Ok, pro tip since I am a seamstress… your textiles are called “rick rack ribbon” for the wavy style and the one your christening Elven style is called “Sutash braid”. When using most ribbon type textiles they are made of polyester so to reduce fraying on the end give them a quick pass over a flame 🔥 ( of course be careful) this will essentially heat seal the ends 😊
Also, I have subsequently found that "Doily ribbon" has an infinite amount of possibility. Again, after being doused with white glue first to harden it.
@@WylochsArmorylol I’m guessing you are referring to lace
@@LauriesPlace999 .....It would appear that I was. :-D
This is why crafters need to cross pollinate 🤝
The hand-crafted, algorithm-defying, Wyloch content we all love to see!
Feels like the spiritual successor to DM Scotty. This hobby desperately NEEDS someone who can make good looking terrain with the cheap materials accessibly by everyone. Awesome video.
Agreed. There are plenty of crafter videos, but it seems like many have gone the route of excessively fancy tools and techniques. Nothing wrong with those, but they're less accessible to all viewers and make the hobby feel less approachable sometimes. Especially for newer folks that want to try it out.
Try Crooked Staff Terrain as well. He does great print and paste stuff and makes the textures easily available as PWYW.
@@johnmules5954He is the BOMB. He makes so many great textures that you can hack and repurpose, as well as making what they're intended for. You can make an amazing looking terrain piece for literally the cost of a few color printed pages.
These are the kind of projects I like to see. Not everyone has a Proxxon or a 3d printer.
Scratch building is my favorite technique. Thanks brother.
"A knife, corrugated cardboard and hot glue" - I laughed out loud, well done Wyloch :)
I can't wait for the Elven architecture video. That is my jam. Thanks so much for going "old school" on this one.
For many years in italy we have a Kids TV Host named Giovanni Muciaccia which tag line to create things was "Kids, use rounded scissors and abundant pva glue", Wyloch is just his adult alter ego 💓💓💓💓
Fatto? 😂
ahem, Giovanni Always said "diluted PVA glue". "Abundant" feels more like Lukas from Bard's Craft😂, bless him.
I have never heard of them, but that sounds outstanding!!! ❤️
Great build Wyloch, I don't think that set would not have looked any better in xps foam.
The throne is very nice. Bedazzling, even!
10:14 - He's gonna bejewel it.
10:19 - YES
I feel a strange kinship with you.
Stunning work. You are an inspiration.
Art Deco inspired stuff is also great for dwarves, since a lot of that stuff is so geometric.
love the mugs!!!😍
I love the "no print, no foam" approach. Stuff looks amazing. Ribbon is absolute genius.
This build absolutely plays into your strengths as a crafter, all the angles and precise cuts, geometric shapes building up into an overall structure. This is fantastic stuff, and I'm 100% gonna make these to add to my Moria terrain for LOTR SBG.
Love those bead mugs!
The ribbon really makes the terrain look awesome 😊😊😊
Never would have considered ribbon, but now that I've seen it I can understand how fantastic it can be for texturing. Overall a fantastic video as well for showing off beadwork, printing assets (the banners) and adding channels and layers for depth. Dwarven miniature terrain is very appealing because of the simple materials and straight edges, so I was looking forward to this video and it delivered.
(The editing on the scene before the bejeweling was also brilliant, XD)
Woohoo a Dwarven build! Now I feel like I need to make a full dwarven fortress. Also great idea on the ribons I had never considered that in my crafts.
Those Final Faction toys from Dollar Tree are a kitbasher's best friend. I love that you've turned that Kharn hammer into the maul of the Dwarf-Father.
Wonderful stuff. Thank you for sharing.
That is a beautiful build!
I love your old cardboard crafting style. It makes me feel so inspired to look at the odds and ends around me and make something new and fun.
@10:19 - that look - we all knew what was coming :D I cackled
You've shown some amazing pro tips and inventive hacks before, but the ribbon is pure genius. These looking absolutely freakin' amazing and can't wait to see your Elven style ones.
So glad to see Wyloch videos again
Thanks for the video! Nice job breaking out an old paint and finding a use for it while it still had some life to it. Great look for Dwarven architecture!
Awesome! All of Wyloch's videos are worthy of much love.
