I’ve found that using a Q-tip around the camera bump really helps get a smooth installation. Pro tip: wet your fingers (just slightly; not soaking/dripping) and smooth the cotton swab before using. This helps keep cotton fibers from getting caught in the adhesive. It also prevents you from having to touch a hot surface after heating the area with the blow dryer 😉
I canceled my dbrand order as soon I saw that in the how to apply video on their site. Later on I was like, "Wait a minute. Let's hear them out..." So now I'm here.
I was skeptical of this at first but now after applying it I’m in LOVE . ****You DO NOT need to put this in the oven. @Dbrand you need to just tell everyone to use the hair dryer for the whole process. I would never put my $1,300 phone in the oven. *** What I did: I used fine tip tweezers to pull the camera sticker out. I then carefully aligned it around my cameras before pressing it in. I used the rear of the tweezers to press it in around the lenses. I then applied the rear skin. I used the one without the sides. I started at the top and once I got it nicely aligned around the camera bump it all started to fit perfect. I kept part of the contact paper on the bottom to make aligning the top easier. I DID NOT put the paper into the middle, and then press the sides down. That was a bizarre suggestion and would have made this very difficult. Treat this like the old fashioned screen protectors when they were a film, and not glass. Once I put it all on, you will need to firm it all up with the hair dryer. This is the magic part! It will conceal perfectly anywhere that may seem like it’s not perfect. It basically shrink wraps it a bit to your phone. It even self heals if you mess up! I put my phone case on immediately after and it bunched up the side. I thought I had ruined the skin. I used the hair dryer to smooth it out immediately, and it looks like nothing ever happened! I was also able to use the hair dryer and my fingers to press it up just perfectly to the edge of the silver around the whole thing. Making it look professionally done. This skin is legit I totally recommend getting it. Just do not follow these instructions in this video they’re not good. I would honestly think I had an actual pink iPhone at first glance. My only recommendation to @dbrand other than this awful video being changed, is to make the Apple symbol a different matte color instead of a cut out. That way it will look even more like it’s factory made instead of a skin.

Just got my first ever dbrand skin. Looks great, but I'm putting visible scratches into it with my fingernail when trying to smooth out the corners of the skin around the grip case... very disappointing...

Skin looks awesome. I was concerned about durability a bit, so I bought a cheap clear case so that I could still see the skin underneath without physically touching it all the time. In my opinion this is better than the cases with the skin attached as it looks cleaner.

Camera part should be installed last. Hair dryer made the top left corner of the skin too soft and kept trying to not be in place for a while while it cooled.
Thats for sure. The camera needs to be the last part. Mine came out fine but it was a bit challenging to do. I always do skin first then camera but i just kinda shat the bed this time around. Which skin did you end up getting? I got the Robot invasion one.
I found the easiest solution to be installing the back skin first and getting perfect alignment. Then apply camera skin. Then heat everything together and apply pressure to make sure it all adheres.
If I had known they were this much hassle I honestly would not have bought them. Come tomorrow I will seriously be looking into my options regarding returns or exchanging for something simple and easy to install right out the box.
I don't know if it's just me, but the skins I've ordered for the 14 pro max were TERRIBLE. I've been a loyal dbrand customer for years with NO issues but this time I've tried 2 different precision skins and neither fit. The edges were miscut and weren't perfectly straight making the sides look sloppy, the camera area didn't fit and the corners didn't reach the top flap. I got a replacement and it was still the same. I posted about it on Reddit and got downvoted to hell but I honestly think there was something wrong with the skin as I've never had issues with installing before

