I describe the first three Beverly Hills Cop films like this. Beverly Hills Cop to me is the perfect blend of action and comedy and both work very well. Beverly Hills Cop 2 while very good and very funny was a better action movie than it was an action comedy. Beverly Hills Cop 3 was bad at both action and comedy. A lot of people may say that The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Meet Dave and Norbit are among Eddie Murphy’s worst films but for me it’s Beverly Hills Cop 3. Because while those other movies are bad they didn’t have other films that were lightyears better ahead of them. Beverly Hills Cop 3 was part of a successful action comedy franchise and it destroyed that franchise. To the extent that it took 3 decades to make another one.
It was the 90s, action movies trended a lot grittier post Die Hard. No I don’t think Eddie was having much fun doing a toned down more serious take of axel foley.

This one was actually that that bad. I liked the different approaches. May have been way off key but i liked it.
I usually skipp this one. I watch 1 and 2 then call it a day.