As a lover of all things Dwarven, this is great, love it.
LOVE this build. And a lot of people would be shocked to find out this was pretty much just cardboard and ribbon if they hadn't watched this video.
One of the best videos I’ve watched in a while Wyloch! That ribbon was a brilliant find. I love how you kept the theme of ribbon then two layers surrounding it in the tables as well as the pillars. It’s very quickly dawning on me that repeated details on multiple items really helps a scene be immersive, rather than a bunch of scattered terrain thrown together.
Great Video. When My wife and I got back into D&D, we watched HOURS of your vids to build our own terrain and Dungeon tiles. Thanks for putting this out.
Man I love your stuff! Thanks!
Holy moly what incredible stuff with JUST paper products more or less
Yo, that ribbon turned out so good! This is why I love watching your channel - I would've never thought of that. I appreciate how simple this build is, because it shows how much you can achieve with these techniques. When the camera pans over the full table setup, no one's thinking "oh it's just cardboard," they're thinking "whoa that looks epic!"
That's great! love the use of the lil bits you find at the craft store.
As a newb I can't stress enough how useful templates are to actually getting me to craft things and it makes them easier to do with children.
Perfect for Dwarves. As someone who always used cardboard, your cladding is my favorite detail.
I'm so glad that thanks to you Wyloch, I'll never forget that grafix medium chipboard is the thick stuff found at the back of a legal pad
I can't believe you had both "dwarven mug" beads as well as "fantasy axe" earrings just lying around! Fantastic! Love this project. Can't wait to see what's next.
Love to see projects like this that almost anyone can do even if they can't work foam. When I first started out I felt hampered because I couldn't get a hot wire cutter, I tried a lot of tricks to cut foam anyway but often would resort to "can I just do this with all this cardboard I have laying around". So very glad to see these projects highlighted. TY Wyloch, another great addition.
Great new tip with the ribbon hack!
The pillars look great, more dwarven terrain please. Running an all dwarf underdark campaign currently so i need this.
Thanks for always making accessible builds, Wyloch. It's always a bit of a bummer to see "let's make simple rocks!" and then we see a hotwire table, giant slabs of pink foam, two 3d printers, name brand paint, and spraypaint in a massive backyard. But I digress.
I actually recently started dumpster diving as a side hobby and now I have EXTREME amounts of cardboard and EPS foam. They aren't the best materials but they're so abundant, and foam comes in interesting shapes. It's a fun thing to pick up that can complement hobby crafting (not to mention the other cool stuff I find). I even found some thin rigid plastic from a sign ship that's amazing for basing.
The fact that you state "No 3d printing" makes me want to make sure I watch your new vids even more!
This was great!
Awesome! I'm currently crafting all the terrain for LMoP, possibly Shattered Obelisk, and will be stealing this technique for wave echo cave and some ruins!
Always a good day when Wyloch posts a new build video, keep up the good work dude. :)
10:15 Lol, almost had me there.
I love the pure genuine enthusiasm. It cannot be faked.
THIS is what we want!! Great job 👍👌
Wow! So cool. Incredible job here. I especially love the tables with the mugs. I most now search the internet to find this specific bead that I need to make mugs for mead.
Truly that is a great hall even the Dwarven gods would be envious of!
S tier content, as always. I think you probably have the best Dwarven builds of anyone I've seen
A master being masterful!
I love the pic of you as a dwarf!!!!
Love the classic Dwarven build, always happy to get a notification that you posted!
AWESOME AS ALWAYS :)
this is the perfect content for me! I love cardboard crafting and actually have grown to really dislike using foam (expensive and bad for the environment). I love the fact that you can use free materials and make beautiful terrain and you show it off so well!
Some things I thought were great ideas are using the thin cardboard to cover the corrugations, I usually use filler or paper mache which is great for awkward spots but takes a lot of time in large areas so this will be perfect for me!
I also like your use of beads (including in your videos in the past) I dont have a shop near me with this kind of stuff but next time I am near one Ill have to go and find some!
Ideas I have come across in the past that I think are great (youve probably seen them!) using the inside texture of egg cartons looks like worked stone and works great for flagstones and bricks and then for large flat areas of worked stone you can cover them with watered down glue and put a layer of toilet paper very roughly paper mached over the area, a very thin layer works. It sounds like a faff but it is actually quite quick any easy. This leaves a subtle texture that looks great with dry brushing. I actually use this all the time for many different materials where there is large flat areas such as plastered walls etc.