iPhone 14 Pro Max user here 🤚 the skins i always buy from Dbrand never seem to fit for any phone I've had throughout the years, yet for some reason i keep going back to them. but yknow what never again. this iphone was supposed to be the easiest of the phones to install on since its literally a box. and it was. i made sure i followed along the video step by step paused throughout. i aligned the precision fit skin literally perfect on the bottom edge to the port and speakers ( not even exaggerating im really proud of myself for that ) but flattening it out on the next step over the camera bump proved the skin was actually cut too short than the 14 promax size. further proved by it struggling to fit over all buttons button bottom up and literally width wise as well. none of the edges met when flattened towards the top and bottom edges. Ive had this disappointment for my s21 ultra, but given the curved edges, it was understandable. not with the iPhone. NEVER AGAIN. dont call it precision kit if its not precise. I DONT CARE HOW MUCH OF A MEME YOUR COMPANY IS. you wouldnt be this big if your expensive skins weren't pushed by tech RUclipsrs.

I see a lot of customer service concerns in the comments! I agree-they are definitely not world-class. They mostly don’t respond. Even if they do respond, it takes forever. I emailed them three times because I was disappointed with the quality of their junky skins and I wanted to return them for a refund. No response. In my fourth email I told them I protested the Visa charge for their terrible product with my bank, so I already received the refund. I asked them where I should return their lousy product. They finally responded that I am never allowed to purchase from their site again. They never gave me return instructions, so I kept their crappy product for FREE. But, again, I can never purchase from their site again. 😢
Don't use these instructions for the precision skin! It's way easier to start at the camera bump first and work towards the bottom of the phone and then apply the edges. If you start from the bottom first you will overheat the thin strip that fits around the camera bump by the time you reach the top and it will no longer fit snug. It's way better to get it out of the way since the rest of the skin has more mass and is less likely to overheat.
I have installed several dbrand skins on various phones before, but this skin for the iPhone 13 has to be the worst fit and frustrating install ever. I feel like actually putting the phone in the oven after this install. The fit around the camera cutout is horrible and looks like shit. Waste of money. I contacted support with no assistance or refund. Very disappointing.
I purchased this skin, and it cost me about £32 GBP with the shipping charge to the UK. I just received my dbrand grip case for my iPhone 13 mini. Here are a few first impressions: No way this case is worth $50, it’s quite laughable that you charge that amount for this tiny piece of plastic. It does fit perfectly- nice and tight with little to zero flex outwards on the edges. The case is grippy, but NOT everywhere. The back is disappointingly slick, ice like slick. I chose to not install a skin since I like the logo and matte black color. However, the sides are very grippy. But sadly, those little rubber “grip strips” on each side do not offer the amount of grip I was expecting- they are basically just smooth strips of plastic. In conclusion- if dbrand’s packaging was a lot less over-dramatic, meaning the packaging itself probably costs $10 on its own, this case would be more in line with its asking price. I will keep it because I like the “premium” ness of it, but it is no better or grippier than the Smartish cases which are more than 50% less $. Finally, it took one whole week to arrive. That’s too long in this day and age.
I agree with you, it needs more grip, they call it grip but it can still slip out of your hands, especially if they usually sweat... the official iPhone case gives more security than this one on the back, I also think camera protection is poor
I think Rebel case is the best one you can get. Also not that expensive and comes with a screen protector. Had the gen 1 and loved it. Can't wait till the flex series gets released. Dbrand is known for their skins. Just installed one and I like it a lot.
They’re all like this. I used to buy slickwraps over the years for my different phones. Only reason I’m trying out dbrand is because I’ve heard their shipping is faster, and the color I got is not something slickwraps has. Otherwise it’s all overpriced stickers to change the look of your phone. Dbrand is no better or worse than their competition when it comes to pricing.
I love their skins really, but how come every phone skin I ever bought fit perfectly. But for the Macbook its just not fitting at all! its to small cut out for the whole surface :-/ looks not quiet as I wanted, at least the aluminium is also protected from scratches :-D

I have installed several dbrand skins on various phones before, but this skin for the iPhone 13 has to be the worst fit and frustrating install ever. I feel like actually putting the phone in the oven after this install. The fit around the camera cutout is horrible and looks like shit. Waste of money. I contacted support with no assistance or refund. Very disappointing.
The frame ones weren’t included in mine which was totally okay since I did the precision fit anyways

