    Now you have arrived in Koblenz continue on the Mosel(le) river to Trier and discover the Mosel(le) valley : more castles and the steepest vineyards in the world (up to 65° degrees incline) and Trier being Germany's oldest city. 🙂

      I just said the same, sorta, and imo that bit of Germany is the most stunning part of an already beautiful country.

    This fields are vine yards. They were built by the Romans and are aligned with the sun because they need a lot of sun and the damp morning mist from the river. Moselle Valley is even cooler, especially in autumn and is just around the corner.
    Its also fresh "Federweißer" there. This is sweet, not fully fermented wine. Its very tasty, contains little alcohol but be careful, if you drink too much of it it will cleanse your intestines especially when consumed with traditional onion cakes.
    Loreley is still a challenge for cargo shippers today.

    There are beautiful castles everywhere in Europe. Also within the Netherlands and Spain, and actually every country in Europe. Not just in Germany. Nevertheless, this part of the Rhine with these castles is very beautiful, and this is a very nice video, where you really can admire the beauty of this environment.

    The River Mosselle (or Mosel in German, Moezel in Dutch) that ends in the rhine at Koblenz is perhaps even more breathtaking as this part of the Rhine.

    This are Wine and win yards, farm and cultivated with hard labour. BUT always looking to the sun. We here in Germany are more northern than most of the US are, so our climate was and is a bit colder. In Europe you have to use every space to built and cultivate, even our forests are mostly cultivated, to produce wood. In the US you have enormous space around you, not here in Germany.
    You, sir, be safe.

    Prussia was a historical German state that played a significant role in the formation of modern Germany. It originated as a duchy in the 16th century and later evolved into the Kingdom of Prussia in the 18th century. Under the leadership of figures like Otto von Bismarck, Prussia played a crucial role in the unification of Germany in 1871, leading to the establishment of the German Empire.
    After World War I and the abdication of the German monarchy, Prussia continued to exist as a federal state within the Weimar Republic and later the Nazi regime. However, after World War II, the Allied Control Council abolished Prussia in 1947 due to its association with militarism and Nazism.
    Today, Prussia is a historical entity, and its territories are part of present-day Poland, Russia, and Germany. While Prussia itself no longer exists, its historical legacy and influence on German history are still evident in the cultural, political, and administrative development of modern Germany. The term "Prussia" is often used to refer to the historical era rather than a contemporary political entity.

    These Fields are Grapeyards, partly comes from roman ages. There are more than 20 to 25.000 Castles, Palaces, Fortresses in Germany. Many of them are exist as museum, ruins, hotels and restaurants. many of them are only the ground of them without any walls. We have more Castles than US have Mc Donalds.
    Germany probably has the most in the world. It always depends on how you define the terms. In US everything is a castle. What you call a castle (germ. Burg) here are castle( Burg), palaces (germ. Schlösser) and fortifications or fortified castles (Strongholds Fortress) - germ. Festung )
    From the 15th century onwards, the era of castles (palaces) began and castles (fortresses) came to an end. Some castles were even converted into palaces.
    While the main purpose of castles was to defend and protect, the magnificent palaces were mainly used for representational purposes.
    Accordingly, the design of the palaces is much more playful than that of the castles.
    Rulers and aristocrats outdid themselves with magnificent castles, in which they usually lived with their families. The appearance and furnishings of the rooms were therefore much more luxurious.
    In addition, almost all palaces were surrounded by large, park-like and very magnificent gardens.
    The end of the monarchy in 1918 also marked the end of the great era of palaces in Germany.

    • @Barthijzz
      @Barthijzz 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@ItsCharlieVest It's not necessarily the incline. It's the wind and the exposure to the sun for instance that's good for the grapes.

    • @Arch_Angelus
      @Arch_Angelus 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@ItsCharlieVest yes, The most important thing for the vine is the sun. On slopes, the warmth and sun can be optimally utilized. In addition, the soil in these locations is often loose and rich in nutrients, which promotes plant growth.