Thanks for the great video, I really enjoyed it!
I never get tired of your videos
Absolutely vintage Wyloch! Awesome. Thank you!
Watched for years and will continue to do so as long as your channel exists! Love it!

Ty for the templates!
Thank you, I will be using this for making some walls for the 5th level spell Wall of Stone. I love the videos and I hope everything is going better with the RUclips algorithm now.
Nice video! There's a tremendous satisfaction I feel from building stuff out of cardboard and assorted bits, instead of 3D printing. It goes without saying that whenever you see cheap miniature axes, chain links or other crap in shops, you should buy them.
I feel like your reading my mind for things I need !
Bro this would be perfect for Torch & Shield
The Return of the King!
Fantastic work! 🦾
Great build.
The chipboard makes a nice scale for minis on the angular insets. The fancy ribbon is a great idea.
I love me some Dwarven terrain, and while I have a 3d printer, it’s always great to see projects that don’t need the technology to look awesome. Great job, you really captured the dwarf look.
The Cardboard Master cardboards yet more, to great effect!!! 🥰 The ribbons are an ingenious idea! Those pieces are all beautiful!!!
I'm gearing up for a new campaign and this video gave me some great ideas!
An old school Wyloch video…??? Yes please!!!
I'm already leaving a comment on this before the video... IT LOOKS AMAZING!
Hell ya. Love these types of fantasy builds. They're what drew me to your channel. Keep em coming.
Cool video!
It's just amazing to see you build all that only with cardboard! Thanks for showing us how to do it.
very cool and great to see cardboard scenery in use
Hands down my favorite you tuber!
Righteous crafting as usual! Constraints breed creativity
Nice work! Way to go with the ribbon, man! Great idea!
I love these back to basics videos you do every now and then. Certainly helps me a lot, thanks!
Okay Wyloch, this is great. I have been racking my mind for the last month on how to start a Dwarven area for my game coming up. You nailed it and gave me lots of inspiration with a direction to go.
I'm a 3D printer/XPS man myself, but I gotta admit, you can work wonders with cardboard. Love the channel. Love the content. Thanks for uploading.
That ended up lovely! I've recently noted that a lot of plastic food-packaging has shapes that look very Dwarvish. Some cookies come in packages that even unaltered look perfect for Dwarf pillars and wall-decorations.
Those ribbon details are *chef's kiss* ! Great video.
I love dwarven architecture. Hands down, my favorite!!
I love this! With some minor alterations, I could also see this as a "cross over" to Star Wars RPG as some sort of Mandalorian stronghold. Excellent!
A small suggestion: make the "decorations" (the axes, that hammer, the banners) easy to swap out. That way you can repurpose the set with torn up banners or skulls or cobwebs for different situations. It might make a cool temple if you swap out the throne for an altar, for example, or some dwarven hall that orcs have taken over and "redecorated" to suit their tastes.
Bah, I wish I was still playing. Unfortunately my players never seemed to care one way or another about all the scatter terrain I spent hours and and hours and hours making.
Great looking Hall man!!
Love it. We never see things for dwarves.
Most important in the work with cardboard is to make it not look like cardboard, you did a great job on it
"Step one is done..." 😍
Thanks for another super inventive and relaxing video.
Wyloch, best build yet!
THIS IS STUNNING! I wish I had the room to store pieces at my home. I'd love to actually build stuff like this.
Another simple but great idea, thanks.
have to say, they looked good at the start, but is not until you see them being made that you appreciate them more.
Great piece, Wyloch! Really loving this return to classic materials :D
This build looks awesome!!
Awesome work! And fun / relaxing to watch. Thanks!
Ah man, I really want to delve into this hobby but for now I'm watching your vids and living vicariously through you! Thanks for the video :)
Hell yeah love the design. Not enough good guides out there for dwarven terrain
Great work! Love your way of crafting things. AND it's really relaxing to watch... 😊
the little beads and ribbons were a great find.. i want those axes for earrings haha. Thanks for sharing the build. The throne and banners are such a great touch. I shall steal more of your ideas