I purchased this skin, and it cost me about £32 GBP with the shipping charge to the UK. I’m very disappointed with the skins; it’s mentioned as a matte finish when it’s actually very slippery and silky. I’ve dropped my phone five times due to the slippery material. Additionally, I’m concerned about their instructional video, which suggests using an oven to apply the camera skin. I’m quite surprised by this approach. How is it even possible to put a phone inside an oven to apply a skin? What guarantees that our phone won’t be damaged? I’ve emailed a few times for the return process, but there’s been no quick response from the customer support team, just automated robot responses.

Don’t put your phone in the oven I spoke to an Apple representative and they asked me not to purchase the skin as the installation is dangerous for your device. They recommend getting a phone case instead. Cheers
I mean getting it just slightly warm sure will help the adhesive to attach. But better use the hair dryer like for the other steps lol.

I can appreciate their brand of snarky humor when it comes to marketing, but for an instructional video this seems incredibly irresponsible. Someone's going to start a lithium battery fire in their oven if they don't know better. I don't want to support this company if they care more about jokes than customer safety.
Can’t they get sued if some kid actually put his phone n oven and the lithium battery ignited possibly burn house down or worse. You’d be surprised how little some people know

the whole oven joke (I think its a joke?) is so stupid. they did it with no humor, they DIDNT EXPLAIN HOW TO PUT THE CAMERA SKIN ON the way they did the other elements, so it makes it seem like theyre serious.. this is a law suit waiting to happen. there is no disclaimer, no asterisk, nothing to exempt them from a lawsuit. Even if the oven thing was true, they didnt put what temperature and how long lol

I wish I would have seen that I had to install my fuxking 50 some $$ sticker that’s now fuxked up because I thought it was printed on the case itself before I received my order I would have cancelled. SUUUUPER BUMMED.
I just received my dbrand grip case for my iPhone 13 mini. Here are a few first impressions:
No way this case is worth $50, it’s quite laughable that you charge that amount for this tiny piece of plastic.
It does fit perfectly- nice and tight with little to zero flex outwards on the edges.
The case is grippy, but NOT everywhere. The back is disappointingly slick, ice like slick. I chose to not install a skin since I like the logo and matte black color.
However, the sides are very grippy. But sadly, those little rubber “grip strips” on each side do not offer the amount of grip I was expecting- they are basically just smooth strips of plastic.
In conclusion- if dbrand’s packaging was a lot less over-dramatic, meaning the packaging itself probably costs $10 on its own, this case would be more in line with its asking price. I will keep it because I like the “premium” ness of it, but it is no better or grippier than the Smartish cases which are more than 50% less $.
Finally, it took one whole week to arrive. That’s too long in this day and age.
I agree with you, it needs more grip, they call it grip but it can still slip out of your hands, especially if they usually sweat... the official iPhone case gives more security than this one on the back, I also think camera protection is poor
I think Rebel case is the best one you can get. Also not that expensive and comes with a screen protector. Had the gen 1 and loved it. Can't wait till the flex series gets released.
Dbrand is known for their skins. Just installed one and I like it a lot.

They’re all like this. I used to buy slickwraps over the years for my different phones. Only reason I’m trying out dbrand is because I’ve heard their shipping is faster, and the color I got is not something slickwraps has. Otherwise it’s all overpriced stickers to change the look of your phone. Dbrand is no better or worse than their competition when it comes to pricing.

I love their skins really, but how come every phone skin I ever bought fit perfectly. But for the Macbook its just not fitting at all! its to small cut out for the whole surface :-/ looks not quiet as I wanted, at least the aluminium is also protected from scratches :-D
they make it 1 mm too short on each side because if it reaches the edge, it might catch on something and peel off. all done on purpose
