  • Logan and I are proud to present FRAMEWORKS. A 12 part series starting today!
    Downhill racing and bike tech have been a passion of mine throughout my career. I've been lucky enough to ride for some of the best teams in the industry and have taken away valuable insight from each. From the bike set up to the team around you, there is more that goes into downhill racing than we see watching the race.
    Follow along with me this season as I shine some light on what works for me... and what doesn't. I'll give an honest look at the development of my downhill frame, building a race program from the ground up, and everything in between. Depending on the race schedule, videos will drop monthly.
    Check out a list of the gear I run here!

    So. First race, 1st place on the low pivot. Second race, 1st place on the high pivot. This tells us all that we already knew. It’s not the bike so much as the rider. Make the rider comfortable in their setup and their skill will shine through. It’s going to be a good year.

    • @simonwenzowski9148
      @simonwenzowski9148 2 года назад +3

      Not so much as a direct and measurable performance benefit objectively with these designs, but maybe it gives the rider confidence. If it's "just how they like it" then there is no distraction from the task at hand of executing their lines and staying focused. Like I highly doubt the Loic Bruni signature Magura lever blade will make anyone faster, but if it feels right for him or someone else and allows them to notbe distracted, there's the subjective performance benefit.

    This is a crazy example of the advantage a downhill racer can get from being knowledgable on the bikes and the tech behind them. Surely most DH racers wouldn’t have this amount technical knowledge

    Logan, great job again, can't wait for the next video. Neko just amazing, yes the riding is great with great results but putting together this project and making it work is a giant accomplishment. Plus still the "king of chill" after such great results, wishing all the best for the season, will be following it all.

    Regarding the faster thing being harder to handle, it's often that the fastest racecar is the one that's forgiving or 'easy' to drive. With a peaky car you don't really know how far you can lean on it before it bites your head off. It might be good for short durations (qualifying), but overall it tires out the driver and/or causes mistakes.
    A more forgiving, balanced car is one where the driver can put the head down and get to work.
    Given your stance on leverage ratios and their shape, I think that might be the case of similar thinking.

    Had just sat down with a cup of tea, decided to reload YT and saw the vid, something nice to watch while I relax. Good job on the wins, on both bikes. Couple of questions...Do you think that the high pivot helped on the second race because of the rougher, more blown out track, which they're 'sposed to be better at?
    Curious on your thoughts Pro riders from "bigger" countries going abroad to other smaller countries to build UCI points and possibly take points away from locals also trying to gain points to give the WC a shot? Obviously the second race was a N & S American thing, so full rights to be there, but have always wondered about this when I've seen it done, bit unfair in my books.

  • @mrpercussive
    @mrpercussive 2 года назад

    Why did you decide to go with the dissectors in the front and the dhr2 in the back? Did the wider spacing help with the deep loose stuff enough to compensate for how low profile those knobs are?
