LSU Football Making Changes In Secondary? Brian Kelly Updates Us LSU Bye Week Plans | Davante Adams?
LSU, Ole Miss slated for nighttime TV slot in Death Valley
LSU (4-1) will host Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels (4-1) on October 12 in Tiger Stadium in what many might call a must-win for both teams at this midway point of the season.
The contest is slated for the primetime TV spot on ABC at 6:30 p.m. CT, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.
Five players we need to see more of for LSU in SEC play
    1. DT Jay’Viar Suggs
    2. Caden Durham
    3. WR Chris Hilton
    4. WR Zavion Thomas
    5. DE Dashawn Womack
Evaluating Garrett Nussmeier's first five games in 2024
LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier left Saturday’s game against South Alabama with 409 yards of passing and four total touchdowns, another quality outing for the Tigers’ starter. However, two interceptions left something on the table for Nussmeier as he left Tiger Stadium.
    Traditional stats
    4th in passing yards (1,652) / 3rd in touchdowns (15) / 2nd in attempts (198) / 18th in completion percentage (69.7) / 37th in yards per attempt (8.3)
He’s at nearly 40 pass attempts per game and has shouldered a significant load for this offense in 2024 so far and has arguably done as much as any quarterback in the country this year. The yards per attempt aren’t as high as you’d like, as a result of the limited down-field shots. The average depth of target for Nussmeier is nine yards, a modest number for a player with his arm talent.
question marks on both sides of the ball.
LSU bye week injury updates: Latest on Daniels, Durham
LSU is in the midst of its first of two bye weeks this season, beginning preparations for Ole Miss who comes to Baton Rouge on Oct. 12 in what promises to be one of the biggest games of the year.
Head coach Brian Kelly discussed a few injuries on his team in this off period as he met with the media on Tuesday after practice.
“You’re not going to get much out of me with injuries this week. It’s a bye week. We’ll have our guys for Ole Miss. We have two weeks here, so we’re not going to get into who’s probable or who’s doubtful. We got some guys that are banged up, but we’re expecting them to be good enough to go for Ole Miss.”
Here are two updates he gave.
    RB Caden Durham
“He’s doing great. 100 percent,” Kelly said. “He’s doing chin-ups right now.”
Durham got rolled up on on his second touchdown score and limped off the field with an apparent lower leg injury, but was on the sideline the remainder of the game and initial reports are that he’s good to go.
    WR CJ Daniels
“He aggravated a knee injury, but we got good reports on it,” Kelly said. “CJ is concerned because he had an ACL injury before, but it was not an ACL injury this time. Those are things, at first you’re concerned, but it turned out to be the best case scenario for us.”
