Personally, I think it's more of a Raze problem than a Judge problem. The gun is very situational with a lot of downsides: it's not good for holding angles, clearing areas for space or taking long range duels. On top of that, most of the time if there's more than one person pushing you, you'll likely just trade one for one. The problem comes in when a certain agent is able to completely negate the downsides of this weapon. Because of Raze's utility, she's able to turn a long/mid range duel into a close range one while at the same time completely throwing the enemy off balance and catching them off guard. Because of her movement, she's able to get in your face in a moment, rendering any crosshair placement or angle you were holding completely pointless. The Judge is a situational and niche weapon that does a very good job at one thing only. However, Raze is able to basically force out that situation in which the weapon shines in. No other agents can abuse it as much as she can.
As a Raze main, judge is balance rn. Another weapon has their own unique ability especially long range combat but not for shotgun. You need to be really close to the enemy to kill and it so hard to do so. Yeah, we may had advantages during close combat or defending but the rng of that gun is still suck. Sometimes it one shot and sometimes it doesn't.

Honestly, China is an underrated region in shooters because their main tac FPS is Crossfire rather than CS, and their best battle royale players are in PUBG rather than Apex Legends. Basically they have the talent pool but they’ve been hidden away in the less-popular games of the various FPS genres

The judge is not strong enough to be called broken. Its just that split is one of the maps that favour it, due to the amount small spaces. On top of the fact that Raze is such a fast moving agent it's no wonder how they make it look broken. The main take away from this video is that the team with the better map and weapon knowledge might just beat the team that think valorant needs to be a rifles only game
id call it broken, i mean its one shot and its a fast automatic shotgun, its hard to die with it on maps with short halls or small spaces, and you could argue that its not good on big maps, but its too powerful on small maps which makes it broken, you can just run at people without any strategy and get easy kills
You can even win mid range fights with the Judge. I've already killed someone who was in B backsite on Split from Main. You just have to know how the weapon works, because you can definitely play it wrong.

Often times you cannot avoid fighting close quarters, be it because you have to clear rat angles as youre moving through the map or smokes allow the shotgun to close the gap (as well as raze satchels or jett dash etc). Sure, thats the counter, but being able to fight people at 20m+ range for 90% of the fights you have to take in a game is incredibly unrealistic and silly to say :p

I dont see the problem with the judge if you are within 5 meters of its barrel you are dead, as it should be its doing what it should do where is a diffrence between a vandal one tap from 50 meters away and the one hit from the judge from 5 meters its the weapons job. if you keep the judge at distance it does no damage as it should. so its in a perfectly healthy state
The judge does needs some nerf but I don't think it's that overpowered. It needs a nerf in effective range since it's still is deadly even in the range slightly further than what we would consider short range because of its firing speed but otherwise I think it's fine. They could also nerf the firing speed instead but it will be just bucky 2.0 and nobody uses that. Besides it's a shotgun so it should be better than the Vandal and Phantom in close range. Like in close range fights, a shotgun should have the upperhand against a rifle because otherwise what's the point of the shotgun? But other wise the rifle will have the trade off of being significantly better than the shotgun in other ranges and more accurate than it. The problem really with the judge is that you still die to it quite fast despite it not dealing as much damage in range just because of the sheer amount of shots you get hit with. So either lower the damage even more in further ranges or lower the firing speed. Also it should be more inaccurate in zip lines but should either be slightly more inaccurate or just the same levels of accuracy when jumping or in air. (Mostly because I still want to see the crazy judge plays in pro, it's gonna get boring without those)

The only nerf the Judge would need at most is a price increase to 2,050. Its practicality was already nerfed with the spread being stupidly random and its spray is horrendous.
I personally think that the Judge itself is pretty balanced, you can easily outsmart these Judge players by pre firing common corners or keeping a distance from them. Maps like Bind or Ascent, which has tight space, are harder to play against. It isn’t broken, it is just paired really well with these environments. Although it would be better to raise the price of a judge tbh.

