Hi Ron, I just discovered your page & subscribed to your channel. Your HVAC videos are top notch & are giving me a more detailed & clearer understanding of HVAC & system components. Its helping me to sharpen my skills & build upon things that I already know in a easy to understand concept. I will be a far better technician for watching these videos. Thanks again Ron!
Thanks for your great video Ron. I'm lucky to find it while I'm converting a 36,000 Btu/h ducto A.C to heat pump. Don't know yet what the evaporator board does exactly but I'll keep looking and check the forum.
Thank you so much for your videos, Ron. I couldn't even get this much information from my teacher... 🤦♂ Part of the reason is that most of the students in my class act like they don't even care about learning any of this. I don't understand it. What's the point in having someone pay for you to come to school, and you're not even going to put in any effort to learning this stuff?... 🤷♂
Got thrown on what/why a "defroster panel" was doing on an AC unit ("... is Ron talking about refrigerators?") but it became clearer as the presentation went on.
Thanks for the video . can u do more on 24 volt controls ? I've realized that 85% of service calls are usually somewhere on the control side . Just some tips would help greatly . Thanks
A friend of mine has a goodman heat pump, he replaced his outdoor fan motor and I noticed he has a wire from dfr2 from the board that is not connected. What does it connect to.
Long time follower first time poster. I really like your videos. It's made a better tech and minimized my second guessing of my knowledge when diagnosing. Is there any way you can do a video of a more complex schematic possibly a commercial package HP 3 phase unit that has multiple control boards?
My furnace some time do not start and the unit get frozen, but if I remove the safety switch and turned and put it back the unit start. What could be the problems?
I really appreciated you are a great teacher clear explanation and please can help me ldon.t understand how the defrost board work when the outdoor unit is frozen and lam new tech to the trade thankyou
Just want to say thanks for this highly informative video about how a defrost control board works.

So on a Ruud system, what wires would have 24 volts in cooling mode? R and Y?
thank you sir for sharing!!!! knowledge is power!!!!!
Ron, Thank you so much. I always lean a lot from you.

if i understand you correctly...if no power on the r input terminal then the contactor will not pull in?
how are you able to identify the parts ??
Awesome Video!! Thank you !!!
I understand the control board but I didn't see that you equated that to the schematic at all. Thanks though.
thank you for the info, really helpful

Where does the thermostat get the 24 volts in the first place ?
There's a small 240 to 24 volt transformer mounted inside the unit.
You are great help Ron.
