadnought in the game I believe....
It's a bit late but tier 8&9 IJN cruisers Mogami and Ibuki are sooo soft. You can literally one shot a perfectly angled Ibuki
The Krasny Krym is actually a premium up-tiered Svietlana.
I actually like my Krispy Kreme. She's an uptiered Svietlana and I love the Svietlana. I can make the KK work. She let's me Svietlana and still work towards my daily missions.
I super love the gascogne with a secondary build. try it , im seriuos i do like 30k with secondaries not counting fires on many of my battles.