Like there's a reason why only a select few players can climb using the Judge and are rewarded for using the Judge when situations call for it. And it usually works too. I use the Judge all the time and people get pissed off, so they buy it as well and get a few more kills. It's almost as if its a viable strategy to match up against your opponents weapons and throw their tempo off as well.

just because a shooter is considered "tactical" it does not mean that guns like these should not be allowed, or nerfed... look at the auto shotgun from CS, it is even more accurate over a longer distance and has a higher armor penetration than some rifles, yet nobody cries about it. Judge has been nerfed in the past, they made it more expensive and reduced the amount of aim-punch it gives you on headshots. It can be rather random with the pellet spread, sometimes one-shotting at mid-range but other times missing at point blank. It is also relatively situational and needs the right approach as well as the right map conditions. those plays would not work on Breeze or Icebox. Besides... we have a game here where people (even in high elo) can crouch and spray with a rifle, miss every shot but still get a frag because one lucky stray bullet hits the head of the enemy (vandal specifically and phantom at close range). I find it rather pretentious to criticize a gun and to demand a nerf just because one team capitalized on it's strengths, instead of demanding a general rework of how the guns handle. you don't want to be dominated by Judge in tight corners... fair enough. but then i dont want to die to random spray headshots from a vandal across the map. you demand accuracy and precise gunplay - ok. but then apply it to every gun in the game. my suggestion for this: damage drops off on rifle sprays. lets say starting with the 3rd bullet of a continuous spray it can no longer onehit a player on headshots.
ATK team and DEF team have the same starting money, have the same weapon shop... no excuse... Enemy Judge is broken? Then buy it too! The judge needs good positioning. It’s not that strong over 10 meters, a vandal can beat the judge anyday. Unless if you’re using Raze and really good with the satchel you can close the gap to make the judge effective. The judge doesn’t need a nerf because it’s a good weapon to punish rushers.
Its worth mentioning that Valorant's maps are significantly smaller than that, lets say, Counter Strike, largely because of the fact that Valorant's movement speed is slower. If there were more maps in CS with tight corners, the XM and Nova would become OP. With the Judge, there is just too many CQB corners that its useful practically anywhere. All angles in Split can be held CQB style, which I think is the main problem. Not inherently a problem with the Judge.

@@kaidestinyz And people who say Judge requires no aim clearly never uses it. The first hit has to kill or at least aim-punch or else your dead. At a close range, an AR can just spray and randomly hit your head and you're dead.
Let's not forget how the Judge will NEVER have peeker's advantage on buy rounds, so it can only play back against people who know how to play aggressively.

just because a shooter is considered "tactical" it does not mean that guns like these should not be allowed, or nerfed... look at the auto shotgun from CS, it is even more accurate over a longer distance and has a higher armor penetration than some rifles, yet nobody cries about it.
Judge has been nerfed in the past, they made it more expensive and reduced the amount of aim-punch it gives you on headshots.
It can be rather random with the pellet spread, sometimes one-shotting at mid-range but other times missing at point blank.
It is also relatively situational and needs the right approach as well as the right map conditions. those plays would not work on Breeze or Icebox.
Besides... we have a game here where people (even in high elo) can crouch and spray with a rifle, miss every shot but still get a frag because one lucky stray bullet hits the head of the enemy (vandal specifically and phantom at close range). I find it rather pretentious to criticize a gun and to demand a nerf just because one team capitalized on it's strengths, instead of demanding a general rework of how the guns handle. you don't want to be dominated by Judge in tight corners... fair enough. but then i dont want to die to random spray headshots from a vandal across the map. you demand accuracy and precise gunplay - ok. but then apply it to every gun in the game. my suggestion for this: damage drops off on rifle sprays. lets say starting with the 3rd bullet of a continuous spray it can no longer onehit a player on headshots.

The judge needs good positioning. It’s not that strong over 10 meters, a vandal can beat the judge anyday. Unless if you’re using Raze and really good with the satchel you can close the gap to make the judge effective. The judge doesn’t need a nerf because it’s a good weapon to punish rushers.

Its worth mentioning that Valorant's maps are significantly smaller than that, lets say, Counter Strike, largely because of the fact that Valorant's movement speed is slower. If there were more maps in CS with tight corners, the XM and Nova would become OP.
With the Judge, there is just too many CQB corners that its useful practically anywhere. All angles in Split can be held CQB style, which I think is the main problem. Not inherently a problem with the Judge.
